View Full Version : Lana and Clark: Not so intimate anymore huh?
misconception

I've noticed an interesting thing ever since Clark and Lana reunited. In the previous seasons when Clark and Lana were together, they always kissed and embraced each other and showed each other affection. However in this season, it seems as if Lana and Clark are not so intimate as they have never kissed yet. They're only intimate moment was seen when Clark flew off the building to save Lana, and in turn they nuzzled their noses together.
You know what I'm talking about right? those scenes where you expect clark to kiss Lana, but he really doesn't. It's as if they aren't dating at all. That's also why I do not think this is the real Lana, and that this Lana we saw in 'action' was the clone that Lex had set up.
your thoughts?:D

I don't know. Lana did say those one liners to Clark about sex. I think that Clark's fear of hurting her may still be an issue. One that I'd like to have a conversation play out on the show between those two.

The first time they did the deed, Clark was powerless. Maybe they tried it again with his powers...and it wasn't as... err...pleasuring for her. Haha, it probably makes things a little awkward.

That's kinda what I think too. And I think that makes sense, since they never resolved that issue. I didn't get the impression from Lana's insinuations that the "burning calories" thing was actually going on, but more like hints.

I think they are exchanging their pleasantries in one bedroom every night.

No, i don't think they are having sex. I've heard that TPTB won't let this happen as long as Clark as his powers. It goes against mythos or something. That said, they are obviously sharing the same bed. Lana said that when she got home, he was already asleep and he looked so cute, she didn't want to wake him. Now I could be wrong, and he could have fallen asleep on the couch, but I think they are sharing the same bed.
I think they are intimate in a different way. There were some really great intimate moments tonight. Intimacy doesn't have to be just kissing and sex, the three are not synonymous. Intimacy also involves conversations, looks, do things to help one another, etc. So I'm glad they are showing it from a different angle.

I've been wondering the same thing. I totally expected them to kiss, but nope.
Clark had more heat with Christina Milian's character when they were "reading lines" but even so, Clark and Lana really DO love each other.

Your right and there won't be a scene of their sexual relationship in Smallville, but we are living in the early 21st and almost 40 years after the Sexual Revolution. They are having sex in whatever way that they find mutually enjoyable and ClarkMan is in no way saving himself for some later LL>

well wen she hinted aobut another way to lose calories she was hinting it, but its like they havent cuz she was like there are other ways but we havent done it kind of way. which implies that they havent, and then about the kiss the only reason y i can think y they havent is cuz they dont want to be tempted?

I think the problem is that people equate intimacy with sex or just overt physical signs of affection. There is more to intimacy than just that.

You can think that, but we will never know. They could thow those scenes in there but the writers are choosing to show the non-intimate/lack-of kiss stuff for some reason. Proving that Clana is nearing its end. Clana is basically dead...

I wish they would bring it up - they did before! Some versions Clark can be, errr intimate, I don't know how they'll go about here. But at least mention it sometime :/ It's an important issue about his development. Are they going to continue the thought Superman can't be intimate, or that he can, or...?
Grrrr.

i think they still got the heat its just they taking their time...like they are intimate in other ways...but idk we need some ClANA hottness onscreen!

if it wasn't that pleasurable, then why would she mention another way to "burn calories" ?

I don't know, I don't see the chemistry this season.... I don't know whether it is intention or not. Looks like they have fallen into a brother/sister routine. Where are the deep kisses, especially when he found out she was alive? Clark has had more chemistry with every other woman on that show-maybe it is intentional with all that Lana is doing. Maybe it is the beginning of the end. The writers have been having clark getting flustered lately around other women, if he was in love, other women would not get him so excited.

I get the feeling that it's just the writing/directing, like they are trying to build up to something. Because if they had them kissing all the time on camera, it would seem like too much.
I agree, it seems very awkward. Just weird. Their talking and the way they look at each other seems 100% sincere, but then the physical part is just . . . not natural.
Wherever the writers are going with it, I don't think it's working.

I hope we do find out what is going on with them eventually. I would hate it if the season went on and it was never addressed. Do you think the writers are doing one of those "let the audience decide for themselves" things?

If they are having sex, I don't really want to see it... so I guess either way I should be happy.
But from Lana's comments today, it seems that the snuggle bunnies are hopping.

you know what i think? I think Tom's wife was like "They always have you kissing her! I want it to stop!!"
and Tom, being whipped, said "ok sweetie"
and thats why lana and clark don't kiss anymore.

Lana is so thin right now that Clark would snap her like a toothpick, he is fattening her up for the "kill" :)

I think TPTB are doing exactly that. Clana fans hoping that they are intimate off screen. Clois fans hoping they don't do it. This way they don't break any rule.
I think Clana is weird and awkward too. IMO there're no problems of acting-directing-writing-editing or whatever. They want this relationship looks this way. They show us Lana and Clark together, mature relationship, Clark's open finally. On the other hand they show us that it's not as perfect as it seems. There are still secrets, only this time it isn't Clark who hold back for good reasons. It's Lana hiding her "evil" actions.
The no kissing thing is just their way to show that.

you know what happens when you get married, nookie's the first thing they get rid of. Clark's experiencing married life with Lana first hand. Most sexually frustrated person on earth!

No, they aren't sleeping together it looks like and thank God for that small favor. Clark suspects Lana is not what she claims to be but is a wuss and can't bring himself to accept she's not the girl he always thoguht she was. Lana is a creepy little psycho who has added cruelty and embellement to her reperatoire and is playing at being sweet with no place to go and maybe Clark is getting a clue. He's really stupid to buy she got money from a settlement or that she doesn't have money of her own from her parents or Nell anyway because she obviously would.
Maybe he's making up for last season's being a philandering jerk with a married./engaged woman. Maybe he's thinking if she cheated on every BF, including him, and her husbandwith him then she's bound to do it again. Maybe he didn't buy her I'm poor now! crap and is struggling with what to do. It's disgusting enough that Lana has barged into the farm anyway and that Clark hasn't asked more questions and demanded answers from her. The lack of contact is intentional and it's time Clark got a pair and called Lana on her crap just like Lionel has.
agreed! I just watched the Lana and Clark scenes and yes the gaze was NICE when she was falling but there was still no chemistry, and I believe the directors are doing that on purpose to show they aren't really meant for each other
