All through out season 6 & 7, there was nothing interesting about Clark. The only good parts was the potential for a good spin-off show about Green Arrow, the JLA, Martian Manhunter or Kara…… Tonight’s episode was the first time they did anything interesting with Clark since Season 5. It really had steps building the story of how Clark becomes Superman.

I would except for the end, I mean, I get AlMiles asociate Clark thinking globaly with Superman and well if this is a journey story Clark puting the cape and flying down to Sudan to stop an ethnic cleansing would kill the point of a journey story but Cmon, did he have to say : "Im not going anywhere, I have everything I need here"

Even self absorbed SB realized she would have to let him go for a higher calling and thos words was all he could come up with, I would have like at leas something like:
Clark looks towards the horizon and says: " Look Lana, I... my powers...Maybe ( he looks down, then turns towards the sky) Someday, who knows (holds her hand and looks her in the eyes)"but for now Im happy we´r together"

I dont know, something, just a tiny hint that he probably maybe, might have considered once, in the back of his head, doing something globaly with his powers..

Maybe... Someday...Who knows,

Whoa! "I have everything I've ever wanted.....I'm not going anywhere..." I think this might be the biggest clue that Clark is about to take off, that something big is about to happen to make Clark want to leave SV. there were so many anvils falling in this episode that I am surprised that one didn't fall on Lana.

It was a bit of a teaser episode, with the writers teasing us with what so many believe ( Lana holding back Clark) and with the possibility that Clark is understanding his role, then again his reluctence to be anythign more that a "farm boy" is still pretty obvious.

I really don't like how it seems that there must be ANOTHER event to get his buttocks in gear, truly I wish he would just realize his role and have done with it.

Agreed.. there were a few things that irked me but for once I have to say the Clark aspect and stroy even the conclusion between Lex and Ben were very up to my standands.

The fact that Clark has a higher power and that people think he hasn't done anything does kind of irk me a little. I realize his a reactive hero, but that's becuase he's been hiding for so long and he's so much like Johnathan. IMO it's not even that he's afraid of being discovered, it's just reflex. But this really gave a chance for it to be explored...but exploration takes more then one eppy writes just so you know..

No offense but this episode IMO was a total recon of Clark's development..

He's back to wanting a normal life and to live at the farm... All those words Oliver told him, Chloe saying he's a hero, Him accepting his destiny in Bizarro/Kara this episode had it's good parts but it was a recon of all his development with that line... he wants to stay in smallville now and live with Lana... and the final scene proved it... He leaves his destiny and heads towards Lana

Yeah, he may be wanting a normal life, but he is realizing more and more that that life is not his to have. I don't see this as a "recon", but rather as a continuation of what he is already realizing. Pretty much everyone and everything is reinforcing to Clark that his destiny has yet to be fulfilled. And like Clark once said, destiny is another way of saying you have no choice. He knows this, and I think that he is slowly accepting his "fate". I think it is wiser for Clark to tread carefully on the rest of his life rather than go off half cocked.

Season 6 was pretty one dimensional, but not just this episode, I think all of Season 7 thus far has had great soon-to-be Superman Clark moments.

Aw, I thought it was a sweet line. This is the first time Clark has ever gotten to have what he's always wanted. Let him have it for awhile. I like happy Clark. He's been miserable for like a year and a half. I want Clark to embrace his destiny too, but I would much rather that he get to have what he's always wanted, then eventually choose to leave it behind then not ever get it and choose his destiny because there's really nothing else to do.
