This thread is for the discussion of opportunities you noticed in the episode that could have been taken to improve the episode but weren't.

I think the explanation that the transfer of powers was only partial was lame. I mean the lightning didn't zap them for any less than it did Clark & Eric in Leech.
A much better way to have explained Lana's powers was to have a krypto time rift where we finally found out Clark's powers in Arrival were sucked out of him and absorbed by Lana 2 years later through the rift.

I disagree. In my opinion, having a time rift would have been a little too far-fetched. If I remember correctly, in "Leech", the lightning bolt struck Eric and Clark directly, without passing through any other objects other than the GreenK. But in "Wrath", the windmill acted like a lightning rod and channeled the lightning into Clark, Lana, and the GreenK. Maybe this indirect exposure to the lightning was the reason for the incomplete transference of Clark's powers?

^^So was Clark supposed to be half as strong/fast when Lana got the powers? After watching the director's cut and still seeing Clark superspeed, I thought Clark would have powers like superspeed, x-ray vision, and super hearing while Lana would have superstrength, heatvision, invulnerability, and superbreath.

I think it would have been reminiscent of the Flash comics if they would have done a time rift thing. In the Flash comics, Barry Allen got zapped by lightning and doused in chemicals that gave him his incredible speed. Later on after his death, Allen went back to the day he got his powers & became the bolt of lightning (speed force) that struck his past self and gave him his powers. I always thought it was great storytelling in the comics.
If they would have somehow connected the sun setting in Arrival with the lightning that struck Clark & Lana, they could have done something similar.
