View Full Version : Did the government guy remind anyone of Brainiac at all?

Ok so was it just me... or does anyone else think that that guy acted way too much like Brainiac?
Possibly to hide who he is because so many people know what his other form looks like, I'm sure Lex has people on the lookout for him.

I did get a feeling that the man with Kara's crystal might be Brainiac. The only thing I was wondering was, why would he be working with the government? Is it possible that in the season 6 opener *Zod* when Lez/zod went to washington somehow he brought brainiac with him(or met him there). Seeing how they did not show what lex did while he was there, we only know that Lex visited the pentagon. Brainiac might have taken the form of an agent to have an in with the government and a new identity that comes with benefits.
Just a thought though

Yeah that's something on the lines that I was thinking too. (Spoiler) We do know he's going to be back this season, and it makes sense that the best place for him would be is within the government. It would also explain how he was able to get into Kara's ship so easy, when every other ship in the series has been imposable to open, that is without a "key". The crystal inside a container is another good clue too since the crystals can kill Brainiac's forms.

Also Kara thinks that her ship self-destructed ,but to me it looked like it disappeared, just like Brainiacs ship in season 5

Yeah another good point, I didn't pick up on that one.

A little.
I was disappointed in that guy. They didn't say who he was at first (if they did, I didn't catch it). So the whole time I was like "He's working for Lex. No! For Lionel. Wait! Maybe for Lana?" and then it's like "Department for boring boring boring..."
I was hoping it'd be something more exciting. I'm sure them having the crystal will play a big part later on, but last night was just ehh.

How can you say "ehh"? What didn't this episode have that you would have needed to see?

I got the idea that he was just a human brainiac was using to get ahold of the krystal in the guise of trying to use it to protect america from more aliens in reality he will use it to become more powerful and fight the el family earths only hope.
then when clark defeats brainiac again mm takes over as head of alien affairs or whatever brainiac was hiding as after brainiac killed the real human. So we get mm pretending to be the same guy evil brainiac was pretending to be both brainiac and mm can take the form of other "people"

he could be brainiac in another form, would be a cool way to have brainiac around untill they get james masters to return later in the season.

I caught that also, but dissmissed it. You do have a point. He also knew that the ship would explode. However, why would Brainiac care if people were able to escape.

If the guy was brainiac himself then who was he talking to on the phone. As a stated if this has any connection to brainiac then it is probablly just some guy working for him who thinks he will save america and the rest of earth from evil alien invaders.

Damn, that's a good idea! Perhaps while going to the Pentgon, Zod uploaded a copy of him somewhere. I think he had his Brainiac power source with him in his pocket before he left for Washington DC.

i'm going with brainiac since there are only a few that know about crystal technology.

The one thing that is making me think it's not Brainiac is that when he touched the FOS crystals, it destroyed him. I'm guessing Kara's crystal is just like the FOS crystal, but contains the will of Zor-El, which she probably wants to install at the FOS & replace Jor-El with.
So unless there's a plothole where Brainiac can touch Kara's crystal (she is also a member of the House of El), I don't think it was Brainiac. Maybe he's a guy reporting to Brainiac and being fooled by him.

I think he's Jason Trask with Bureau 39. From Lois & Clark. Works for a black ops group of the government specializing in extraterrestrial life. He thought Clark was the first in line of a massive alien invasion force.

i dont know when old brainiac is coming back but this is very weird who is this guy? i guess he acted brainiacish but lets not jump the gun here this might merly be a new bad guy they made up to make up for the lack of lexness were getting this season lol but ya never know this just could all be a devious plan by brainiac ....lets hope so :)

Yep. I thought this too. Totally Brainiac-ish. How else could he have known so much about the ship? It would be cool wouldn't it?

Yes! He was a lot like Brainiac. He looks kind of like him and his cool manner. Yikes! And now he's got that crystal!

I'm positive it's him. They said only a Kryptonian can open the ship. And after Nam-Ek, Aether, Raya, Zod, and Kara, if they introduce ANOTHER Kryptonian who survived the destruction of Krypton, well... it was worn out awhile ago, so I can't say I'd be surprised or any more frustrated. But I think it's a safe bet to say it's Brainiac. Another Krypton survivor at this point would be just random.

Yeah, I'm thinking that government guy is Brainiac as well simply because he know way too much about the ship, i.e. how to open the ship and that opening it would trigger a self destruct mechanism...

But don't you think Brainiac would be destroyed by touching that crystal like he was when touching the FOS crystals? I think that guy could be working for Brainiac.

Yea, how did that resemble a "nuclear explosion" in any way? And what did she do by flying on top of it for a bit? "Ooooh pretty light. Crap there goes my ship!"

The first thing that sprang to mind when he was examining the crystal walking down the hall at the end was, "that's Braniac". It also fits since Braniac could be technically called Kryptonian and that's the only way he should've been able to get in the ship.

^^This supports one of my theories that Brainiac, Zod, and Zor-El were allies in destroying Krypton. If that crystal were like the FOS ones, it would destroy him. It seems like Zor-El built it NOT to destroy Brainiac.
You can see my theories here:
http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=79398
And with every piece of evidence, I'm getting more convinced that theory #1 will be proven true.

I am so happy the Federal Government is finally involved as a character now.
You would think FBI,CIA,NSA would have some knowledge about all the UFO activity and strange stuff in kansas and metropolis. Especially that briefcase Lexzod stole. I wanted to see some kind of government spy type show up and start investigating. I have always wanted an episode where the government comes to clark, and ASKS clark for help.
I wish clark would do one black ops hostage rescue mission.
Clark we know who you are , and we know your powers , and here is what we need, we support you and only you can save the world type of problem.

That's why I hope he's part of Bureau 39! They're exposed to UFOs all the time. He knew how to get in the ship because it isn't the first time he's been opened an alien ship.

I do wonder if that's an new form of Brainiac, and then whenever Clark runs into him, that's when James Marsters will appear and reveal himself.
Y'know, I was just thinking, what if he gave the order to open it up just to set off the alarm and lure Kara and Clark there so that he could get the crystal? We know Brainiac can move at superspeed, so maybe he did something with the ship, and that's how he got the crystal. It was all a trap just to get the crystal.

It's possible the goverment guy is Brianiac. He does kidnap Kara later in the season. If he is not Brianac then I think he is working for him. It is possible that Brianiac could have survived by planting a copy of himself into the internet when he release the virus during the season 5 finale. This might have kept this copy from being destoryed.

Yeah but he didn't touch it, it was in a container.

Either he's a bonafide government agent who's involved with all those UFO stuff or he's simply another one of Brainiac's minions posing as an agent.

All we do know, for fact, of Brainiac is the following. His original huamnoid copy was killed when he was impaled atop the crystals, not just from touching them; so I'm not sure where many of you get the theory that he can be killed just by touching them. When Clark stabbed him with the Talisman Mark II Knife, he killed all other copies (in Honduras, in the plane taking Martha and Lois north, etc., etc.) and Zod's transference to Lex apparently left Brainiac to remain silent in the ship. Zod then basically vaporized the ship by converting all its energy to Brainiac's main hard-drive, which was of course partially damaged by Clark upon his return from the Phantom Zone. Later on, Baern evaporated the hard-drive into nothingness in order to absorb its power, therefore completely destroying that source of Brainiac, which Clark of course later used to restore power to the Fortress.
Now, the only way I can see Brainiac returning would be that he either 1) Copied himself into the Internet when spreading the computer virus or some point prior (as some of you have speculated), 2) imbedded a subconscious copy of his programming into Lex when he injected him with the antivirus or while preparing his body for Zod, or 3) is actually dormant inside the Fortress (as it was, afterall, his energy that restored it). I do know that since James Marsters is returning for 4 eps, I'm dying for a scene of Brainiac in England searching for something using the Spike voice undercover. That would friggin own!:D

That's the first thing I said. Everybody knows he can change into other people. How did he know about the cystal in ship? Maybe we will find out that is MF. Why would he be in the US Capital? Things are going to get interesting in later ep.
