Is it just me or are they forcing Kara character on us because the show has become very slow? With very little excitement.

I hope that Kara stays for all season. Right now, she is the only one holding the soap opera crap back.

Right now, Kara is the only interesting character on the show (Although Chloe seems to be making a comeback). I care more about Chloe/Kara/Jimmy right now than played out Clark/Lana/Lex nonsense that we've been watching for 6 years.
IMO, she should get to spin off into her own show with Chloe.

That's true, but that's only because they wrote it as a very Kara-centric episode.
I actually really like Kara. I hope she does get a spin-off, I think that would be great. They could go in some new directions and take many more liberties since the Supergirl continuity is basically jell-o compared to Superman's.
I like the actress playing Kara, I like the dynamic between her and Clark, I love that Clark is finally being a leader rather than a follower. The Green Arrow and Justice League stuff was great, but Supes is supposed to be the big guy! Maybe some leadership experience with Kara will help him to become that leader.
Anyway, I've got some issues with how they're introducing her. A little infusion into the show of fresh blood is almost always a good thing though.

That's true. LV seemed to be the best actress on the show in this one. I liked her vulneerability and everything but everyone else around her seemed blande and mundane.

What they need to do is create a special 2 minute segment of the show specifically for Kara and her male followers.
She won't feature in the rest of the episode, it will all be about Clark and the main characters then a character will say to Clark 'where's Kara these days?' and Clark will say 'oh she's in the barn doing her exercises, she's always exercising'.
Cut to Kara in short shorts and bikini top bending over with her ass in the camera, doing stretches & lunges for 2 mins. Then pouring cold water over herself to cool off.
Then cut back to the rest of the episode, I think that would please the male Kara fans and keep her screen time limited.

No way! I'm a girl and I thought Kara, with the help of my hero Les, saved that episode.
God, I loved Lex in the Kent kitchen scene when he put his hands in his front pockets showing his pants and shirt...but I digress...
Lex is da Sex!

I don't think Kara is being "forced" on the viewers, and the Kara/Supergirl charcter when first introduced in the comics gave Clark/Superman , a family-style relationship. she IS needed to help Clark into more of an authoritive figure. LV is doing an excellent job so far in portraying both Kara's strengths and vulnerabilities, and who knows maybe Lex's threat to Kara will finally push Clark into an all-out confrontation with Lex in a way that Lex's mistreatment of Lana has NOT produced.

How will she do that with her interest of Jimmy? She'll become part of the soap opera.
I have so, so feeling about the character. I just don't want it to be all about her and not Clark. I like how LV is protraying her but I'm having problems with LV's barbie doll looks. It just freaks me out how much they look like Ken and Barbie.

Personally I love Kara. I think she's doing a good job. It's nice to see a new face on Smallville.

they brought her on, to "appease" some comic fans. while continuing to rehash Clana, and more Clana/Lexana. Couldn't have SOMEBODY atleast slipped them ONE Supes Comic, so they had atleast a slim chance at figuring out what they were doing ?LOL
They need to bring back Green Arrow , But I like the additon of Kara also..

i liked you jazel;)
i cant lie i actually thought at one time that the way the show was going to end with ashton coming onto the camera and saying he punk'd us.
they did a good job with GA last year but they reduce us to more Clana and forcing kara on to us on the show and thats not fair in my opinion. they should force themselves to have new ideas every season instead of rehashing things from earlier seasons . i mean they brought someone onto the show that can freeze people. thats cool and everythnig but i saw that in season one. and the kara thing doesnt make sense as to how jor-el can know whats happening on the planet but doesnt know his niece is there.

i agree, sooo much kara. I guess the writers just forgot about their old cast members with a shiny new one in front of them. Like little kids with toys, tbh.

Bringing a new character to the show brings a new storyline. Well you do have to know that Smallville isn't going anywhere without a new plot. Can u tell me wut else they could talk about if there was no Kara? Lex vs. Clark? That theme is already shown in season 5-6, season 1-2 was about how Clark adjusts his life knowing about his new powers and alien identity.
I thought bringing Kara to the show is a great idea, coz she's reminded us of the Clark we saw in season 1-3. She needs to adjust her lifestyle change on earth and she needs Clark as the guidence to help her out. Clark told her that earth is his home, that's a great quote that Kara should learn coz she'll be living on earth for quite sometimes. And Clark/Kara scenes also let us viewers seeing how much Clark has grown in the past years and how much he has matured.

I agree that Kara is too much at this point. They can pull off a much more interesting show with the core cast members.
One scene in Fierce sums up season seven so far: Clark just found out the love of his life is still alive. They should have had so much to talk about like their future together, a full explanation of Clark's secret, and you'd think she'd want to know his weakness that everybody keeps talking about. Then Kara comes out in her underwear, with a book on her head, and steals the scene.

Well, if the Clana stuff was actually still compelling, it wouldn't be so easy to steal the scene.
The simple fact that something built up for the past Six years can get derailed by a half naked girl pretty much tells me that the thing isn't all that it's cracked up to be in the first place.
My point here isn't that Kara is so great, even though I like her, it's that the Clana stuff is so played out that the scene could have been stolen by Shelby farting, as far as I'm concerned.

LOL! Well, that's all certainly one way of putting it.
I just have to write that whole scene off to bad writing. My jaw actually dropped when Lana said, "Why don't I leave you two alone, you must have a lot to talk about."
HELLO????
What ranks higher on the list of things to talk about than:
I'm an alien.
I faked my death.
Lex cloned me.
Radioactive shards of my homeworld can kill me.
I have strength, speed, heat vision, x-ray vision, super-breath, I'm almost completely invulnerable, and I can probably fly if I give it some practice.
Remember all those times that I acted really strangely out of character? Red kryptonite.
That time I went psycho and almost killed you and Lex? Silver kryptonite.
That whole witch thing? Kryptonian artifacts.
Those two bad guys you saw come out of the spaceship? Kryptonian criminals.
That time Lex was possessed by an alien spirit? Kryptonian insurrectionist.
Oh, of course: I'm entering the Ms. Sweet Corn pageant.
I'm sorry Al and Miles, but for once, the Clana scene really SHOULD have been given more screen time!!!

But won't it be interesting when Lionel comes back and finds out about Kara? Will he be acting fatherly toward her? Or uncle-y, since Jor El is Kara's uncle. Can't you just see Lionel patting her on the shoulder and calling her his "little girl?" Or whatever the equivalent of "son" would be.

The show has definitely become slower, but I think adding Kara was a smart move. At least, she's there to open Clark's eyes to his reality sometimes.

Supergirl has always had a big role in the comics. However, she has taken away the focus from Clark, just like every other person on the show. Clark is just an afterthought on Smallville.
