Ok, I've been so caught up that I just realized that she's not even in the credits anymore. What happened, did she not sign on this season?

No Annette O'toole left the show as a regular cast member, they had her go to Washington, D.C. near the end of last season to fill Senator Burke's seat after being assassinated by Wes Keenan (Lex's Prototype Super Soldier). However, it has not been ruled out that she would make guest appearances as John Schneider does. :)

Cool, I knew some of that. But had no idea that she was right out of it. Thanks.

I'm hoping John Schneider and Annette O'Toole will show up for the flashback sequences in Lara.

It would be nice if clark mentioned he had a mom or something occational. Of had him on the phone hanging up with her.

When TPTB write someone out of the story, it's like every character magically forgets that person ever existed. That's an example of bad storytelling.

They should have taken on a more advisory role like Martha and Jonathan had in Lois & Clark.

Clark asks for their help and they give it. As long as Martha didn't do the bad sculpting and laser art.

You know, they only have one hour a week to tell a story. I don't see a problem with them not mentioning the person written out of the story. I'm in college, I get along with both of my parents, and I only talk to my mom once a week. I talk to my dad about once every two weeks and he's paying for me to be here.

Just because Clark doesn't talk to or mention his mom during the one hour of T.V. time does not mean that he wouldn't be doing it off screen. Would people rather they junked up the screen time with useless stuff, just to end up with an insufficient amount of time to tell a decent story? Clark talking to his mom, not necessarily as important as other things. Chloe and Lana meeting up after Lana's return, useless.

I miss Martha too, she is such a HOT MILF. I had such a big crush on her when I saw her first in Superman.

I am hoping for this also. All I do is wish that they would come back in what ever form just to come full circle with Clark. They were such a staple in his life and now they are the forgotten few. Even Gabe Sullivan is ancient history in Chloe’s life. :\

yeah i was just realizing the other day that gabe totally faded away.

the kents = best tv family since the waltons! we NEED at least one more scene with the three of them reunited, even if it's a flashback. how cool would it be if jonathan went all obi-wan kenobi on clark?!

I haven't missed any of the departed cast members except for Schneider and O'Toole. To me, they really killed the heart of the show when they killed Jonathon. Gough and Millar have acknowledged the family element is a is a big draw for viewers. His death hasn't had any real impact on the Clark unless the writers find it convinient to have Clark mention him. The only real impact is they've had Lionel more or less take over Jonathon's role as Clark's surrogate father.
Martha hasn't even been mentioned once this season so far. I doubt we'll see her again unless it's close to the end of the season. Yeah, they said she could return for guest appearances from time to time but they've said the same thing about Pete.

*sigh* AlMiles decided to write Martha off to Washington D.C. for no reason. And it really is a stupid that they've decided that this should make Martha absent from the show. I mean, Clark has SUPERSPEED. We've seen him run from Kansas to Honduras in a matter of minutes back in season 5. Is it really that hard for him to pop over to D.C. to have a scene with his mom?

In any case, Martha is in Washington with Gabe Sullivan, Lucas Luthor, a resurrected Alicia, and Pete all working as her secretaries.

Did anyone think the the flyer for the Miss Sweet Corn pageant had a photo of a young Annette O'Toole as the former winner? Can anyone get a screen cap? There were several good close ups.

What are you talking about? Pete gets worked into the story all the time. Like remember that time when... um... and that other one where... oh...

;)

At least the Bee Girl had a single cameo!

Then who would make the hologram Superman to appear next to CK?!?!?! Chloe would have to take up laser technology. That would probably take a lot of studying... or by SV standards, 4 minutes.

Or even more easily worked into the show, have him make a mention of having seen her. Imagine how easily the following lines could be slipped into absolutely any episode:

Clark: Hey Chloe, sorry I'm late. I was having lunch with my mom.
Chloe: Your mom? Isn't she in DC?
Clark: Uh, hi. I'm the alien who can throw tractors, jump football fields, melt things by looking at them, and, oh yeah, run really fast.
Chloe: Wow, total blank out there. You'd think I'd be down with the superpowers by now.

Chloe or Lana or Lionel all work, the writing was pretty arbitrary. It would add a little humor and have just enough reference to show us that they remember she exists!
