View Full Version : Where the #*@% is Lionel

This is really pissing me off now. We have 2 heroes (Clark & MM) who know that Lionel was injured in the bursting of the dam and neither are out there trying to look for him. Clark hardly looked in Bizarro until he was interrupted, but never went back. Neither Clark nor MM are the type to give up on looking for someone, especially when that someone happened to be the emissary of Jor-El.
I wouldn't be surprised if the person who took him is the Kryptonian who is on Earth (though I would much rather have that mystery point towards Dr. Swann so they could finally properly close out Chris Reeve's character).
When are they gonna have Lionel on the show again? This is likely John Glover's last season, and I want them to fully take advantage of his presence before he leaves.
There are many interesting things going on this season, but at times I think it's too much. We haven't gotten any Lionel other than seeing his body dragged away. And there was no onscreen recognition of Lana being alive by Chloe. They also said that Lionel paid someone who was dying of cancer to admit blowing Lana up when Lionel had no time to do that. They never explained who helped Lana yet.
Bring back Lionel dammit!!!

Lionel is one of the greatest characters on the show.

In that last scene with Lana walking through that private sanctum full of view screens, I really wished we'd see a glimpse of Lionel on one of them!

I think this Kryptonian on Earth (if it wasn't Dr. Swann, which is what I'm hoping) is holding Lionel. Lionel is Jor-El's emissary, so my guess is that a Kryptonian who is still on Earth would have taken him.

All Lionel had to do was make a phone call. He has plenty of people who will do his bidding.
You could read the spoilers!

No spoilers for me. I want to see him on the air doing what he does best--being an MB.

LOL! Yeah where is Lionel? As a former emissary of Jor-el is he valuable to brainiac. You'd think MM would miss him. LOL!

Gloverīs Broadway engagement lasts till August. This is why he canīt be in the first 4-5 episodes this season. So this forces the writers into the Lionel disappearance story. (It was all in the Kryptonsite News, by the way.)
But you are right of course that someone should at least miss Lionel, even though they canīt find him yet. Cheap writing as always...

I checked imdb John Glover nothing in production is listed, is John Glover taking a leave or is he being written out?
I agree with the complaints about not explaining where he is.

He should be back within a couple weeks. However, that being said, I'm not sure why they aren't out looking. The only thing I can come up with is that he's been labeled as Missing. Because if he was presumed dead, there would have been a funeral.
Why they're not looking? Maybe as Clark said, they've been sidetracked.

I'm not sure why everyone is assuming there's another Kryptonian on Earth, what left that SOS may've been a copy of Brainiac (perhaps activated when his hard-drive was destroyed). Or it could just be a different type of alien whom knew the language like Titan. We're not sure, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. All I know is, counting Zod in his weird Phantom form, we've had 6 surviving Kryptonians (Kal-El, Nam-Ek, Atheyer, Zod, Raya, and Kara). I swear Lara better not've survived. @_@;;

I hope it's related to Swann. I would love to find out that he was Kryptonian and lost his powers either due to gold kryptonite or some other reason. It would make a lot of sense. He was checking signals in space as if he was expecting something. It's the proper way to bring his character to a proper close. It could explain why Jor-El teleported the key to him in Legacy.

Well i do remember that Lex gave clark the impression that his father was gone so maybe Clark thinks Lionel to be dead

I just don't think a well written Clark would stop looking for him until he found his corpse if he believed that.

Yeah I also think that the kryptonian mentioned may infact be Dr.Swann and that he had something to do with Lionel's death however how are they going to pursue that angle if that is the case since Christopher Reves is dead
xrayvision
10-19-2007, 09:35 PM
Well, instead of introducing a new Kryptonian, they could get into the history of his life and explain who he was and how he got to Earth and why he got the key in Legacy.

didn't he get kidnapped or something in the first episode of the season? he looked all dead-ish though he was probably just full of water from the exploding dam....
BRING BACK LIONEL!
xrayvision

Yeah. But what bothers me is that they don't at least show Clark or MM looking for him. I expected a scene where MM would stop by and tell Clark that Lionel must be found since he is Jor-El's emissary and any kidnapper of his can get dangerous information from him with the proper methods.
It would be cool if there was a renegade enemy Martian who MM had to track down and if the renegade Martian was looking for Lionel to read his mind and get back at Jor-El for some reason.

Thats what im saying!? If not show him, have mentions or something of him. I love John Glover character, hes awesome and considering this may be his last season, i think hes being taken advantage of.

That is what fueled my anger that started this thread. I want him on the air already. At this point, I don't even know if it's necessary to have Lex kill him anymore. But it will most definitely happen.

Lionel is the greatest character on Smallville. I really can't wait until he gets back next week. It really hacked me off that even if he's not there they don't even mention him. He is THE Lionel Luthor, Lex may hate him that doesn't mean he shouldn't look for him and Clark and MM need him they should be concerned too.
Lionel's a good guy and a brilliant character, we need him back!!!

I guess still kidnapped. I love the man in the show, whether good or evil, and hate they haven't showed him much in past seasons.

alot of that is due to John Glover's schedual they do not write him in alot of episodes because he has been busy on broadway
xrayvision

Even though I've been living in NYC my whole life, I never went to a Broadway show since those are not my type of thing. But had I known earlier that JG was in town, I would have gone to see him. He's a great actor and a great human being with all that charity work he does. Kudos to him.
adromidon
10-23-2007, 07:11 PM
yeah he is he was considering not being on the show for S7 but they told him they would work around his schedual as long as he can devote a certain amount of episodes to his schedual so he is still there just scattered for now
