I have an idea who they were gearing to, but I would like to get other's opinions on it!

I think it was a big "F*ck you!" to all of us (especially those Superman/Clark Kent fans)

From what I heard, I don't know if this the exact quote and maybe someone who actually watched the ep can confirm, but the obsessive fan was called psychotic and he's the one that said that Lana had to be sacrificed so that Clark can fulfill his destiny before he threw her off the building.

I got the impression that the guy was trying to kill Christina Milian because she wasn't supposed to be in Warrior Angel's life so early.

So in turn, that would be a smack in the face to all the people who complained "Lois shouldn't be in Clark's life yet".

I wish they went into more detail, in terms of Warrior Angel, about how "Different movies/TV shows can interpret the story differently and have their own take".. etc.

I thought the deal with CM was that her character was supposed to die in the movie, but doesn't? How does that make it Lois?

It's geared towards ALL those people who kept saying that Lana must die because she is in the way of Clark's destiny. She must be eliminated because she is keeping him from being the hero he's supposed to be.

Sounds familiar? It should :rotfl: It basically applies to the majority of this forum.

Hehe...it does sound pretty familiar. :p But I'm sure there was something in the episode that poked fun at 'Lois shouldn't be in Clark's Life yet' fans...

I'd say it makes fun of fans in general, since we tend to take the show more seriously that the creators.

Well, we finally got a shout-out to this kind of site. Unfortunately it kind of cast us in a negative light. I wonder if the makers of Smallville really scan these sites when thinking of episodes ideas.

It wasn't a shout out. It was an insult. They see us all as uber nerds who whine about comics.

It was insulting given how loyal a lot of fans here are and how we spend money to buy the DVD's and give more money to the people who made this episode.

In this episode it was mentioned how the comic fans have major influence on how the creators of comics are under the "influence" of the fans. Or you could say under the gun of their criticism. It was their way of saying, "this is how we see you". They even went to the extreme of showing a fan who went so dilusional he was going to kill twice just to "fix" the story.

They were insulting the obsessed and whiny fans, not all the fans. It rightfully cast said fans in a negative light, as they do nothing but bring negativity and obsessiveness to these forums. It didn't insult every fan that goes to fan forums, though. TPTB have endured so much hate don't they deserve to push back every once in a while?

Yeah, it is hilarious.

The biggest Chloe lead was looking for 'rabid' fans. Careful folks, if we get too heated they may come looking at us! :P

Craig has mentioned that KK is aware of the Lanarama comic strip and finds it very funny :D

I think it was more of them saying, what, don't like our story, too bad, we don't have to please anyone if we don't want to. I will say, I found it funny they only poked fun at the relationship crowd. You know, Lois is here too early, and Lana needs to be out fo the way. Funny thing is, they agree Lana needs to be out of the way, they just don't want her gone, as was shown at the end of the episode.

I will note, they did not address any of the more serious concerns some people have had about Clark's character.

Watch the last scene between Lex and the fan to see what the writers intended. It was definitely a shout out, not an insult. Ultimately the fan wouldn't tell Lex the truth about Clark. The fan's intentions were noble all along

Because they were shoehorning a character into the Warrior Angel story who wasn't a part of it anymore. Instead of meeting her later, like Clark meets Lois, she isn't a part of the series from the point where she died. Fans were mad because she wasn't supposed to be a part of the story.

But yeah, the show was a big FU moment. They see us all as big uber nerds who whine about the comics. They will do whatever they want with the story and won't respect it.

That was made obvious when the movie had that girl live instead of die, like in the comics.

I don't think it was an insult towards those who read comics, but to those who wish for Lana's death. As comic book readers, we both know that she doesn't die.

Another interpretation would be that they were making fun of the fans who say that the relationship between Clark and Lana is what's keeping Clark from becoming Superman. I used to think like this, but I see that the writers are trying their best to have them in a relationship which would not damage Clark's character development. Lana saying that she doesn't want to keep him from his destiny was an acknowledgment of that. Clark leaving the cape on the fence was their way of saying: we're not ready to make him Superman, not yet. Rightfully so, they still have two more seasons to go. What makes me happy this season is that despite the fact that Clark is in a relationship with Lana, he's not fixated on Lana and the relationship as his primary objective(s). That's how I see it anyway.

its so ironic to see how people moan at clark not becoming superman because its his destiny and time is moving on

i seem to remember these same people making a fuss over jor-el saying it, and many others

every1 was saying "clark should become superman because he wants to not because hes forced"

why doesnt every1 remember what they preach the show would be more enjoyable to them

The crazy fanboy ranting about "destiny" sounded pretty much identical to thousands of posts here and elsewhere. I thought it was both accurate and really funny.

Let's see, it all depends on what type of person you are and how you generally perceive life in general. You got to live and look at life with a sense of humour or you may lose it.

You can
see it as poking fun at is which in a way is true. Let's face it, everyone one of us can be neurotic and crazy...LOL.

But personally, I think it is an acknowledment to SV fans.
I find the whole thing very entertaining and funny and it is good
to know that someone out there (SV people) is paying attention to what we write on these boards.

So keep the neurotic, thoughtful, opinionated yet respectfull comments coming. It is what keep this show going, and I think a lot of us want this show to be around for at least another season or two.
