At least she didn't slut herself out in Maxim like a lot of other girls do.

It was pushing it just a bit, but didn't quite cross that line.

Oddly enough, considering the stereotype of people my age, it does tick me off when someone so young is paraded in such magazines. I personally hope for the future at least this young celebrity (and current role model for many young girls) doesn't go that route as she gets older.

Nice pics, just wanted to say that Hayden risked her life to save some Dolphins that were slaughtered. To see her sobbing and so distraught just broke my heart.
Did y'all see that? She is a real Hero!

No, where did you see that at?

I saw it on the CBS News yesterday. This is the story, it doesn't say she was crying, but she was sobbing talking about the baby Dolphin:(

Hmmm...now, I applaud her dedication, however from what it sounds like she was misguided. Sure, we see dolphins as cute and friendly little things, but to Japan they are food apparently. That makes what she and the others did akin to a bunch of people trying to stop farmers here from killing cows for hamburger and steak. I am certain a number of vegans around here would salute that as well, but it is still misguided.

I seriously can't agree with the hunting and eating of dolphins. They're not human, but they're on an intelligence level of apes, and I believe we all can agree that eating apes, while perhaps not inherantly morally wrong, is still something to avoid.

However, this kind of protest is just a waste of time. Did they really expect that people who's jobs revolve around this practice would just give up because they were standing there? Spend the time and money on raising awareness and support.

Finally, it's kind of unsettling when people spend so much time working to protect animals when there are so many slaughters of human lives going on in the world today.

The slaughter of human lives though, or the terrible things humans do to each other, is a much larger, much more complicated issue. Tackling dolphin slaughtering, misguided or not, is a much smaller battle, something where perhaps she feels her efforts might actually make a noticeable difference, hence the underlying attraction to causes such as these.

It's sort of like that whiny John Mayer song, Waiting On The World To Change, lol...

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could
Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
It’s hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change

I don't think you should eat a dolphin, but you can't protest the policies of another culture. To impose Western values on a culture that's been around WAY longer than the US, is hypocritical.

I don't eat a whole lot of meat and I'd never eat, say, a dog, but I do support Koreans eating it. Because it's part of their culture.

Dog: Ruff! Ruff!
Man: What is it, boy?
Dog: Ruff! Ruff!
Man: You DON'T want me to throw you in this pot and cook you at 450 degrees for 1 to 2 hours??
Dog: *tail wagging happily* Ruff!!
Man: Sorry, I don't speak "dog".

*man throws beloved dog in oven*

is it just me that thinks she has a giant head? Maybe it's all that hair.... no offense to any of her fans - she's pretty but big head.....

In my opinion, believing something is wrong and yet not doing anything about it is hypocritical. My problem here is that there are so many massively more important things to devote time towards than save Dolphins from Japan.

Thankfully it moved towards something a bit more inttelligent.

From the very few interviews I've seen- there's nothing really definitive one way or the other. I know she's going Lohan, and she apparently (in my opinion misguidedly) works to better the world. So far, one of the few good role models for young girls. So far.

But if the Japanese-- a culture that's been around thousands of years before Western culture-- wants to eat dolphins, I cannot tell them they have to believe what Westerners believe.

What about Lacey Chabert?

True- arbitrarily forcing them to stop I believe would be wrong. Attempting to convince them that it is wrong however, in my opinion is another story.

To us, it's wrong. To them, it isn't. That's the difference. I cannot tell someone to abide by my culture's standards-- just as they have no right to force me to live by theirs.

I could only step in to say it's wrong if the animal is becoming extinct - in which case it would affect the whole world as a result of their actions. But I agree - you can tell someone one thing but you cannot make someone see things from your point of view or force someone to live the way you live (trying not to get too political here lol).

Hmmm....just my opinion I guess.

What do you mean going Lohan? She's had a lot of sides.

I mean one of those teen stars who should be a role model for their little fans but ends up drinking illegally, doing drugs, non stop partying, etc.

It was a short segment in the news. I don't know where to link to to show them. But they were really, REALLY immodest.

Edit: Check out comcast.net. There's a segment there aperently. And immodest was probably not a strong enough word- risque, or maybe over-sexualized is a better fit.
