Ben Hubbard?

They mentioned Ben Hubbard for the 2nd time. Are we going to see him any time soon? Any word on who might play him?

No idea. I find it funny that Ben is being referenced so many times lately, considering he was hyped as being an main character in Superman Returns, yet wasn't referenced or seen there; just had a vocal cameo. Maybe he'll appear in the episode with the corn festival, keep an eye, no clue who would play him.

He'll probably be like Tim Allen's neighbor in "Home Improvement." They'll show him peeking over a cow, or behind a horse, or around a corner of the barn... :D

ha, i just like any time a character from the mythos is mentioned. you don't have to show him, but he's supposed to take over the farm once jonathon and clark are gone. i loved the simple mention.

I went to school with a kid names Ben Hubbard, always cracked me up. In fact, I think I'll text him and let him know he has to take care of Clark's farm, lol

This is probably not likely, but I can't think of who else the guy in chaps was who pulled Lionel off the river bed. Is it possible that was Ben Hubbard?

Ben Hubbard is a neighbor who looks after Martha Kent in Smallville while Clark is in Metropolis. The character was mentioned in Superman: The Movie, and was to appear in the movie Superman Returns, played by James Karen, but his scene was cut from the theatrical release.

I don't remember the name of the episode, but in the 5th season Jonathan said he sold the back 40 to Ben Hubbard. However, Clark says in the next to last episode of the 6th season that Ben Hubbard has wanted to work the back 40 for a long time. Did Ben Hubbard give back the land to the Kents? Or is it an inconsistency on the part of the writers?

Ben Hubberd has never been seen onscreen or in the comics, his name has been mentioned in the Superman movies and on Smallville as a neibouring farmer who either wants to buy some Kent land or will be a hired hand/manager to help run the farm.

I believe that Jonathan never officially sold it. I think he mentioned selling, but never went through with it.

Isn't Ben Hubbard also Martha's boyfriend after Jonathan has died and Clark's moved to Metropolis? I don't know anything about the comics canon, but that's what I've gathered from the movies.
