Maybe I haven't been paying as much attention as I should, but aren't isn't the eclipse on the intro usually an orangey shade? Anyone got any thoughts as to why the eclipse was green this time around?

Because NBC is doing that whole Stop Global Warming thing
which is fine, despite my personal beliefs, but i dont like it crossing over into my shows, its annoying

It's part of NBC's Go Green week. It is not a political thing (or shoudn't be) and you don't have to "believe in it" because being kind to the environment has nothing to do with global warming. We should do so regardless of global warming.

Ummm, No. It is about NBC pushing the "green week" stuff. Their logo in the bottom of the screen was green as well.

Yeah, it's this whole annoying green week thing, they even forced SVU to throw in a recycling reference and show the one dude carrying a recycling bin...don't you love it when politics invade your lives without asking?

I thought about that too. Mainly because I read the spoiler that in the episode where Hiro stops the whole Earth, at the start of the next episode it won't be spinning.

I don't consider it a problem. I think politics is a good thing.

You would ;)
I have no problem with politics per se, I have a problem with a network using it's hold to espouse it's own political viewpoint and forcing every show that is a part of it to agree with it's politics and then ramming them down other peoples throats. But really, that's all I'm going to say about that as is not the place for such discussions...and I have insane pain and am on vicadin at the moment so...:(

How can having a green eclipse be "ramming them down other peoples throats"? It was subtle-- so subtle the creator of this thread wasn't sure what it meant.
Ramming it down our throats would entail someone coming on the screen and saying, "You WILL recycle on pain of death."

Oh, thankfully Heroes got off easily, I was referring to the rest of their shows this week. Although, admittedly, it's easier to stomach than those god awful Jerry Seinfeld Bee Movie shorts...I swear every time I saw him come on with one of those I wanted to jab and icepick into my temple.

Well, in Chuck, the only mention was "instituting a company recycling program."

Did ya see SVU? that whole scene with the recycling bin and all was soooo forced it was almost comical, you just about see all the actors rolling their eyes and groaning.

Well, NBC/Vivendi/Universal does own SciFi.

Oh, you didn't say you were watching sci fi hence I figured you meant NBC, which is what the rest of this was talking about. NBC owns Sci Fi right? SO I guess they are spreading the green.
