I was just wondering if anyone knows the significance of the bracelets in the last scene with Kara??

Probably the only reference we'll get to Wonder Woman. I also got the feeling it was a reference to the soulmate bracelet of Naman's.

Well, the bracelet she had on her let arm was clearly just jewelry that she picked up and liked. The other bracelet someone said was a bracelet that she was wearing with her Kryptonian garb, so it's part of her heritage, thus the signififcance of her putting it on.

The way Kara was holding the bracelet looked very similar to when Supergirl (Helen Slater) first picked up a rock in the '84 movie. The extended version of course.

I thought of Wonder Woman too. Do you think she'll have a little gold rope too?

Seriously, it reminded me of the silver bracelet in "skinwalker"

my theory:

bracelet is a communication device for kara to summon lara's spirit. we see a teaser in laura vandervoort's interview with cw.com, which shows kara and lara talking in the barn. lara is also wearing the same kind of bracelet. i think what we might find out in future eps is that both kara and clark's mother lara might have had a secret bond, and lara might have known or been "in" on kara also being sent to earth before krypton's destruction. a secret kept from jor-el himself. my guess is that lara asked for kara to look after her son kal-el, and if kara ever needed her guidance, all she would need to do is summon her presence. hence the bracelet.
other spoilers on kryptonsite say jor-el and brother zor-el had tension between the two of them (a non-brotherly love). perhaps auntie lara took a liking to her niece, and this might inevitably be the way for the family to achieve forgiveness and redeem the brothers...

I like your first theory. Hope it's true. Would make sense to me.

We're talking about a completely different planet. As far as jewelry that might be the height of fashion there.

Besides being some kind of communication device, if it was just sentimental jewelry, people are known to care more about their jewelry than their clothes. Running out of a burning house, some people would grab their jewelry before their clothes.

Until we see more, I can accept that keeping this jewelry is like that. It may have some sentimental value to her.

Clothes are flammable is why!

Is it the bracelet that makes her fly? She put it on just before she took off.

As long as she ain't using that bracelet to track down a rotating ball of light.

As I said in some other thread about her, I saw her wearing that bracelet with her Kryptonian garb (I only notice these things because I like to make costumes and wahtnaught). But anyway, that scene was showing us how alone and possibly confsed she is. She's on a strange new world and doesn't no anyone, she even had to wear new clothes that are foriegn to her. HOwever, instead of giving up her kryptonian heritage completely, she saved that bracelet. It's all that she has left of her life and of anything that's familiar to her. She was proabably looking at it in remorse for the life she lost (her family and friends and home).

No she can fly because she's Kryptonian. She can fly just like Clark can, and he knows it. Clark just WON'T fly. He needs 30 minutes with a good shrink to "develop" that power.

Most likely. My mother hates the leather band I wear around my wrist, but I think it's awesome.

I thoguht it was a nod to the comics. In the recent comics Supergirl is less impressed by her cousin than she is by Wonder Woman and so wants to train in the Amazon way. She, in fact, goes to Paradise Island and trains in the way of the Amazons, becoming good friends with them and with Wonder Girl.

I figured that scene was an homage to Kara's Amazon training.

i noticed that she was already wearing it also, with her kryptonian clothes.

you're right about the sadness she feels though. as everyone keeps saying, she is already a teenager, so she is aware of why she was leaving krypton. even if it never exploded, she is now far away from all the friends and family she knew.

but chances are, as she was flying away from K, she did see it explode, or felt the aftershocks.

Perhaps the bracelets are Kara's version of
Clark's blanket; however, being older, she
has memories of home, unlike Clark, to
whom the blankets have significance but
not as much sentimentality. We'll see
what( if anything) they mean in the future
hopefully.
Obviously, the rest of her clothing meant
nothing, as she left them on top of the
Smallville water tower to blow where
ever the wind takes them. Now that
would be fun, what became of Kara's
Kryptonian garb?...

I was also thinking about Naman's bracelet when I saw it, though they seemed to have completely pushed aside that plotline. I wish they hadn't, I kind of miss the Kawache (did I spell that right?...)
Anyway, I'm pretty sure Kara wore that bracelet when we first saw her in the water, and decided to keep it when she changed into err... earth clothing

I just checked and it looks like she had two bracelets while she was in the water. So I guess she decided to keep one of the bracelets, but if she decided to save one then it must mean that it's important to her.

I'm thinking it's the bracelets that all women from the house of El wear. It probally identical to the bracelet that Khyla had in Skinwalkers for Namans true one. Their ancestor who fell in love with a human and created their race most have given it to his love calling her his true one and making her part of the house of El.

It's kind of off-topic, but... does that mean that (in Smallvile, at least) Kryptonians and humans can have children together? I never read the comics, but in Lois and Clark they couldn't...

Yeah the Bracelet may have been a gift from her parents. Keep in mind Jor-El and Zor-El hated each other so it is not probably that Jor-el had anything to do with the bracelet

Some comic versions say that Clark is Impotent while on earth other say he can have a child with an earth woman but it would be a hybrid and have reduced powers.

In SV they seem to follow this plot line as the Kwatchi are decendants of an Kryptonian/Human Hybrid

It represents her kryptonian heritage, and could be a nod to her future training by wonder woman.

I just saw of screencap of Lara where Kara and Lara were talking to each other and Lara had that similar bracelet on so I'm guessing that the bracelet has something to do with Kara being able to talk to Lara...
