This contrived looking up at the sky after Kara stuff has gotta stop. He jumped after Lana when she took a swandive last week; you'd think he could JUMP fast enough to catch Kara.

Maybe they'll change his name to Bor-El.

It does make him look like a dolt.

At this point, Clark and Kara might as well march into Lex's study and say: "we're space aliens, and we can kick your ***. Happy? Now GO AWAY."

I know...I thought at the very least, he could of made a super jump and at least tried to catch her.

Its been said that Kara will teach him to fly later this season but that he will do more falling than actually flying. We just have to be more patient i suppose..

Clark is sort of a short bus Kryptonian. He should have figured it out for himself by now.

I don't think a flying clark will solve anything. clark still too afraid of exposure.

I wish he would at least float unthinkingly, and then drop when he realized he was floating. That would at least hint that he just doesn't know how to do it yet.

They did have him floating over his bed in the pilot, and also indicated he was flying in his dreams toward the cave when Jor-El was wanting him to unlock it. I just think it's a psychological thing and he hasn't really tried.

Having Kara fly and Clark not when he has been here longer makes no sense in terms of contiunuity. Its season 7 not 3, time for him to fly.

I was fine with the whole not flying thing for 3 or 4 seasons. Now, especially with Kara around, he looks foolish not being able to fly or even trying for that matter.

It seems like he isn't even trying - that's the frustrating thing. If it were me, I'd be out in that corn field for hours each day trying to figure it out.

We saw him work for some of his other abilities - he just doesn't seem all that interested in flying. Which is CRAZY!

He did that -- remember -- help me out, guys, I don't know what season/episode. I just happened to be watching re-reuns on abc Family channel and saw it. He was in bed and was floating in his sleep and when he woke he freaked out and fell.

The mention of Clark flying (or lack thereof) has been brought up in almost every single episode this season, and we're only six in. They keep alluding to it, and it's probably not ignorant "no tights no flights" anymore. They know they're taunting us at this point.

I'm confident Clark will fly toward the end of this season or early on in Season 8. They're building it up way too much to stretch it out over the next season and a half to the very last episode.

Then again, these are the creators who waited six agonizing seasons for Clark to finally tell Lana about himself...

Oh well.

Last week's flying down is enough to keep me optimistic. And yes, that was flying. I don't care how good at skydiving you are, flattening your body to fall faster does not DOUBLE YOUR SPEED.

Heh, and SmallFarmGirl, that was actually Episode 2 of the entire series. He's had the inkling that he can fly for a long time.

Clark really has to learn to fly so that he can keep with Kara.

Hmmm, perhaps there are deep rooted psychological issues here.
Flying may be something that is too intense for Clark, his inability to "get up there" may have to do with other "getting up" issues.
perhaps ****** or Cilalis might help "lift him up" a bit ;)

All about Clark

I think that's the point of Kara (TPTB), that Clark doesn't want to fly (not a human thing to do) and so Kara's here to get Clark to want to fly, to find the necessity in it. He just has to feel like an idiot a couple more times.

I think in reality he's just closed his mind to it.

I'm so glad so many people feel the same way I do. It'd be annoying enough without his cousin taunting him about it every show now it seems like. It just seems lame at this point.

The creators of the show should get off their "no thights no flights" kick and have Clark fly. It is fine that he won't be wearing any thights but having his female cousin always show him up by flying away when he ,supposedly, can't is pretty silly. By having Kara fly before Clark himself has pretty much has made Clark seem less unique on his own show.

EXACTLY RIGHT! He looks like an Idiot....I remember thinking this when the Martian Man Hunter first appeared.....but at least he was older......still made me realize Clark was taking to long........and man.....Kryptonians, with all their Superior "Earth Solar System" given abilities......and for all their advancements.......aren't portrayed very well on Smallville.....they come accross as either Idiots like Clark....or God like Status Wanna-bees who are psycho and bent on either destruction or world domination............With this show.....I think I prefer Psycho.....at least they're far more interesting.

He needs to read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

"There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. It knack lies in learning to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Clearly, it is this second part, the missing, that provides the difficulties."

Oh how I love that book - best set of books ever....Voon!

Personally I am not that bothered about Clark flying. You guys are building it up so much that when he actually does, it will be such an anti-climax for you THEN the 'Clark flying was so lame' or 'Six seasons for that???' threads will start.

You read it here first!

ugh ...you get over it.

As long as they keep almost flying every other episode and keep using REALLY lame "outs" when he actually flew (nuh-uh he didn't fly it was Kal-El who flew). I'm gonna keep right on griping about it.

And seriously, that's what the writers want. I mean come one, aren't you getting all the fly-teasing they've been doing? They want us fighting about it on the boars.

At this point, however, not flying is just plain Kryp-tarded. I mean it's season 7 already! It made sense at first, and I was all for it, but now it's been too long. Come on writers, it's TIME now.

I've got a ten year old kid. When she was three I wouldn't let her play with scissors unsupervised. Should I keep that rule now just to be consistent?

P.S.
We are one episode away from a road runner moment where Clark runs off a cliff and doesn't fall until he looks down, forces himself to NOT fly, and finally falls.

I still say he had to fly down pretty dern quick to catch Lana when she was pitched off the building. She was falling for at *least* half the height of the building, and even torpedo diving, i do not think he could have caught up to her just with gravity and decreased wind resistance. And I doubt there was anything he could have "pushed off of" to propel himself downward. Someone do the math. And to stop? He goes from super acceleration to stopping on a dime perfectly to catch her? Torpedoing, he would have cut her in half if he was truly moving that quick. He flew down, even if he didn't know it. (I know I know it's just a stupid TV show....) but to make sense of it... he hadda fly. So there - he flew. We should be happy! See? Even if Miles/Al didn't intend it that way, physics says otherwise. :-P

Summising that Clark flew is not the same as him actually flying

If they don't explicitly show something or mention it, it's as good as not happened

I maintain that Clark DID sleep with Simone even though he said he didn't afterwards as he was under Simone's hypnotic influence ALL NIGHT - and she made it pretty clear that she wanted him to make love to her.

However as Clark said they didn't it doesn't really matter what I think 'cos as far as the show is concerned it didn't happen. I still think that Clark lied though and he knows he can get his thang on with the human girls :p

It would be great if he flew. The way they're doing Kara flying, doesn't look bad. So it wouldn't look bad if he flew either.
