As usual the damn Trailer was misleading!

Trailer Criticisms:
1. They said that Lana wasn't the same. However nothing was shown to make it seem like Lana was any different. So she stole money from Lex. Good for her, the bastard faked a pregnancy with her and has lied more then the President (Just proves he's got all the talent for that job).

To tell you the truth I thought they'd reveal the following, confirming my hypothesis:
- Lana was going to be the clone and she killed the original (fun no?)
- Lana's clone does not remember anything from after her pregnancy. You know just another way of making Lana forget about Super Clark

Sadly they did not.

2. Clark never questioned her for coming back from the dead (wtf?), even though they showed this in the trailer. As usual naive Clark accepts things at face value.

Season Criticisms:
1. Episode 3 already and we still don’t know jack about Lionel. This is really pissing me off. What happened to him and if someone has him you’d figure they would have done something by now.
2. Why doesn’t Clark know Chloe’s secret? And what exactly is her super power? Crying people back to life? I guess she really hates Lana then cause there were no tears for her.

Series Criticisms:
1. I’m tired of everyone working at the talon. Lana, Lois, Martha, and now Kara??? Why doesn’t someone help Clark out on the damn farm? Martha used to grow flowers, bake and TPTB know what else. At least Chloe has been consistent.
2. BTW why hasn’t anyone done back to university? No that I cared for those story lines but seriously I thought the full time work thing was temporarily till school resumed. Hello????
3. I’m still fuming that Clark’s dad, Jonathan, was killed off for no good reason. Lana now knows and guess what? NO ONE DIED. Seems pretty lame, mind you EP 100 was still pretty awesome.

Episode Review:
In general I thought this was a nice through back to a typical season 2 or 3 style episode (Controlling Super Powers, Story revolving around small town event). However they divided Clark & Lana’s conversation way too much. Come on they traded something like 10 sentences. That’s pretty minor considering Lana’s alive and Clark should be celebrating this. I expected his reaction to be crazy happy, you know picking her up and super jumping through a cloud or something.

It really pissed me off that they pretended that there was going to be this great Lana reveal and in the end nothing! However I think they did a great job by adding the new Kryptonian relic. This might make for a really good story line if executed properly.
I thought it was interesting that Lex confronted Kara so directly. However it seems pretty obvious that he’s found a new girl to obsess about.

They essentially did nothing to answer any hanging questions. However I’m a big fan of the new story line they’ve created with the Kryptonian relic. Let’s see where they take it.

Comments anyone?

yea trailers are always missleading. Only thing we learned was about this mysterious kryptonian cold be hidden on earth for the past 100 yrs or so and a little on the lana plot. We will probably know more about lana in a few episode. I also agree with u there i was thinking it was going to be the clone took out the original and original is dead or something.

Good points.
1. I definitely was under the impression that the main storyline of this ep. was gonna be the mystery of which Lana returned..and nada, nothing. Did someone get confused on which ep. to do a trailer for???
2. The Clark-Lana reunion? eh..well, kinda anti-climatic. Im not sure how that was s'pose to come across but just didn't have any life to it.
3. The Lionel thing. wow, i mean eventually u gotta tie up some loose ends from ep. 1. it does seem to be draggin.....and how 'bout the whole 33.1 thing, and the legion of super-soldiers Lex spent THREE years working on! is that just all gone?

but i do agree, it's kinda nostalgic having a Smallville (town) centered episode. reminded of the glory days of S 1-3. Throw in a little Corn Festival, and the obligatory FOTW, and all you need is some Pete Ross and it be like old times!

The same thing happened for episode, Wither. The trailer wasn't anything about the zoner Gloria. They just showed Oliver Queen in the trailer and the episode wasn't really about him that much.

I agree there the trailer was incredibly misleading (but since Lana is a un-needed character I didn't mind it)

But I do think for a filler episode there was one BIG food for thought presented to Clark,

Kara basically called Clark out on how he won't be able to stay in Smallville forever....and impractical he's being in thinking he will stay with Lana on the farm forever...

Well, I know that Oliver said how impractical Clark staying put is...but that was because the world at large needed him

But this was kinda like this except it had a more Kryptonian edge...it almost sounded like a more balanced Jorel viewpoint...

And yes I know Jorel (I agree the will of Jorel has done some very questionable things - But, I think after 7 seasons they can't just reverse everything he's said and say its not him) or Jorel's will has decreed Kara poses a threat to Clark/Kal-el, I just think Kara's threat isn't intentional on Kara's part,

I do agree with most of what you said. The trailer was terribly misleading and made it so much about Lana, when the main focus, for me, was Kara and the Miss Sweet Corn competition with the whole discovery of the relic.

But I do disagree with you on this:

Chloe did cry over Lana in that one scene at her apartment in the first or second episode, and ends up hugging Clark. It seems to me, that her superpower tears only affect the person if it's direct contact, like her tear falling on Lois.

Yea, that misleading trailer was a bunch of crap if you ask me. Who the heck does that anyway? Show you something, then not show anything related in the episode. That's total crap.Who the heck does that! NOBODY! What crap. I hope the producers are reading this. CRAP, CRAP, CRAP.

Great review. Thanks for the image of Clark joyfully jumping with Lana through a cloud. LOL!
