I was really impressed with Christopher Heyerdahl as Zor-El. Yeah, there was some corniness to the part but mostly, he looked "Kryptonian" - just something about the way he looked. Actually, I could even imagine him as the Green Goblin or The Submariner because of his facial features. Check his credits out:

Notice in his film credits that he and Helen Slater have shared the screen in the (not-so-great) movie "Nowhere in Sight" ?

I liked him as Zor-El. Certainly liked his 'look'. Amazing what a wardrobe and hairstyle change can do for a person. He had the right mix of menace and passion. There's something not quite right about Zor-El, and Heyerdahl played it perfectly. He's not insane - that would have been too easy. He's got his own passions and ideas about what's right and wrong - which isn't an easy line to walk. Hope to see him again in the series!
