It looks like the virus is not turning out the way it was predicted to when used on Niki. So this must meen it can possibly spread easily to foreshadowing the future Peter was in. Also Nathan was holding Niki when she gave it to herself and Mrs. Petrelli said Nathan died in the first wave or something to that extent.

Thats what viruses do; i mean HIV can change over 1 million times genetically in a patient during its first stages and over 100 million times in the later stages.

I'm not surprised that it developed an immunity to Suresh.
