View Full Version : Why did Lex turn himself in?

While he was in the jail cell with his lawyer, he said he wanted to turn himself in and "face his demons".

He didn't kill Lana though. Why did he turn himself in - for slapping her and all the other stuff he's done?

There was too much evidence against him.
There was no way that he wouldn't of gotten off the hook.

Even so, he wanted to go to jail.
Why?

He took him being saved as meaning he shouldn't run from his demons , but face them. He said as much himself during his little chat with his lawyer.

He turned himself in because he knew he didn't do it, but instead of running away, he wanted to face his demons. This way they can search for the evidence, build a case against him, and he can fight back knowing he honestly did nothing wrong.

Normally he would run away because there's so much other stuff that they could uncover about him if he went to trial. This time he thought he saw an angel and is trying to redeem himself by not running.

Here's my take on it.... It's Kara!!! Lex's new obsession! You know Lex can't simply walk away until he knows what's going on! It's just like Clark and the caves, and the stones ect. He has to know! If O.J. can get off..... Then Lexy can get off!!! :rotfl:

I believe it's due to the whole religious experience stuff with Kara. I just hope this whole "good Lex" will be a very short facade.

Man, what I believe is that after that encounter with his ANGEL....and thus thinking back on his life, he's not putting himself in jail for what he didn't do but all the things he's done in the past....*He has murdered, stolen, oh...and let's not forget kidnapping and imprisoning meteor freaks against their will.." So..my take on it is that he's desperately trying to repent to FACE HIS DEMONS. This saddens me though because WE ALL KNOW Lex will go off the deep end sooner or later...but this is also a good thing because WE ALL KNOW LANA WILL NOT BE THE CAUSE OF HIS COMPLETE TURN TO THE DARK SIDE...RIGHT????

It's the same thing that happened after the very first episode of Smallville ... Lex considered himself given a "second chance" when Clark pulled him out of the car and he wanted to change and take things with a good attitude and turn away from his party days in Metropolis.

Getting saved by Kryptonians (when he doesn't know they are Kryptonians) has a good influence on Lex -- he wants to turn away from all he's done with experimenting with kryptonite and murdering and pretending that his wife was pregnant ... but I'm guessing this new "facing the demons" attitude won't last for long, unfortunately.

Because he knows he has a 'get out of jail free' card, aka Clona.
