Lex something along those lines, not sure if I had it completely correct, but I feel that Lex was also making a reference to himself

Did anyone else feel that Lex was really talking about himself when he said that?

WOW!!!
I thought of making this thread from this quote but I'm glad I found yours first! Finally, someone who thinks like me about this dialogue! You are right on with your observation. The price of Clark's secrets has been heavy and has contributed to what has happened to Lex and Lana. We don't get Superman without a little price tag!

Yes I thought that too. :)

I loved the subtext of that scene.

I loved that little bit of dialoge. Lex was referencig himself , as well, as what has been done to Lana. I also liked what Lana said to Clark about having his powers but remanining on the farm. clark mentoned that he did so to protect those he loved , at least that is what he thought. That little bit of dialoge was nice to becuase at least Clark is recognizing that some of his decision have not always been great or turned out the way he hoped.

Lex always tries to pass off the blame. Clark did not make Lana the way she is, it was without a doubt lex. Clark just always is afraid of hurting Lana so when something happens to her, no matter who caused it, he always blames himself for not being able to keep her out of harm and trouble, and Lex plays on that.

It is always so easy for Lex to say these things. Maybe he must look into a mirror when he say these words!
It was not Clark's fault! Lex is so stupid!
He just want to feel better because he knows that it is his fault and not Clark's!!!!

It seems that Lex has been doing this a lot recently. He accused Lionel of having created him (Lex) last week (or the one before, I can't quite recall). Now he's accusing Clark of having created the new Lana (with the obvious implication that Clark also created Lex). I'm not sure if he really means it when he says it, but it's as if he doesn't think anybody is actually responsible for their own behavior.

As in he abandoned him?

This applies to so many things in this show:

-What Lionel did to Lex all those years (seen especially at the end of Onyx)

-What Lex did to Lana

-What Clark did to Lana (this is according to Lex, I don't think Clark is in any way responsible for creating the Lana we're seeing now)

-Also how Jor-El probably felt after Brainiac, his own creation, was corrupted and turned against him and Krypton

Yeah instead of the ultimate villian, Lex has turned into the ultimate whining beyootch.

I thought the Lex and Clark scenes were superbly written in this episode. There was all kinds of subtext and emotion that makes watching interesting and fun!! Breath of fresh air from the supersex...

I loved the Clex's moment.I really think he was talking about himself,he was a little bit remorfull about what he has done to miss pink princess and Clark blamed himself also. But,both were wrong the only one who should be blamed for Lana's behaviors is Lana herself.Of course,Lex went too far with the fake pregnancy, playing with Lana' emotions(he is the villain of story after all). But,at the end,if she chooses to revenge herself instead of moving on it's her own choice.
