Okay, so here's my latest fic. I'm sure that there's a few of you who will already be turned off from this fic considering who the author is. :\ But I figured out my problem with abandoning fics- I would start one, and have absolutely no idea of where I wanted to go with it. Well now, I wrote quite a bit of this and have an outline of where I'm going to go with it. So, this one will be completed. Okay, rant over. If you're willing to read it here it is. :)
~Part One~
3 months. It’s been 3 months since Lana was officially declared dead, and it definitely hasn’t gotten any easier for Clark. For the first couple of months he was trying to take everyone’s advice-- move on and get on with his life. But how was he supposed to do that when inside he knew that Lana was out there somewhere, and very well alive. For the past few weeks, he’s been putting in a lot of effort into searching for her, looking for clues, anything. He’s been grasping at straws trying to find even a hint about where she’d be. Lately, however, he’s been beginning to listen to what Chloe and his mother had been telling him--that he was in denial.
Beep. Beep. Beep. “Ugh…” Clark turned off his alarm clock, which read six thirty A.M., and shifted in his bed, opening his eyes up to bright rays of sunshine coming through his window. He yawned and swung his legs over the side of the bed, glancing at a picture of Lana as he stood up. “I’m not giving up on you.” He said to himself quietly. Clark quickly got dressed in a tight, white tee shirt and blue jeans. He made his way out to the barn and saw Kara come out holding a man up in the air by the back of his jacket.
“Kara…who is that?” Clark asked.
“I-I don’t know. I heard the dog barking and saw him sneaking around inside, so I hit him in the head to knock him out.” Kara wore a triumphant smile.
“Did you use your powers? Did he see you use them?”
Kara’s smile faded. “Didn’t we already have this discussion, Clark?” She rolled her eyes. “Don’t worry, he didn’t see anything.”
“Good. Um, come on, we should set him down in here.” Clark led Kara into the barn. Kara set the man down on a wooden chair while Clark left to get some cold water. He dumped it onto the man’s face to try and wake him up.
The intruder coughed and shook his head as a reaction to the cold water; after that the man just glared at Clark and Kara with out saying a word.
“Who are you?” Clark asked in a low, demanding tone.
The man said nothing.
Clark pulled the man out of the wooden chair by his suit collar and asked again, “Who are you!”
Still nothing.
“Just tell him before I kick your ass!” Kara shouted. Clark turned around and narrowed his eyes at her before continuing with interrogating the intruder.
“I’ll ask one more time…who are you?”
The man clenched his jaw before responding. “I…I am not authorized to tell you anything, sir.”
“Have it your way.” Clark smirked and tossed the man across the barn, but carefully as to not injure him too much.
The man groaned as he rolled himself off of the debris. “B-but Luthor isn’t worth it. I’ll tell you what you want to know.”
Clark kneeled down beside the man. “Did you say Luthor? As in Lionel Luthor, or…” Clark gritted his teeth. “…Lex.”
“Luthor, as in Lex Luthor.”
“He sent you here? Why?”
“To look for Lana Luthor.”
“It’s Lang.”
“What?”
“Her last name, it's...forget it, why did he want you to look for Lana? Is she alive?”
“Yes. He traced her to somewhere in China, but he doesn’t know her exact location. He wanted us to find some clues here that would lead us to her.”
Clark thought for a moment and a smile came to his face. ‘I knew it. She is alive.’ His thoughts turned back to the man in the barn and Lex. “How do I know you won’t go running back to Lex and telling him about this?”
“Because there’s nothing to tell. I didn’t see anyone or anything that would lead to Mrs. Luthor.” He smiled slightly. “I’m leaving the country, anyway. I’m his right hand man and I’ve seen him kill his old assistants for disobeying the slightest order. After my next pay check I’m gone.”
Clark nodded his understanding. “Sorry about--” Clark gestured to the old table he threw the man into.
“It’s nothing.” The man brushed himself off and then left the barn to go tell Lex of his ‘failure’.

Woof…WOOF!
Clark laughed and scratched Shelby’s back. “You’ll get used to her Shelby. Kara’s not that bad, you’ll see.” He finished up tightening the bolts on old farm equipment and stood up. “Hey, you scared Shel—” Clark’s eyes widened and the smile on his face disappeared. He dropped his wrench and stepped forward. “Lana.” He caressed her cheek just to make sure he wasn’t just seeing things.
Lana leaned into his touch and smiled. He dropped his hand and pulled her into a tight hug, lifting her off the ground. She ran her hand through his hair, and pulled away just enough to look into his eyes.
After Lana was set firmly on the ground Clark led her into the living room, over to the old worn couch.
Lana turned to the side so that she could face Clark.
“You know…I never really believed you were gone, but at the same time I can’t believe you're sitting here in front of me.” Clark grinned and placed his hand on Lana’s thigh. “I’m so happy you’re back.”
Lana smiled wide in return. “I’m happy to be back, Clark.” She cleared her throat. “When I was in China all I could think about was you, and I felt so bad about not telling you the truth... but I was doing it to protect you.”
Clark shook his head. “It’s feels so strange hearing it the other way around. I guess you kind of have a taste about how it feels to be Clark Kent, huh?”
“I guess so. I really am sorry, Clark.”
“Don’t be. I’m actually proud of you, it was really selfless how you…” Clark paused and swallowed hard. “…Married Lex and came up with some scheme to get out from under his grasp, and then not tell me for my protection. Just please don’t do it again.” He chuckled. “I love you too much to let you go through something like that alone.”
“Well we’re a couple now aren’t we? We’ll make decisions together from here on out, promise?”
“Promise.” Clark grinned and leaned in for a kiss.
