It has been suggested that Peter's memory loss is connected to Sylar's power loss.

The theme of the polar opposites between Peter and Sylar seems to be building on that idea, with this episode showing how a Sylar with no powers can be just as evil as a Sylar with power, and a Peter with a lot of power and no memories of his good and emphatic nature having to prove -- I expect -- that he can still remain a good person.

On the other hand, they could also be going for a redemption of sylar, although I haven't seen any suggestion of that yet.

hmm i suppose anything's possible but i don't think Sylar will change and i think Peter is still essentially a good person and wants to do the right thing.
