since this is the last season of smallville are there any rumors of a movie made for tv with the smallville cast?

I got my Season 9 DVD a week ago, but it wouldn't work on my dvd player. I have Season 5 onwards on region 1 and they work fine but you need a multi-regional dvd player to play season 9 in the UK. I can still play it on my laptop for now and have ordered a multi regional player. Best season ever!

I haven't a clue, but I would think no. The actors probably want to move on. Allison is already venturing out big time (and I want to see her do more directing). Tom was always adamant about not wanting to wear the costume (no spoilers please about what will/might happen in S10!), so I don't know where a movie would go. Sure, I'd love to see it; man, I'd love to see the next Superman film be the entire SV cast (with MR as Lex, of course), but probably not enough gold pressed latinum in this quadrant to make that happen!

So I was watching the episodes and kept noticing some sharper looking effects and some different framing that was done in order to help mask some bad effects. Specifically the one that I'm remembering now was a scene from Pandora.
Right when the towers fail and the sun turns yellow again we see a shot of Zod looking scared a bit towards camera, which then leads to him turning around and see Clark in the background. In the original broadcast version and in the Itunes version Clark's feet were very awkwardly shaped, and it was obvious that he was in front of a green screen. They zoomed the frame in a bit so that you can no longer see his feet and they changed some of the green screen work.
Just thought it was interesting, and will post more as I notice them.

Great Star Trek Deep Space Nine reference!
I haven't heard Welling say anything negative about wearing the Superman costume though. In fact, I'm pretty sure I heard him say/read something from a trusted source that he's willing to do a feature as Superman, but a lot of things woud have to fall in place, and it's pretty iffy they all can. But I'm hoping he'll wear it in the last episode. In fact, I'd love that last episode, last scene, to have him respond to a crisis by discarding his fake glasses, and pulling open his shirt while running towards the camera revealing the classic Superman shirt (a good one, not the crappy thing from 'Superman Returns').

go to the site of your blu ray player or call the help hotline that should be on the blu ray player box or instruction booklet and have them send you an update disc. the blu ray player site might also allow you to create an update disc or if your blu ray player is connected to the internet you may be able to update it directly.

S9 DVD review – SFX Magazine<O:p</O:p
Rated 3 stars Extras 3 stars <O:p</O:p
no flights, no tights, has been the rule on Smallville since Clark’s debut in 2001, but with season nine the show takes a sky-scraping leap towards the big blue boy scout of legend in the most heavy DC season to date. Smart move, since for the first ime in half a decade Smallville no longers feels like a show in need of a Kryptonite siv to the gut
<O:p</O:p
Metallo, The Wonder Twins, Dark Archer, Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Icicle and the Silver Banshee are just some of the comic stalwarts to pass through Metropolis this year, but it’s Calum Blue’s Major Zod and his comradeswho take centre stage. Blue does his best Terence Stamp, but can’t muster a scrap of small screen presence as the cockney conqueror, and the Kandorian arc only comes into it’s own in the finale.
<O:p</O:p
The season gets off to an inauspicios beginning as well, with moody Matrix trenchcoats, ill-judged body horror and even zombies featuring in the early episodes. However, things take flight after a pivotal Geoff Johns scripted, Golden age superhero saga and a fascinating flashback tale which harkens back to Superman:The Movie and plays on established mythology in a similar manner to Smallville’s heyday.
<O:p</O:p
As always there is too much filler, but the show has finally found a comfortable rhythm for it’s current supporting characters (Oliver and Chloe in particular) and continues to demonstrate ambition much greater than it’s production values imply. The past few years have been a grind, but there’s enough promise here to give hope that Smallville’s Season 10 swan aong will be worth the wait.
<O:p</O:p
Extras A decent 30-minute Making on Geoff John’s ‘’Absolute Justice’’, a 15 min-talking head piece on Zod, dull deleted scenes and two commentaries <O:p</O:p

I think the season 10 DVD should have a few extra discs in it and or a different set that goes behind the scenes of how they make some of the special effects. I know they showed it a little bit, but it seems that movies go more into it than SV does.

I'm sure they will, and I have a feeling it will be in some sort of S shield box and or come with something. I'd like a n adult size cape but I doubt that will happen. I think my idea for the extra discs sounds good. Have a look back at behind the scenes from previous years etc.

If (or really when) they do a complete series box set, I would love to see it with a cover much like they have been doing, but use all the characters from the past. They use different ratios all the time for complete series, so I think it would be great to have Clark in the center with the rest of the major cast members around him even if it ended up a little wider than most.
Put Clark front and center. On the left, put Lex, Lana, Pete, Lionel, and the kents. On the right, put Lois, Chloe, Tess, Oliver, Kara, and Jimmy. I don't really need to see Lana's boyfriends or the villains on the cover, so those regulars could be left off (they were only in one season anyway and don't relay have as much positive impact or recognition as Kara). I'd really love to see the entire series from seasons 1 to 10 acknowledged on the cover of the complete set and not just Clark or the usuals like Lex, Lana, and Lois.
Even if this was just a back cover, I would love to see something like that.

Has anyone made or compiled 'spines' for the boxes that match? I'm in the Philippines and while all the boxes are identical (thick), the spines and layouts aren't. Seasons 2,3,4,6,7,8 and 9 all have no images on the side (just the smallville logo, season, and disc numbers) but 1 and 5 have what seems to be the US box layout. Just curious if anyone's attempted to make matching spine art.

I'm jealous, you get that kind of packaging. We don't get individual cases for each 2 discs, we get a book style packaging for earlier seasons, and then a stacked kind of thinner presentation for the later seasons. If you do a search on this thread, you will probably find what ours look like. I now get Blu ray and that is even thinner and we don't even get different art on each of the discs, we get the same pic on each disc - there are fewer of them. (The first Blu ray discs did give up all the pic of the regular discs, they photoshopped 2 pics together for some of the discs. They couldn't be bothered to do that later apparently.)

It would be cool if there was a blu-ray set as well so we can see the early seasons as well in pristine 1080p quality! So, if anyone knows anything about it's production post here! You know, I have all the seasons out on DVD and I will probably get the 10th. But if there was some way to get the entire series on Blur-ray, I would sell my house for it.
Not really, but I would really like that.
The Box Set Art should just be the medium sized red Superman Symbol with the sky as a background; no words or anything. Just the symbol.
Or a picture of the Kent Farm Barn on the front, and the Fortress of Solitude on the back. The words Smallville: The Complete Series at the top.

I'll only buy the complete series on blu-ray, since the first 5 seasons haven't been released, so I'll only own 2 seasons already on blu-ray over 7 seasons on dvd.

ya id assume the complete series would be something like that with a big superman logo on the front and guess a dvd info guid on the side and maybe a bunch of pictures from all the seasons on the back. i already have the individual sets so probably wont go for the whole series but hopefully they dont go cheap and put all the discs in cardboard slip sleeves :\ and will be cool if they had some special stuff in the box like maybe lanas necklace and fortress key and a superman shirt.

There should be alot of bloopers since they haven't had any for the past what, six sets? That and a retrospective of the show for the last ten years. Show some interviews of the cast and how they feel about the end, like TW, ED, MR, JH, CF, etc. Even bring back some old cast and have them put in their two cents.

I'd want more behind the scenes stuff which shows actual on-set filming and interviews, but I doubt it.
I've never been happy with the smallville extras, so little. WB suck making good dvd extras.

Yeah, mine skips sometimes too and I'm really confused. They only go three places: From the DVD case, to the DVD player, and then back to the DVD case. And I don't put my fingerprints on the bottom of the disc or anything like that. I always get skips during Season 7 and Season 1 the most.

I have that problem too! My early seasons are the ones that skip sometimes. But I take really good care of them!
Although it's probably just becuase I've watched them so many times. Maybe something happens to them when they're inside the DVD player... IDK :\

I think the eye of the DVD player gets dirty after a while. I hope it's not the discs themselves. But I'm just gonna wait it out till I get some cash to buy them all again.

It could be a problem w/ your DVD player and not your DVDs. I used to have problems w/Transference, Exposed and Cyborg. When my old DVD player went and had to buy and new one, I no longer had those problems. Do either of you have access to another DVD player or have a DVD-rom on your computer? If so you might try playing them on another player.

I'll only buy the complete series on blu-ray, since the first 5 seasons haven't been released, so I'll only own 2 seasons already on blu-ray over 7 seasons on dvd.
I also want more extras, to be honest I've never been happy with the smallville dvd extras, WB are always cheap and never offer many extras that the Lost, Fringe dvds give.
How much do you think a full set on blu-ray would cost?

with dvd players i know the older ones have the lenses that are bigger or something and they pick up any little mark. atleast my first dvd player was like that. it got to the point where all my discs would skip for all my dvds. also i used to have to return dvds multiple times thinking it was the dvds. the dvd player i have now ive had for a few years and it plays discs that not even worked in other dvd players. ive had my blu ray player for almost a year and no problems with that. id say you might if anything need to buy a new dvd player. if you have a blu ray try some of those discs in that player and see if they skip. blu rays are more advanced so it would do a better job reading discs so if they dont work it might be the discs. good thing tho is early seasons you can often get on sale for 10 bucks throughout the year at best buiy or amazon.com.

thats got to be a lot. considering its 10 seasons id assume near the 300 mark. regular dvds might only be near 200.

I was thinking (because I want to have an EPIC full series marathon this summer) since Smallville isn't coming back in September, and there won't really be a need for marketing, do you think the Season 10 dvd might release earlier? I loved when Season 8 came out in August.

hmm good question, the Lost complete series blu ray was about $250, but on Amazon it was cheaper.
Since Smallville is 10 seasons, I'd say about $300. But I'll be buying it on Amazon, as they always do special sales and sell it about $100 dollars cheaper.

I've had similar issues at times with my smallville dvds, try cleaning your dvd player with a laser lens cleaner or get a some cleaning gel to clean the disc surface.
I think Smallville may be my first ever complete series on blu-ray to purchase. I only own season 8 onwards on blu ray. So I wont loose out, since I dont own the first 7. I cant wait for earlier seasons in blu ray.
I wonder what the boxset will look like, and be shaped liked.

My choices:
Season 1 - Clark
Season 2 - Clark
Season 3 - Clark, Chloe, Lex and Lionel (did anyone feel Lana shouldn't have been on it, Chloe and Lionel had a major story in season 3 than Lana)
Season 4 - Clark and Lois
Season 5 - Clark, Lex and Brainiac
Season 6 - Clark, Oliver, Lex and Lana

Season 8 - Clark, Chloe and Davis
Season 9 - Clark, Lois and Zod

As much as I don't care for Lana, she had a couple side stories of her own that season, while Chloe basically was a small part of a bigger storyline. Screentime wise Lana was close to 10 minutes and episode while Chloe was at 7. The only season I think one can make an argument for Chloe on the cover would be S8

True she did have more screen-time, but I felt season 3 was kinda not a big year for Lana, and more for Chloe/Lionel.
I guess when I look at the cover, seeing Lex, Clark and Lana on the cover, you'd be think thinking the season is suppose to be about those 3 and there story lines are tied together. But we all have our views.

From TV Shows on DVD:
We reported back in September that Amazon.com had begun taking advance orders for DVD and Blu-ray releases of Smallville - The Complete 10th Season, even though Warner Home Video hasn't officially announced the title yet. We're still waiting for that formal word from the studio, but now we might have a release date for this item! VideoETA, a site produced by the retail distribution arm of Ingram Entertainment, is showing that these sets, costing $59.98 SRP for the DVD and $69.97 SRP for the BD, will be available on November 8th. That is, of course, early information and could be subject to change. Stay tuned for updates, when the studio finalizes things and makes their official product announcement.

That is a long time to wait. Maybe the plan is to also release the Complete Series Set on that date as well. Sometimes the Final Season and Complete Series sets are released on the same day.
I wonder if it will still be really cheap around Thanksgiving- that's when I was planning on buying it. But it'll only be released for about 3 weeks at that time.

I am mostly happy with the choices made for the cover artwork.....the only one I would change is the one of the third season.....I don't like it for some reason.....it would be more fitting to put Lex and Lionel there instead of Lex and Lana....if they would HAVE to put Lana on a cover aside from season 6's (which I loved) it would be season 2.....the whole season had to do with the two of them coming more close....
As for season 10....I would have to say Clark with the suit or the jacket or maybe Clark on the suit with Lois back to back much like that pic from season 9's CROSSFIRE....only this time Lois would pull his cape instead of the tie....

Ok....first of all....your dvd is legitimate.....now....as to why it's like this....there has obviously been a mixup with connecting the pages....i.e. page 14 should be next to page 5 and so on....I guess this happens and maybe it's like this to whole spesific bunch that was sent to amazon from the factory so you might not be the only one who has them that way....as for the faded dvd arts dont worry.....some of mine are too....printing on a disk is like printing on paper...sometimes it goes wrong and it looks faded but as you can repeat the printing on paper until you get it right that's not the case with disks because then they would go to waste and you dont easilly throw a whole disk away....it just happened...

I'd be actually mad if the gag reel is only 5 mins long, to be honest they have material for hours worth of bloopers for a 10 year program. I always get annoyed when tv shows do have gag reels on the dvd they are rather short.

Clark, Lois, Oliver, Tess, Chloe each get a disk and then maybe a cast shot or something supermanly. I imagine they'll work something with Normal Clark and Superclark (be it leather jacket or Superman) into the mix. That would work well for a disk. First disk Clark. Last disk Superman with the rest of the cast in between (that is if it is six disks).

Ultimately, not many are gonna be completely happy with how the show ends. Personally,I've had my moments where I wished they had kept it more in Smallville, concentrated more on him in college, and ended the series with he and Lois starting work at The Planet. But there have been so many great moments that I wouldn't have been witness to. I'm also one of those viewers that feels Chloe has been missed this season. All in all it's been an amazing ride. I wish that I had been with this show from the begining,I spent an entire summer watching seasons 1-5 to catch up so for me it's too soon. It'll be one of my fave shows always.

Considering that there's five regulars this season, how do you think the disc art for Season 10 will play out?
Disc 1- Clark
Disc 2- Lois
Disc 3- Tess
Disc 4- Oliver
Disc 5- Chloe
Disc 6- Superman symbol
I think you have the first five right.
However, I think the sixth disk will have Greg Sullivan, Lucas Luthor, Darkseid and Shelby.

There are still a few more weeks to go before Smallville signs off, but if you're expecting to go through withdrawal, here's something that should help: Smallville: The Complete Series DVD is coming out this fall. In addition to all 218 episodes, the massive 62-disc(!) set includes the following special features:
* 90-minute series retrospective with new cast and crew interviews
* Commemorative issue of the Daily Planet, created by DC Comics
* 2010 Comic-Con International panel
* Episode guide with production art (storyboards and sketches) and behind the scenes photos
* Previously unseen Superboy pilot from 1961

There is a trailer for it is at that link. (And it does look like one of the things Michael Rosenbaum did was the 90 minute retrospective interview)
Really wish there was a blu-ray coming out of this. That way people could get Season 1-5 on blu-ray for the first time. But i'd take a guess and say some day a Smallville-Complete Series blu-ray will come out.

I really hope for a BD release too...having already purchased every DVD set.....I want to get this soooo much.....
But letsface it they should release a BD complete series....Lost did it and it only had six seasons....Smallville may not be THE GRAND show of all times but it has one of THE BIGGEST fanbases out there so a BD release of all seasons should be out....dont forget that seasons 1-5 have already been remastered to 720p for iTunes....so another upscaling to 1080p shouldnt be too hard.....
pleeeease WB.....WE WANT A COMPLETE SERIES BLU-RAY TOO!!!!!!!

My older smallville DVDs are starting to skip bad and not even play? Like seasons 1-5? Idk if its cause i watched them to much or the discs get bad over time. Its gettin me mad!
Last time I was in the States I bought this great stuff called "Scratch Out!" that repairs CD & DVD (games, movies, music, etc.). My Smallville DVDs are NOT scratched but for some reason they started to skip, get stuck in one spot and generally make me crazy when I tried to watch them. I wipe this stuff on them and voila! DVDs are fully functional again.
This stuff can be bought online or anywhere that sells computer equipment, like office supply stores.
Hope this helps any frustrated DVD viewers like I used to be. Cheers & good luck!

I'm surprised by how fast this is coming out. What about the regular S10 set? Geez.
I'll probably buy it for the fact that I'm a sucker for this stuff, but my main concern for everyone who buys it is quality control. With 62 discs, I hope the set won't be plagued by compression errors or scratched discs out of the box.
I'm also wondering why they wouldn't do something a little more clever with the packaging, like creating an octagonal box (and disc case) to resemble the key? It would've also been nice to get a replica of the key as a keepsake.
Oh well. I'll buy it anyway.
Edit: Amazon.com is already listing (http://www.amazon.com/Smallville-The-Complete-Series/dp/B004XWLN20/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&qid=1288975111&sr=1-24) the box set, available for pre-order at $224.99.
Ouch. At any rate, I've already pre-ordered mine just to make sure I get the lowest price possible between now and the release date. And, I can cancel at any time...:rotfl:
I don't know why there are 2 discs of special features on the Complete Series set. If Season 10 and the Complete Series come out the same day, why don't they put those special features on the Season 10 DVD? I doubt many people are going to sell their first 9 seasons and buy the complete series set just for 2 extra discs of special features. It wouldn't be worth the hassle. The people who have bought the first 9 seasons over the years don't get the extra special features. 24 did that with their complete series set.
Amazon also has a possible cover art- not bad, but I doubt many people will go through the hassle of selling their season sets to buy the complete series set.

I think that's why the special features will be a bart of the complete series. Because if they are in the S10 dvd set, those that bought the first 9 seasons on DVD won't feel the need to buy the box set. I do hope they release a separate DVD for S10 on the same day. Even without the special features.

As much as I'd appreciate that more than having to buy the whole series set, they're probably doing it to make more money. If they put whatever's gonna be on the series set on the Season 10 DVD set, that would affect sales of the series set, especially if people say: "Well, I have those features on the S10 set so I won't buy the whole series." They want to make as much money as possible, which means making certain special features exclusive to one set instead of another.

It's a little steeper than I thought, but I think it will sell really well. The price will probably go down based on how many units are pre-ordered, but I'd be willing to pay $175 at the most. Not sure it'll come down that much, but I'm sure the price will be lowered.

I already own the first nine seasons and their all in perfect shape mainly because I keep them in a sleeve booklet and not in the dvd case (even though I still have all nine box cases).
So I have no reason to fork over over 200 dollars for the whole series just for some extra video interviews, as cool as those would be. I bought most mine when they were on sale during the chirstmas holiday.
I'll just end up buying season 10 when it comes out (Best Buy) already has it listed, but does not say what's on the dvds other then the episodes.
Maybe we'll get luckey and it'll be on the single season 10 release or maybe even itunes will have a download for it.

One thing I wish studios would focus on, especially when releasing Series sets like this (no matter the show), is size. The case itself looks massive. I'm not sure about the DVD cases or what's included, but sometimes smaller is better.

I don't like the sleeves either, I worry about scratching. The packaging looks thin, so that's probably the style they're using. I was going to buy the complete series of The West Wing until I saw it used that packaging. I ended up spending a little more money and bought the 7 seasons seperately.

like some people said above it sucks they dont exactly have any special items to come with the set. would have been cool if it came with lanas necklace or the spaceship key or something. and the box art wish there would have been more on it. could always be a temp picture (not saying any spoilers just a thought) and that they wont release the actually cover art of season 10 atleast cause it might have clark dressed up as superman and have it based on the finale. agian not a spoiler just a theory as to why we dont have any offical imagery.

ya i agree about the cover. i honestly dont think that would be the one. i mean if it was im pretty sure KSite and TVShowsondvd would have announced it way before amazon put it up. if that is the dvd art it could be region 2 dvd art for part 1 or something. atleast for Supernatural for region 2 their part one is using a promo poster for their dvd cover. which i dont like as a dvd cover either. :\ good posters but dvd art seems like a cop out.
seeing how this season mirrored a lot of the early seasons i would really like the cover art to mirror season 1 cover art. only instead of a painted S on his chest and tied up in a cornfield id like the same pose maybe in the sky with him in the some postion but with the superman suit on. also other then season 1 and season 7 the background of the covers have been really dark so i think id like something bright seeing how superman is brightness and not dark. leave dark for batman.

Tell me about it. If they are cardboard, the backside of the sleeve would only scratch a disc every time you tried to fish it out. This is a little disappointing, but I'll wait till a better picture of the set is released to decide whether or not I want to cancel my order...
Edit: Didn't see this when I ordered, but Amazon has a bigger image of the set now (Sorry that it's so big):

I'm so tired of this whole *Box Set exclusive disc* crap. Ughh why is it we spend our money to get the DVD's when they first come out and than they go ahead and do this. its like a big FU to the fans, the loyal ones. Now I gotta sell the sets I have to pay for this set, grant it it'll look better on my shelf, but still

I have the Friends Box Collection, and there's six small cardboard flip boxes. When you pull out a disk, there's a plastic type cover on the back to protect them. Maybe this box will have the same. You can't see it until you pull out the disk.

I have 4 complete box sets with cardboard or plastic sleeves for the discs (Lost, The Wire, Scrubs, and Alias) and have never had a problem with scratching. As long as you're careful, you shouldn't have any problems.
I'm pretty psyched for this set. The 200 bucks for the set is actually pretty low for over 60 discs and over 200 episodes. I'll probably wait for the price to go down before I shell out for this.

I am so amped. I've been waiting for this for so long. This reminds me how badly I need a job. And actually, 300 isn't that bad of a price. Some shows that have been out for years in boxset are even more expensive. Must buy this at midnight! haha.

I cannot wait!!!! How much do you guys think this will cost? I'm gonna start saving up now lol $100-$200? too high?
Given what comparable complete series (24, Lost) cost, I'm guessing just under $200 ( a little over $200 with tax).
If we ever get a complete blu-ray set--and I doubt we will--add another hundred.
And, yes, there will be a final season box set.

What I do in cases like this is put the disks in paper sleeves (which you can buy at Best Buy, Wally World, and most drug/discount stores) and then snap them on the little plastic holder in the case.

That's actually a really good idea, but what's the point of releasing a set with bad packaging / disc storage if the consumer has to go to such length to ensure that the discs are protected? Who knows, maybe the sleeves holding the discs slide out and it won't be a problem, but studios shouldn't be short-changing fans for the sake of spending less money to create a box set, especially one that's probably going to cost $100+.

The Star Trek Next Generation/Deep Space Nine boxed sets contained (on some seasons) bonus disks. Having bought both series season by season, I got those, but I've seen the bonus disks sold on ebay by themselves.
Might happen later for the Smallville documentry/Comic Con panel. Some people don't care about such things.

Probably not. "Ultimate" just means that it has every episode and documentries and other features not found in the season by season editions. I cn't see them releasing two "colplete series" editions. I don't think that's happened before.

the retrospective might but it may be a different one or just cut back a bit. everything else i doubt.
normal features for season 10 might wind up being a couple commentaries, deleted scenes, a superman featurette, some sort of look back thing, maybe a recap of the series, and maybe a couple interviews or behind the scenes things with old cast members returning like JS, AO, and MR.

if its not on the normal set then i assume maybe it will wind up being an exclusive at best buy or wal mart or something. while i like exclusives id rather them just put bonus feature stuff in the dvd sets themselves. most people could probably let go of a free shirt or keychain or whatever but most people would most likely want to see some extra footage from a tv show or movie.

I've already got season 1-4 on dvd, season 5 on hd dvd, and 6-9 on blu. I probably would of bought it, if it were on bluray. Considering that seasons 5+ have already been release on blu, would it really of been that hard to master the first 4 seasons? Yep I dont think I'll buy the complete set was so excited for the blu-ray, as I own some blu ray and some dvd not worth it. On the other hand I might as well just buy the HD versions of season 1 - 4 on itunes or something.
Lost was released on blu-ray the complete series, and that was around $200 for a blu-ray.

Lost, Deadwood, and Battlestar Galactica were complete on Blu-Ray. If a show goes back and re-releases seasons on Blu-Ray, the chances ae 99% that they're gonna get a Blu-Ray complete series set. If they don't, then you're gonna get a DVD only release.

If they have separate discs devoted to the special features on the complete sets, I doubt we'll get the full retrospective on the Season 10 release. It's a shame because that's the only feature I care about, save for commentaries.

Supernatural started to release its older season blu. Originally they started with s3 onward, then last year s1, and s2 out in June. ROME is all on blu. Star Trek The Original Series is all on blu.
24 did the same thing last year. Release an entire series set but only on DVD. It aired in HD from its first season so you know they can do it (just like smallville) but opted not do. Doing it right after the season ends is the optimal time? It has alot of popularity still (Lost released its season set within months of the series ending)
There's definitely a market for blu. I pretty much down buy dvd anymore Probably haven't for 5 or 6 years. It's hard when you know you're buying a format thats somewhat obscelete (allthough still popular, you know theres a better format).

I guess it's all about whether or not there's a demand for it and how many episodes they would have to transfer. Lost and Supernatural re-released in Blu while they were still on air.
Deadwood and BSG were shot in HD already so when they were put on Blu, it wasn't a big deal because they didn't have to do a full transfer. There's demand for Smallville and 24 to be put out on Blu-Ray, but I guess the studios don't want to seeing as though Smallville would need to transfer about 4-5 seasons and 24 would have to transfer 6 seasons.
We might see these shows on Blu-Ray later on, but I wouldn't count on it for awhile.

Didn't 24 and Smallville originally air in HD (and smallville's early seasons are on itunes in hd, and have reaired on hdnet in hd). So if they already have HD transfers shouldn't it be fairly easy? It's not like they were originally aired in SD, and no one ever made HD versions.
The one thing I find wierd is you can find HD versions of smallville season 1-4 fairly easy on the net as they've reaired and are on itunes, but not for 24. I guess 24 never caught on in syndication?

Season 10 DVD cover yet? What do you think it will have? The Blur? (red jacket) Lois too? Metropolis blue sky would be a nice change of pace.
Hmm, considering there aren't many options, they should have used Zod in the background in season 9. Hard to know what season 10 has been essentially about, I mean Darkseid, but where has he been this season? Only ones necessary I think are Lionel and Ultraman.

I kind of dislike that they did Clark alone for the cover of season 9 because I like seeing the other cast members on the cover and I think season 10 is a more appropriate place to have a Clark alone cover. Season 9 would have been the perfect opportunity to put any of Tess, Chloe, Oliver, or Zod on the cover.
This season, I think it would be cool if they did Clark in the front with Superman behind (a lot like they did with the Clark and Kara cover).

There is a pic--I think it's just a promotional pic for the web--of Clark, wearing casual clothes, standing in front of a dark wall with a dark Superman shield. Off to his right, is his shadow....in the classic Superman pose* with a flowing cape. THAT should be the cover. It's not about Superman, it's about his last steps to becoming Superman.
There's also one of him in his suit and tie.
Scratch that. To correctly show what the last season is about, the cover should be the producers and writers on stage, giving the fans the finger.
* By this, I mean the pose George Reeves has in the last scene of the opening title for the 1950's "Adventures of Superman".

Anyone know if Target, Best buy or Wal-Mart will have the two bonus dics as an exclusive special? I don't wanna buy the series set right now for it. Maybe one of those stores will be cheaper than amazon

Do you think they'll put bloopers on the S10. They don't do that anymore and they really should because some of those episodes probably had some great bloopers.

So for the Season 10 DVD...What extras do you hope for? What do you predict will be in them?
I'm hoping some footage from the wrap up party. Cast members, crew talking about their time on smallville. Also behind the scenes footage- filming the last episode.
Gagreels- there's gotta be some particularly since Michael Rosenbaum appeared for the last episode (even if it was a day.) but he seems to be the main one involved in it lol. But I have a feeling that won't happen :(
I'm pretty sure there will be a video with mixed clips from smallville season 1-10. But actually I think it would be good if there was an interview with cast talking about what was their favourite episode, challenging acting scene, etc. But can't really see that either lol.

I would like to see bloopers, deleted scene and any bonous stuff that's on the complete series box set. I already have season 1-9 nine, so not really in the market to have doubles of what I already own. And don't exactly have the pockets to do it either.
