Duplicate abilities were bound to happen and likely they gave it to him so that she would have more a 'comfortable' feel with him...which, considering hes a freaky stalker that needs a severe beating at the hand of HRG he needs all the help on the comfortable front he can get. ANd he better not be related in any way, shape, or form to Claire or Ill be revolted and pissed.

Having him be Claire's brother would be damning Heroes to be a soap opera. LoL

I simply think it's to show that not everyone has a different ability, that some do indeed have the same abilites. Thats what I'm figuring at this point in the show..anyway.

Honestly i'd like for them to not try and dup any body's powers but like in the comics there's hardly no body who has a unique ability.

Course there are also the top five common powers (at least for the Marvel universe):
1. Flight
2. Super-strength
3. Psychic abilities
4. Kinetic energy related power
5. ...

The fifth one alludes me but it's probably something stupid.

It doesn't have to be related to Marvel at all. LoL. X-men, the 4400...all these shows where people have abilities all have the same types of power in each.

Telekenesis,Clairvoyant,Healing..Flying..etc. Same old story each time. Don't forget Kensei, who has healing abilities same as Claire..just in a different era. The writers are doing it on purpose.

Or maybe I'm just grasping at straws hoping that they Claire and West are not related in any way shape or form. ;) LoL.

you know, i am actually hoping Sylar does in fact kill West. i don't like his character at all, something about him just doesn't seem to fit w/ Claire.
i think he is only on the show to cause tension for HRG & Claire.
but like i said, i think it would be awesome & freakin amazing...if Sylar did in fact kill West, stole his ability, & just had some psycho fun w/ Claire...lol...
i know that sounds weird & creepy, but i think it would be a good story for the show. who knows though. Heroes always has this way of showing the obvious & then twisting it around to shock you...that is why i love it so much.

West is an interesting character. We really don't know him that well because he's been so interested in drawing Claire out and she's been so busy trying to hide the truth that... we haven't had a similar curiosity from Claire about West.

Do his parents have abilities? Is he an orphan? Maybe I should go back and watch their scenes again. But yeah, all we really know is that he can fly, he loves being different, seems like he's been waiting his whole life for a "special" girl to love, and he was abducted by HRG. ???

I like West. First he creeped me out but I hoped he and Claire would be friends b/c he was so off the beaten path and confident and oblivious to what his peers thought of him. BUT I thought there was a possibility that West worked for the company.

Then I could tell that he was into Claire and I didn't know what to think. I liked that he was trying to get Claire to have fun but... yeah, still creepy.

The date on the Hollywood sign clinched it for me. It was so sweet. And their kisses are wonderful to watch. The way he closes his eyes when he kisses her... MMM.

So I'm a mild Claire/West shipper. :)

I don't know how long it could possibly last since West has got to find out who Claire's dad is at some point. Then again, maybe West is talking about that OTHER HRG: Bob. LOL!

Does he wear Horned Rimmed Glasses? I don't know.

i adore west. from the first minute i saw him in that car i was smitten :p

second hottest guy on the show (peter has to come first) and with this really sweet almost naive character. he is the only one who doesnt really know much about what is going on, but he is totally ready to be a hero in order to fight for what he believes is right

i know his character is not totally complex, but i love that simplicity. he is just so damn lovely.

I dont like West AT ALL! I didnt mind him as the friend, but when he bacame serious boyfriend and they got all lovey i was just like... PUHLEASE! As if it would all happen that fast, and I just think that West was annoying. Something aobut him just bothered me. It was too much, way too quick. And to be honest.. i miss Kyle...
