Poor Kara

I felt so bad for Kara when those girls wre mean to her. She was so cute and voulnerable by asking for their help and they were *****es from hell. Imagine having your entire planet and way of life distroyed and the first attempt at making friends turns out like that.

I hope Kara doesn't like Lana. She should be the sounding board for all us fans who hate her with the fire of a thousand suns. It seems she is most like Lois, so the two could be okay. Although I have a hard time picturing Lois giving Kara attantion. It is usually Lois' sister Lucy who is Kara's friend.

Cute and vulnerable is a great description of Kara for much of this episode. Except when she's with Clark, then she's a bit bratty. In a refreshing way. Clark needs a good kick in the pants sometimes. LOL!

But still that was an first impression some executive producers (the same producers that said Clana is coming back, mind you) have already said Kara is not going to make it easy on Clark and Lana. Unlike Clark, Kara can open her eyes and see the true Lana Lan for who she really is

She did called him out later on the fact that he can't just simply grow old with Lana on the farm, and do nothing, so the shows the potential for friction between her and Lana down the road.

surely entering a beauty pageant is normal behaviour and goes a way to fitting in. Its the fact its so 'showy' that's the problem like clark being the quarterback.

How can you say that? This is not the Miss America pagent. They don't winn a lot of money or a great title. The whole pagent thing was for fun, she wanted to make friends. She is lonely. Her entire planet, her way of life, her friends and family exploded. She just found out that she was the only girl of her race that survived. The only person she has that she can talk to is a guy who has no clue about girls and is constantly telling her how she should get over Krypton, and how great Earth is. She wanted to make friends and she was very nice and voulnerable and those girls were horrible. Don't forget, it was Kara's first attempt to make friends, and she was not only shot down, but insulted. That is horrible. She is a teenage girl after all, and those things are harsh.

Entering the beauty pagent was a "normal" thing to do.. but like you said, it's the showy part. Especially since Kara can't control her powers. For all we know, she could have got excited and started jumping up and down and went through the roof.

At least when Clark was the quarterback, he knew how to control his powers.

I just think it was sad because Kara is so strong physically but very weak emotionally (at this point), and having been treated so badly by the first earth girls she tries to make friends with, was just sad. I felt more bad for Kara, than for Clark "loosing" Lana. :rolleyes:

Kara is nothing like EDLois; they have nothing in common and since Kara KO'd EDLois for touching her ship...well, that made me warm up to Kara right away. EDLois has no idea about the ship or aliens and is scatterbrained and generally clueless; it would make no sense for her to be Kara's close friend at all.

It's the height of stupidity to have Lana at the farm to begin with, the story that she's hiding in order to avoid being punished for her many crimes is a joke and that she embezzelled money when her family(Nell) is also rich and would take care of her, is pretty stupid. Making Lana her friend and confidante is just as lame as making Lana Clark's confidante.

It is Chloe who knows the secret and first met Kara and it is Chloe whom Clark made clear is smarter than the two Kryptonians put together. It's Chloe who fits best as friend and confidant for both Clark and Kara, as established in last week's ep.

I felt soo bad for her at that part, i was like LANA will help you, i hope she makes friends with one of the other main girls on the show! at least she got to kick their asses later on :)
