Can west be trusted?

Ok so after watching the show last night I was thinking about the person in the hooded sweatshirt. It made me think for a little while then it came to me. Hiro's dad was killed by someone that took him and they jumped off the building but only the one body was there. Now of course anyone can have any power anyone knows that but West can fly. What if he dropped the body then flew off just enough to get away. Now I know that they havent really talked abouut him but isnt he the one in the painting with Claire? That would make since and who would want to kill HRG? Besides a lot of people West would because of the kidnapping thing. So is west trying to get close to Claire because he knows who she is and who her father is?

I believe hes getting close to Claire because he knows who her father is. I mean the guy was on Claires case the moment he met her. As far as the killer hunting down the remaining 7 original heroes I don't believe its West. This "badguy" whos killing them off is supposed to be badder than Sylar...the Nightmare Man as Molly called him. I don't believe he'll be revealed until later in the season...say around sweeps time LOL.

But what if theres more than one bad guy? What if there is a group like the older heroes and its a battle between generations?

I think West can be trusted, until he figures out who Claire's dad is. Then I'm thinking we might have to worry about both West *and* Claire. Did you see the painting? It looked like Claire and someone (possibly West) were kissing in the background.

Nah, I'm pretty sure flying is it for him. The only ones that have more than one so far have been the empath (Peter) and the guy who knows how things work (Sylar). They both have inherent powers that allow them to absorb or obtain the powers of others, so really they only have one true power that helps them gain more powers. West, on the other hand, only has the one power of flight. Could change, but I doubt it. People already complain enough about Pete and Sylar being too powerful, I doubt they'd give us a third multi-powered character.

I'm pretty sure he's going to be revealed in the next episode. I've read a spoiler as to who it is, but also if you watch the preview at the end of Kindred, Molly says "That's the man from my dreams" (or something like that)

I agree, except about Claire and West kissing over HRG's dead body. LOL! It looked like she was looking at HRG and being hugged and comforted by someone... West perhaps.

Hmm, took another look and it does appear that she's just being held back. On my HD copy I had on my computer I swear it looked like she was kissing someone, but you can clearly see here that the guy would have to have no neck for that to be true:

Something about the painting puts me more in the mind of Sylar or Peter than it does of West, honestly.

I just took another look at that picture, and you could even say that Claire was being dragged away. Maybe the Company is abducting her, and were only able to do it by killing daddy.

On the subject of West, her last boyfriend was a date rapist and murderer, so hopefully he's a step up.

That is truly sad commentary. If it isn't some Sylar trick and West does turn out to be scum, I hope Claire is able to see West in that step up context, or she's going to be dealing with even more psychological baggage than she already has.

its pretty clear that the figures are kissing... claire has her eyes closed, and her face is leaning in towards the darkened figures face...

the question is, who is the dark figure...and what is his connection to Claire/HRG...

also, claire has her arm around the figure like an embrace, it doesnt look like she's fighting whats happening...

I'm thinking it could be West. But only if that chip in his shoulder is more than a tag.

Perhaps some sort of control device.

If the company is as bad as HRG says then I would expect it to mean more.

It kind of makes you think who out of our heroes has the tag. Matt Parker has, Nathan got away before capture, Peter & Claire would both reject the tag as foreign objects, like the bullets being pushed out of Peter's chest. Hiro doesn't. Sylar probably does from when he killed Eden. Don't know about the others.

I can see now why you thought they were kissing. When I watched it at the NBC website, I thought Claire's eyes were open. But you're right unless the guy has no neck... or Claire's really into smooching his shoulder... it's an embrace rather than a kiss...

What a macabre kiss that would be.

ETA: It almost looks like the person is shielding her... which... bullets wouldn't hurt her anyway... hmm...

I'm not totally convinced this is West in the picture. West is tall and skinny and this guy looks short and stocky to me. But it makes the most sense that it would be West and I have to vote that they are in fact kissing. Maybe they are kissing when the killing happens?

Did Claire's new boyfriend actually see her with HRG already? There was that scene when he almost ran her over - she looked at her dad and he just gave her an admonishing look. Wouldn't West have seen her dad there and placed him as the guy who abducted him?

I don't trust West - even more now. I mean, isn't it just a little too convienant that he 'discovers' Claire's powers and attaches himself to her. And is Claire really attracted to him or is it just because he can fly and that's 'cool' lol - but I guess it's high school so it's only 'puppy love' anyway.

And then that painting of HRG - I'm feeling like West is either a plant from the Company to get to HRG and the finally snag Claire or that he's ok now but gonna turn psycho when he sees HRG is Claire's daddy.

Anyway back to Sylar........since he has Candice's shape shifting power, then the future wherein he becomes President of the USA is still a possibility. Could it be that Hiro did not change the future much?

I agree. If you look at the position of their chins you can tell that's definately kissing.

Although we can see that West has the mark from the Company I doubt he'd go as far as to kill H.R.G. He's just a kid in high school who can fly, the most I see happening is some tension between him and Claire if he discovers the truth.
