Is it me or has Clark gradually been handling Kryptonite just a little better? Used to be he'd just turn into a quivering puddle of goo if he could even see it.... Now he's actually able to carry on a (normal strength) fight in a room full of the stuff. (e.g. Knox, and tonight's ep). And he even pulled off a super heart starter punch to revive Kara in the midst of it. I say cool.

I think that Lionel had wheeled away the majority of the GreenK by the time Clark did his heart-punch thing, but otherwise, I agree with you that he's toughing it out. Good for him. :)

He's older and stronger now; he's probably more used to being around it as well.

Ha ha ha, it all seems depend on the writing how much Clark is effected by kryptonite - he's not getting any stronger. Only 2 episodes ago when the beauty pageant girl whipped up kryptonite out if the ground Clark fell over like a milk bottle

I have a theory that I use to get past that particular inconsistancy.
You have to figure that Kryptonite is a radioactive material right? It makes sense that some pieces are more radioactive than others, regardless of size.
Akin to low-grade plutonium and weapons-grade plutonium, one would have higher radioactive properties than the other.
So a small piece of Kryptonite could have highly radioactive properties, yet a larger piece could emit almost the same amount of radioactivity even if it is a lower grade just because of the larger quantity.
I believe for Clark any resistance to Kryptonite is based on the radioactivity of the material, but also to an effect willpower plays a hand too. In "Lara", Clark pushed himself even harder because Kara was in danger, regardless of how much it hurt.

Even in the comics Kryptonite doesn't effect Kryptonians the same way every single time they're around it. It's suited to the particular needs of the story.

Yes i noticed that too.. but if you remember the first season .. i think in the first episode.. when he gets hit by Lex on the bridge... in a discussion with his dad.. he tells him.. "i didn't dive in after lex.. he hit me straight on." .. and put his hand inside that saw machine.. telling me.. this was not known.. also he mentions something about not getting any scratches or bruises.. although i dont know if it's the same epi... so as he gets older he gets stronger.. and wiser.. he resembles so much Superman right now.. the way he carries himself..
well i think he's not less vulnerable.. i think he just sucks it up more.. remember in Jinx he held a small piece of Kriptonite and tried to throw it through the hoop... thats the same size as the rock Lana had around her neck in Epi one where " he couldnt come 5 feet" before turning into a total freak show..jaja

I agree that when Clark puts his mind to it, he is able to push through the pain. He put his cousin and her safety ahead of himself, and I found that so endearing.

Since they were using the stuff in an IV on Kara, I would think it would have to be greatly diluted. Actually, no matter who you were using it on, because it would clog the veins otherwise. So there probably wasn't as much total kryptonite in the room as when he runs into whole kryptonite meteors.
