View Full Version : Clark Keeps the truth hidden & Lana lies

When the truth comes out about Lana's lies, can Clark really get upset? He's keeping a big truth in that he won't be aging at the same rate as she will. Lana might like to know that, too. So at the end of the day it's a draw. The relationship will probably end, because the blasted powers that be can't let these two characters ever be completely honest. It's ridiculous. Big freaking deal, you stole 10 million dollars. If she had been truthful, would Clark have really cared? I think he would have gotten over it, especially if she had told him she was using the money to make sure that Lex never hurt anyone else with his crazy experiments. Heck, the JLA could help her. Didn't something similar like this happen with Ollie and some jewelry, and Clark got over that. So you can't age Clark - big freakin' deal. Lana would just have to understand and enjoy the time you two have together. These are such pointless things to keep from each other. I can hear Clark and Lana now,

"I wanted to protect that's what I kept my immortality a secret." "Oh my gosh, I wanted to protect you, too. That's why I lied." "But I like totally wanted to protect you more." "As if, I like so much to protect you, I'm even lying about lying." "Wow, I love you, Lana." "I love you, Clark."

Come on TPTB, step it up!!

Back then when Clark kept secrets from Lana, I thought it was great coz he's doing it to protect her...but now Clana are both keeping secrets from each other...gosh, can't stand it! Clark, just tell Lana u age slow! And Lana, tell Clark that u're...stalking Lex! Lol.

No prob, Operadiva. I'm just kinda disappointed with the route TPTB are taking. These are once again pointless lies that no regular person would care about. You stole 10 million flippin dollars. She probably would have gotten that in the divorce settlement anyway. Stupid, stupid. Letting Lana think that you can grow old with her - um, when she's 45 and you still look 25, she's gonna realize it. How long does he thing he can keep that a secret? Come on, Clark. Stupid, stupid. I'm a huge Clana fan, but if they keep going at this rate, I'm gonna scream just end it already. I guess I'll move on to Kara and Jimmy (Kimmy? or is it Karmmy? That relationship seems promising.

Maybe this really does need to be the last season. They don't have any storylines left. They are so boxed in by canon and the comics. I thought Kara was going to ask Lana, "If you two are so gah, gah over each other, why don't you just get married already?" In order for this season to succeed they need to stop rehashing stupid lies. I almost stopped watching Smallville during season 5 because of this. Season 6 was really good and now Season 7 is like going backwards with the lies and secrets again. Well, I'll stay with Clana as long as they stay together. We sort of got a foreshadowing deathblow tonight, but maybe they'll last most of the season (lies and all). I know they stay together at least until the new year. So, at least there's that.

Secrets and lies is what Clana is all about. Even after Clark Lost his powers and they were together in bed, they still kept the secrets and lies going. That is why Clana will never work.

What are you talking about DarkChilde? What lies and secrets when they were in bed? You mean Clark keeping the secret about his powers?

1. He is an Alien
2. The powers he had and what happened to them.
3. Where the other 2 Aliens went.
4. The first metoer shower was cover for his ship coming to Earth, which in turn killed her parents.
5. What the Stones were for.

maybe i haven't followed as closely, but does Clark know for sure he isn't aging at the same rate, at this stage? As far as it seems, he went age 1-21 just like all the other friends and people he knows.

It just basically shows why these two seriously are not meant to be together... the lies far outweigh their desires to be with one another..

For all the promises of a longer Clana relationship with Lana knowing about Clark's secret, nothing's really changed. It's the same cycle of secret and lies.

LOL Precisely! What also bugged me is the fact that Lana is still preaching about Clark making the relationship so distant because Clark kept all these secrets. I wanted to almost slap her and say "Get over it!" Everyone keeps secrets. Lana's need to know all secrets, and not just Clark because she pressed Lex about the same thing as well, just shows her own insecurities. Shut up already...

The problem with Lana is that her lie was just so unnecessary. She should have just confessed that she stole the money in order to escape and didn't know she would be able to return to Smallville. And worse, was that Clark suspected she lied.

And I really do give Clark a little slack because he seems to still be processing his immortality or whatever. If he doesn't tell her later on, yes it's a problem.

But we all knew Clana would fail, it is it's destiny, so it's funny actually that secrets and lies can still exist when so much of the truth is known. Also, Lana didn't react when MM mentioned Kal-el, so Lana must know quite a bit.

all their relationship is based on is secretz and lies and i have to honestly stand with Clark on this secret. it would very possibly hurt lana alot if she knew how he aged and that she'd die before him and he'll always be in his sexual peak for centuries...it would just destroy her!!

Yeah, I think Lana knows a lot about Kal-el and Krypton. I think Clark has hopefully disclosed a lot about that. But 'All about Clark' is right, it was an unnecessary lie. I don't think Clark would have flipped about the 10 million. I think Lana let Lex get to her again with his mind games by making her think that Clark wouldn't understand. Lex always does that with Lana when it comes to Clark. And she once again fell for it, unfortunately. She could have just told Clark, "Yes, I took it and I was going to tell you about it. I wanted to escape, dah, dah, dah, etc. Is my keeping the money going to be a problem for us? I'm using it to keep track of Lex and his crazy experiments."
The lie was all so unnecessary, but it was equally unnecessary for Clark to keep his powers a secret from Lana because he was scared of how she might react. Then he said he was keeping the secret to protect her. His story changed quite a bit in regard to him keeping the secret.
Yeah, the truth about his immortality might hurt Lana, but it would also make them realize that they need to make the time they have together now, count. "If we are going to be together, then we'd better marry now and start cranking out those babies, because sooner or later, people are going to start thinking that I'm your mom, Clark. And all the Botox in the world won't help that."

Sadly, the Clana relationship will not last, but TPTB don't have to make it end over such stupidity as these superficial lies and kept secrets. It's a real let down to Clana fans and I think fans in general.

Lets see the balance:

On one hand, we have Clark that just learned something that doesn't even know if is true or not, something that doesn't change the relationship if they really love each other.

On the other hand, we have Lana that stoled, lied, hide from authorities, let a innocent man taking the fall for her, stalked... This without talking about the spoilers.

So, yeah, the balance really tend for Clark's fault...

Seriously, can we once have a serious debate without biased-views about the Clana relationship?

Clark does know it's true. Kara made that pretty clear to Clark. And it would have serious implications for their relationship if you keep aging and your significant other does not. At some point their kids would be older than Clark.
I agree, Lana stole money, and lied but this was to get away from Lex. She set it up so that Lex would take the fall. She didn't know about Lionel hiring a man to lie and take the fall for Lex until Lex told her. At that point the man had already died. So that was not her fault. I can't blame her from wanting to get away from her deranged husband. Truth be told Clark and Lana have both told their share of lives in the name of "protecting one another."

But right now, he doesn't know, no matter what Kara says. But still, that doesn't change nothing, because Clark and Lois never had that problem, they always knew that someday she would die and Clark will still be on his prime.

No. Just no. Clark Kent is a person that doesn't believe on "protecting" crap. Last time that someone tried to "protect" Clark in the comics, she released an army of superpowered-cyborgs on the world (Diana killed Max Lord and Brother Eye released the OMACs). Clark is not Bruce Wayne. He always believe the moral hugher ground.
