West seemed truly afraid and surprised that Noah was Claire's father. West also didn't seem to be involved with the company according to the previews. Is West really just an uninvolved kid?

I think the episode they go into Wests past on is the one HRG is gonna be killed.

Nah, I believe he plotted this thing too tho there's no evidence to my argument haha. Maybe his intention was to separate Claire from HRG for wutever reason that benefits the company, that is if he really does work for the company. But wutever, I don't like him.

I don't like him, because he's a brat, and because they've written him badly. Kring and Co, could've given him more layers from the get go, but it looks like we're going to get whatever depth there is at the last minute and that just sucks from a pacing point of view.

i concur! west is so not trust worthy...

Yeah West isn't completely innocent in any of this, he's dirty... His mission seems to have a lot to do with turning Claire against her father....sounds like a Company ploy to me.

Yeah he's kind of a jerk but I haven’t seen any connection between him and the company or him and Adam.
He is a minor character. Is it possible he will just get killed off soon and his death will propel Claire into some decisions?
I admit that I hope that West is not bad - for Claire's sake. Claire doesn't need another confidence shaker.

I don't think this happens very often, but I completely agree with you.
He's a creep, whether a company creep, an Adam minion creep, or just your garden variety kind, he's still a creep and needs the Ivan treatment from Noah.

I don't think he's with the Company but he still seems a bit shady and too happy. Plus, the whole "what are you eating for breakfast? Come downstairs and I'll show you!" scene was really uncomfortable. I mean, stalker much? Seriously, he couldn't have taken her to IHOP or something? Why does he have to be in her house?

That's why I'm saying he works for Adam. Adam obviously wants to form his own group of superheroes but use the new generation and kill off the old generation. So to get Claire, he sends West. And obviously Adam decided to recruit Peter himself.

After Claire repeatedly told him how his family is trying to lay low and disapproves of having a boyfriend, then West shows up for breakfast? Stalker much?
Common, don't tell me he didn't notice the family photos which I'm sure are in display as much as Mr. Muggles diva photos. So, did Claire also forget that her dad took a bullet for her and the entire family is sacrificing their freedom and happiness for her secret while she's getting mack on? The mom & Claire really have no street smarts. Why not let the milkman in on the secret as well? "Hey my husband kidnap freaks with power, come in for muffins & latte."

Yes, Claire is not being very bright. But I do think she's seeing something odd about West. His on a mission I tell you. Recruit Claire. Imagine how unstoppable Adam's group would be if he had Peter and Claire on his side.

^ True. The whole breakfast thing after she had made it clear that her father doesn't want her to date (that's what that whole cheerleader thing was about) was a bit stalker-ish. (Reminded me of a couple of creeps I dated in high school) But can we write it off as an infatuated teenager? Creepy doesn't necessarily mean evil.

i think west is alright. as for the tagging of west, every one gets tagged. it is explained in season one that the two lines by they're neck are to track everybody (dangerous or not) because there isn't always going to be a molly around. i don't think he's this years issac and working for the company.

Maybe he's just creepy? Can't a guy be creepy without being in the Company or working for Adam?
I still don't like him though, what exactly does Claire see in him? "Oh it's the way he follows me around and tells me to shut up..."

i dont want to see sylar fly. better for west to die someother way.
actually i think that west is the most normal of all the heroes. he acts just like plenty of teenage boys i know. he has no regard for authority and he doesnt care about what his girlfriend requested of him. hes all about number 1 and he enjoys that he has a girlfriend who can do cool things.
im not saying this to insult the guys but plenty of teens act like this, they feel they can do whatever they want cuz they are still living at home and dont have to pay for anything or really take care of themselves and that goes for girls to. its not until they graduate and get out into the real world that many teens grow up and start taking responsibility for their actions.

This being Heroes and with their love of twists and turns, I think it's pretty much a given there's a lot more than meets the eye with West (ie. he's a Transformer:eek:  j/k).
West is probably a Company-sent spy whose mission is to undermine the relationship between Claire and her father, to have Claire turn against him or something similar, after having first earned her trust to make it an easier task.

I don't know, he looked pretty freaked when he saw HRG.
If he were there for the company he would have known all about him.
As well as he was surprised when he first saw Claire regenerate.

As well as he was surprised when he first saw Claire regenerate. The whole being freaked by seeing HRG thing could be an act. And he might not have fully known the extent of Claire's abilities (if at all) so he was genuinely surprised for that reason. And seeing a toe grow back is a surprising sight even if he DID expect it. heh
I'd say it's way too much of a coincidence that the town they happened to move to happens to have a "hero" in it at the same school as Claire who had a past involvement with HRG. Either West was sent by the Company, or he tracked HRG and his family down all by himself, seeking his own personal revenge on HRG.

This show proved in the first season it loves coincidences such as that. I think Mo said something like they are drawn towards one another without really knowing it. Kinda like how the porn site Ando visited just happened to be Nikkis. And how He and Hiro just happened to be driving down the same road as DL and Micah when that car exploded. And how of all the places to stop for grub, Hiro and Ando chose Charlie's diner...etc..etc Not saying that West may not have some greater connection to things, the jury is still out on that, my only point being, well, this show loves coincidences.

...is it at all fully possible that Claire is well his first girlfriend, and the first person who he has encountered that is similar to him and because of that he is letting his adolescent mind get the better of him...don't get me wrong i hate the guy, but he might just be acting as your typical teenage guy.
I don't know how old the people on this topic our but for the guys do you remember when you had your first girlfriend...i'm pretty sure the things you were doing if you looked back at them were well...creepy....

^ Agreed!
Teenagers can be creepy. A guy I broke up with in 10th grade wrecked his car into a light poll in front of my house in middle of the night. While I was a little weirded out I also felt flattered - which is also a creepy teenage response.
I personally don't think West is involved with the company. But I think he could be easily persuaded or manipulated.

West does not seem to have much respect for Claire's desire for keeping the whole thing "hush hush" as he suggested and perhaps pressured Claire into revealing her powers to another person (even if that person may not be considered a "credible" source). Also, after Claire had made it clear that her father wasn't big on the whole boyfriend thing, he visited her house, introduced himself to her mother, and made her breakfast, clearing displaying a disrespect for Claire's wishes. All that said, however, I don't think West necessarily demonstrates much to indicate that he has some evil allegiances or anything. As people have said, this may simply be his "teenage boy" personality thing, not necessarily flowing from some ulterior motive.
Mischael12
11-07-2007, 12:40 PM
Like i said he could just really be excited to find someone who is just like him. He has no worries to hide his powers so its fully possible that he feels that Claire shouldn't be that way either.
What i want to know is...does his parents have powers since its been shown to be genetic on some level.

Again, his past connection with HRG is too much of a coincidence. Something definitely stinks about that whole story West gave Claire. He's been playing Claire from the start if you ask me. And HRG is the target.

I just looked at that part on the nbc rewind, he only said 'a couple of years ago', so the timeframe fits with when we saw Claire pick out his glasses for him.
