I know we've not really seen anything of her but a couple of scenes, but those scenes spoke volumes. For one, her first use of her powers was saving human life. Guess it runs in the family. Second, that shot near the end, with her putting on the bracelets, spoke volumes. She's just a teenage girl on a planet far far away from home. She likes jewelry and nice clothes, like many many teenage girls do. Very sweet and a very nice touch to quickly bring her down to our level and tell us no matter what happens that she is still just a teenage girl at heart.
Reminds me of a quote from Dr. Elliot Reed on Scrubs: "...every woman, wether she's 16 or 60, still has the insecure awkward teenage girl inside of her."

I couldn't agree with you more. they did such a wonderful job showing how scary it owuld be in a new world all by yourself there. Although I think the reason that she was looking at the bracelet so lovingly was because that was part of her Kryptonian garb, meaning that it's the last part of her heritage that she has.

I liked that scene too. Especially with music behind it.

Might be, good catch if it's true. The other bracelets were most definitely earthbound, though. :P And even if it is Kryptonian, well, hey, she still liked the bling. ;)

I had no problem with Kara in this episode. They teased her a bit but didn't overpower the episode with her and set up next week perfectly by ending the premier on her.

I agree. I loved her portrayal, too. She was so voulnerable, yet strong. Can't wait for next Thurstay. This was not enough.

Nicely put. Seeing her look over her surroundings, her new home. Like you said did speak volumes. It's going to be interesting to see her "grow" as a character. I hope she just wasn't brought on as a ploy to gain ratings. I understand that reasoning, but there has to be more than that. If they are truly using her character to futher push Clark towards his destiny, then great just don't make a mockery of it.

The fact that he's being put into a big brother/father role by her coming in, is definitely a true push towards his destiny. It will give him another view of family life, as well as making him have to be responsible for something rather than just running around willy-nilly saving people.

Laura did a great job. Her part was written well, and acted out perfectly. Everything was perfect, right down to the camera angle, and lighting. Well done GM! Well done Laura!
