The beginning of the episode when Kara hit Clark sending him pummeling through the forest looked fantastic, also Kara flying in space looked very very cool!!!

I thought the part where Kara was learning to use her superhearing was pretty cool.. i like how instead of using the same stupid little picture of clark's eardrum they're doing something cool.

I thought the special effects for the first two episodes have been fantastic. The opening scene between Clark and Kara was so cool and when Kara shot up into space and looked over the earth and flew back down was so cool.

i saw a lot of new shots, points of views, scenery. very nice. that last shot of the loft scene with kara and clark in the sunset was an awesome shot.

i thought the episode was great, except for the special effects...the part where kara comes out of her ship and knocks out Lois was really fake, and the whole flying thing needs to be improved.

but other than that, everything else was good for me. :)

I loved the scene where Kara takes off flying in space and she was hovering while staring at the crystal in the shape of Superman's emblem with the hologram of Kal-El as a baby.

All the flying scenes were amazing for a TV show... Especially the one where she flies outside of earth.

I THOUGHT ALL THE EFFECTS WERE GOOD EXCEPT FOR WHEN SHE WENT INTO SPACE. HER HAIR WAS JUST SITTING THERE LIKE SHE WAS STILL ON GROUND. WELL SORRY HUN YOUR AT ZERO GRAVITY AND YOUR HAIR WOULD BE FLYING ALL OVER THE PLACE. FOR SOME REASON THAT IS SOMETHING I PICKED UP ON. BUT HEY IT WAS STILL GOOD.

Number 1: Please turn off your caps. Using all caps on the internet is the equivalent of screaming.

Number 2: This is a TV show, just as we can hear stuff when we shots of outer-space even though we shouldn't, there will always be little visual things that aren't exactly the same.

Number 3: The flight when she went into outer space was the best effect in the episode. I wasn't as impressed with the streak-flying.

The purple flash when kara destroyed Lois' phone was completely unnecessary.

The flying sequences looked like film effects from about 2002, which is as good as i was hoping for, just aslong as your not too critical, you can let them go. But i can tell less effort was put into the effects of this episode than bizzaro. Or maybe they just had a smaller animation team.

Trust me, animating a human realisticly is a nightmare, you need seriously experienced people to make it look just right.

When Clark went flying through the forest, that was unexpected to see. Also when Kara was in space, good lighting and everything. I think those were the most special-effect filled two minutes of Smallville ever!

I thought FIREDOG007AF's point was a good one; they showed Kara's hair flowing in zero g in the far (probably CG) shot, but it settles into place and sits there unrealistically for the near shot.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the space scene and consider the part where Clark is flung through the forest to be the best special effect yet in the series. I've never seen anything in a live-action fight with that much kick to it (which is only appropriate since this is a super-powered fight). I'm actually surprised more members here aren't raving about it.

So.... were you not able to catch the opening where Clark is sent flying through a forest? That was damn impressive.

Also, comparing Supergirl to Barbie is rather silly.

ok so i started watching smallville when it first came on the WB several years back, stopped bout the 3rd or fourth season, and im still catching up, am finally close to being right where i need to be. i am on the 6th season on the second disc, where arrow is almost over and about to start reunion. heres aquestion if someone can answer it for me:

is kara like what shes supposed to be from what i read on the internet in smallville or is it different?

The special effects involving Kara (aka Supergirl) were outstanding. I especially enjoyed when she flew off in space and looked at a baby picture of Clark. All of her flying scenes were done to perfection.
