View Full Version : Is Lex Truly Remorseful Over His Actions Last Year?

All that he's built over the past season - 33.1, masterminding a false pregnancy to convince Lana to marry him, making an enemy of Clark - has been literally put through the wash. Now Lana's believed to be dead, he's charged with her murder, 33.1 is in shambles, and his father's nowhere to be found. But is he truly beyond redemption? Those tears were real. Kara's intervention has made Lex question why he's been given a second chance. He even stood up to Bizarro despite the prospect of finding out what he's wanted to know about Clark. Hell he even defended Clark, the guy who blamed him for Lana's murder. Taking all this into account, is this a new Lex Luthor? Has he seen the error of his ways?

I think, if they're true to the character as portrayed, there's hope.
But since I think they'll go with the comic book version, things will only get worse.
I'll enjoy him while it lasts.

I was so sad for Lex. I am really pulling for him, although I know he will go down the dark path. I love Lex.

I think Lex is truly remorseful, but believing he's just lost the love of his life will probably harden him after he thinks over it a while. He might think that loving only hurts people and then vow to himself that he'll never love anyone again, though this probably wouldn't be revealed directly to the audience.

I think he's really had his eyes opened. He can clearly see the good path. The question is... when he's out of jail, running Luthorcorp, confronted with Clark and Kara's mysteries... will he hold to the things he saw when he was on the verge of death... harrowed by grief? My guess. Nope.

I didn't vote, because at this point, I think Lex is somewhere near the middle ground. He's still clearly over-ambitious, but amnother rescue from death, Lionel's absence, and Lana's "death" seem to have him on the edge. He wants to do good, but his lust for power and control is very much alive.

Ugh I hate this goodguy Lex, I hate Lex being remorsefull of Lana's "death" even after she betrayed him . Wasnt Lex supposed to have lost himself to the darkness in season 5 already? Isnt that what the Al guy said? Why does he still defend clark the guy whose been interfering in his relationship with his wife?

I think he is at the moment. But something else will push him further down.

I think he thinks he's remorseful. If he's ever truely felt remorse, however, is another story, because with every apology Lex has ever made, he's also had a secret lab or some alternate motive (or you know, even a secret room dedicated to Clark) behind him.

No way!! he is too evil to change in one ep.

I think the only thing he regrets is getting caught. Lex has to take what he wants and he twists the logic to suit him. He said he loved Lana and everything he did was because he loved her, but the things he did to her were unforgivable.

I'm not quite sure how to answer because of the fact that, with Lex, nothing is ever what it seems. There were moments in S6 when he acted and sounded like he truly loved Lana, and yet, at other times, he did stuff that betrayed him as the scumbag he really is... and will become. While at the moment he seems to be willing to go to jail for Lana's murder - regardless of whether or not he was actually responsible - only time will tell us if he's really truly remorseful or if he's just had a momentary 'epiphany'.

If Lex was really trying to atone from his demons after being saved, why the HELL would he help the phantom?
He's lying, for some reason.
He's pretending, for some reason.

I'd like to believe it's temporary and that he was sitll in shock over Lana's "death". Hopefully, once he finds out she faked her death and sent him to jail for it, he'll come out with vengence.

i think of lex like anakin skywalker lol he goes back and fourth between bad and good, the moment he found out from clark lana died you could see the good lex come out and he even tells clark to get out of here when the phantom shows up,later after he sees kara(he thinks its an angel) he thinks hes been givin a second chance....so i think well see some of the old lex this season the one clark used to like, hell he even said he wouldnt help bizzaro kill clark and tried to stop bizzaro with a gun. but how long will this goodness last? before he becomes Darth Lex lol

He genuinely is sad over Lana, and he knows he's innocent of her murder . . . but he did hit her, he's still all about 33.1. I think it is a temporary thing because of a near death experience . . . and when he finds out that Lana faked it to get him in trouble, etc. the evil will come rushing back

Ditto. Lex and Lionel have had those good guy moments, it will pass.

I agree with Radiofyer. I do believe Lex is truly remorseful, but the darkness in a Luthor is just too overwhelming to discard.

I think that are bringing back the complexity that is Lex Luther. Not some cartoon version of hey look this is a bald evil guy youst hate him because he is evil. SV's Lex always had this up and down good and evil thing going on. I think this is the part where he has a life changing experience and realizes the error of his ways. But he will always struggle with his curiosity it's what always gets him introuble so he'll truely to repent but he'll be drawn back like he has before by his insatiable curiosity.

I think he is sincere. All he knows that happened is that he was going to die, and then he saw an "angel" looking at him and he woke up on the ground, alive, with her standing over him. He thinks he was saved by an angel and he thinks it was for a reason.
However, something is going to flip the switch again. He won't stay like this for long.

I think Lex really did love Lana, and he's mistaken his saddness for some kind of sick sense of remorse...He'll be dark and evil again soon.
I think Lex changes ethickodes like other people change socks! Now he is all goody goody again because, let's be honest he wants something from Kara, and his chances are better if he pretends to wear a white hat!
