What a great episode!!!
Tom's acting is always at its best when he is red-k clark.
The jumping scene was amazing. as was clarks rant at the party even towards his own mother.

O.K., miserable so-and-so that I am, I was irritated by one or two things in this episode, so let's get them out of the way first.
1) Chloe and Lana - I really don't buy the idea of them as good friends any more, the relationship seems too forced. Reasonable enough that they would get along, but "best buddies" - nah!
2) Timescales and transport - what do Clark and Lois do at the DP in-between Clark telling Lois that he wants to show her the "real Clark Kent" and nightfall, when they go up onto the DP roof? How do they get from the DP to the Luthor mansion in time for dessert? How does Clark get Lana to the barn? Think about what would happen in between the scenes, and the episode falls apart.
3) Why take a fun Clark/Lois storyline, and then dump it in favour of yet more Clark/Lana/Lex? I know the latter is now the major ongoing storyline, but couldn't it have been dropped for a week, rather than being awkwardly shoehorned in?
4) The jump - nice idea, but it wasn't executed well enough for my taste. They didn't get the movement or camera angles quite right, so that it made it too obvious that Tom Welling and Erica Durance were suspended in harnesses in front of a green screen, then superimposed on CGI footage. A pity, because it robbed the scene of some of its magic.
Moaning over, because the rest of the episode was good fun. The Lex/Lana nursery scene was a delight, whilst Jimmy telling Chloe what he thought of her defence of Clark was a useful reminder that, although she may be acting with the best of intentions, simply covering for Clark whatever happens might not always be a good idea. A word of praise for Aaron Ashmore, who I didn't think much of in his first couple of episodes, but now makes Jimmy someone who might be too good for Chloe, rather than the other way around. Oh, and naturally, Clark on Red K letting everyone at the engagement party know what he really thought of them was a highlight.
However, what really made the episode was Clark and Lois. Tom Welling is always good value playing Clark on Red K, but it was great to see Erica Durance more than match him as "loved potion" Lois, both vampier and girlier than Lois' normal self. But they worked equally well together as their normal selves, doing a beautiful job of extracting humour from their characters' awkwardness at being thrown together at the Valentines dance, and then wondering just what did happen the night before!
Overall, my only serious complaint is that this wasn't an out-and-out Clark/Lois romcom episode, so that after a splendid first half, we had to sidestep into more Clexana. But, if I have a general complaint with Smallville, it is that tptb do seem to be afraid of having too much fun with the material at times. I wish that they would take advantage of stories like this to really let their hair down.

Yep, great! Loved it.
Mod Edit
Anyway, the episode was good, but this time....when clark was on red k, he didn't seem as "evil" as he has been. And in fact marther was right....when he is on red k, there is some truth to what he says. I was asking myself...when clark busted in on the party...lana said "he's on something" or summit round those lines....anyway if she believed he was on something, why kiss him knowing it's not the "real" CK? When is lana gonna wake up, why is she forcing herself into this relantionship with lex, you can see that she puts no effort in, and when she saw the baby room, she didn't look like a woman who's gonna "have a baby" and see's the baby room for the first time does she! Normally you'd be happy, but you can see it a mile off that lana isn't at all comfortable having a baby with lex! She can only lie to herself for so long (and if you've seen the rest of the season and s7 like i have, you know how it ends up)
Anyway, jimmy i feel sorry for him. He wants chloe, but you can see that given the chance, she'd defo pick clark and really like lana jimmy is kidding himself too.
Going back to the red k now, when he's on it clark defo shows what he's feeling deep down, but kinda "enlarges" it, if you know what i mean.

Great episode, a real classic. I liked the fact that the episode was played for laughs early on(clark's speeding the hell away from lois was a highlight, along with the tattoo) before taking a big turn at the dinner scene. All the cast did a great job, Tom in particular always good value as red k clark.
And what did the doctor mean about lana's pregnancy? Very interesting.
Much better, but far from perfect or a classic in my view. I guess I'm miserable like newbaggy.
"Lois and Clark Forever" - cringed at that. This show really does only care about the teenage boy demographic sometimes! Unlike the show that the tatoo was an obvious homage to.
I'm watching S7 on posted tape concurrently with E4 S6 thanks to an American cousin, and have to say that's getting my love for Smallville back, quite enjoying it.
Slightly spoilerific:
Biggest problem I have with S6 is that I'm able to watch S7 and I'm not really wondering what happened during S6! Apart from some big tie-ins with the final episode of the season and another point or two, it seems that S6 at the point we're at now is pretty pointless.

Well when you find out, you'll be shocked thats for sure. I can let you know what the doctor meant? Just let me know and i'll pm you.
Woooo!
^ Thats how I felt during the first half of this episode, until clark dumped lois and tried to get back together with lana.
It was a great episode with a lot of great moments - clark speeding away from lusty lois, jimmy investigating, Clark crashing the party, jimmy finally realising how much chloe still loves clark, lana finally getting some kind of clue as to how clark is 'not normal'.
But there were also a few moments that didn't work for me. The lexana was a drag as usual. Lois getting affected by kryptonite, and then losing her memory with no explanation? (Unless that really was a *magical* lipstick.) I really wish she would have retained her memory of what happened.
And call me crazy, but the clois interaction wasn't as good as usual. Clark and lois not being themselves meant we were watching 2 totally different people, lois in particular wasn't as interesting to watch. The whole fun of these two is how they bicker (on L n C they would bicker even when they were in love) but we only got to see that at the start and end. And just what was the point of going to oliver's place anyway?
But hey its still a lot better than a lois-free episode. And like I said jimmy was great, so far in s6 he has never disappointed.

TMLS in "actually quite liked it" shocker! :D
Great episode!!! I love Red K Clark! So many excellent things about this episode - most of which has been mentioned above. As I've said on my other "catch-up" posts, one day I'll get round to writing a little more. But for now, I'll just say how much I loved the way the tone of the episode changed during the engagement dinner scene. MR, TW, KK, AM, AO'T and ED were all fantastic. And that scene in the barn was so full of tension - just wow!
