I can't wait to see Kristin Bell on heroes when it comes back on air.
I hear she's playing a character called Elle, and that she will be linked to Claire, HRG, and Peter. Personally i hope that shes like Claires friend or cousin or something, and i think Kristin and Milo would make a good couple on the show? (only if claire and elle are not related... lol)

I wonder if shes going to be good or bad?

Any ideas???

I just read about this at the newsstand waiting in line at the grocery store. I was really excited to see that Kristin Bell was joining the cast. I'm not a dedicated Hero's fan but I'm going to give it a try next season just because of Kristin.

In the article it said she passed over a spot on "Lost" and that she has a really cool power. She also said she hopes that she is bad (but she didn't seem to know for sure.)

No wonder she didn't get considered for Kara on SV - with two of network TV's biggest shows pounding down her door.

Yeah she would have made a really good Kara, but i don't know whether she would would have accepted the role anyway. From being the main character in a show to just a back-up... Heroes and Lost are a little different, i mean there is not really a main character, its a story that revolves around multiple stories and people.

I've heard her power is going to be something to do with electricity... It's going to be exciting.

I'm so excited that Kristen's going to be on Heroes. I absolutely adore both Heroes and Kristen. I was so disappointed when I heard that VM was cancelled, but this makes me feel alot better. I was afraid that Kristen might fade away, but now she won't. Kristen's a great actress and I'm glad we'll be seeing more of her. As for her character, Elle, I can't wait to find out more about her. I'm sure she'll be awesome! :)

Not being a fan of KB in the first place I went in with no expectations for her acting or her character, but I was sorely disappointed nonetheless. I hope she steps it up a notch the next time she's on. Right now I wish she'd go away and give screen time to more interesting characters.

I believe that when Matt's story was developing people thought that he too was an uninteresting character and a bad actor.

Of course we all now know that both Matt and Greg Grunberg are awesome.

Bell is a seriously great actress. Just giver her time for her character to develop.

She's so awesome!!! She also has killer quotes on Heroes.
Like "What's your superpower? Punching Bag?" I was rolling off the floor when I heard that.

She has good one liners here, but they're nothing compared to the one liners of Veronica Mars.

^VM and the character are such a ripoff of Buffy, lol...I bought the dvds on recommendation and I'm still on season 1 right now, and I cringe every time Veronica says something incredibly witty and smart, way beyond her years, which as it turns out is ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME. She's only a high school kid for christ's sake. lol

They could have set the series in college instead, I probably wouldn't be so annoyed by VM's super-genius and impossibly advanced maturity then.

Again to me, the writing style mirrors Buffy so much it's criminal. Veronica is clearly a total clone of Buffy Summers.

Ok, I'm on the first season box set as well, and admittedly have never seen Buffy. So I don't hvae a comment pertaining to that, but as for her maturity, you'd be surprised at the maturity level of many high school aged kids today. And also surprised at the extreme anti-maturity of others.

Yeah you're sort of right about the maturity thing, especially since she's a girl, it's well known that girls tend to mature quicker (for whatever reason). Plus losing her mother, best friend to murder, getting date-raped etc, probably accelerated the maturing process no doubt. But what I really have a problem with is the things that come out of her mouth. Her sarcasm and wit is razor sharp perfect all the time, how her mind can process and come up with the amazing comebacks and other things she says so quickly and constantly is beyond impossible for almost anyone anywhere I'm sure, much less a high school girl. I know it's just tv and a fictional show, but still, it's a little too extreme.

If you enjoy VM, I highly recommend Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spinoff series Angel, as the writing style of VM seems to have been definitely inspired by these (superior) shows in many ways, and Veronica is basically Buffy in a lot of ways. Angel starts off after the events of Season 3 of Buffy I believe so you should watch the first 3 Buffy seasons first. And the sets are much cheaper than they used to be, and are often available at amazing sale prices so it's a great time to collect.

Not sure what episode number, but I remember it was on Disc Five, Hot Dogs. Or something like that. It was the first episode where I thought they went a little over the top with it. But I suppose that was because of the relatively unentertaining main plot of the episode, and they needed something to cover that up. Or something.

Hmm... Possible explanation for her immense wit: she religiously watches Buffy?

I really do want to check out Buffy- but I'm already collecting way too many series as box sets (and behind on the ones I have), and the occult themes turn me off a bit. I'll try and borrow a disc from one of my friends (I'm sure someone I know has one) or go to Amazon unbox or something.

Anyway, being the massive spoiler magnet I am, the ending to the first season has already been spoiled for me. DO NOT read the interview with Kristin Bell about how she was almost cast as Chloe Sullivan. Trust me. (It also had spoilers to the end of the second season, but upon seeing the first ones I immediately exited.)

I feel like i almost feel in love with Kristen the first time i saw her on Heroes. I noticed how great of an actress she is and not to mention how beautiful she is. So of course after that i checked out Veronica Mars(which i have seen the whole series 2 times already in like a month and a half). Now I am checking out her movies. So far i have seen Reefer Madness(which is also the first musical i sat all the way through), 50 Pills, Deepwater(which she is only in like maybe 10 mins fully), Spartan, and Pulse(which i bought also). She is just the perfect example of what a Hollywood actress should be.

It's not always bad, but they do go a bit overboard on occasion -- especially with the things she says in her narrations or thoughts (in which she sounds virtually identical to Sarah Jessica Parker from Sex and the City, lol). Near the end of S1 her dad told someone that Veronica wasn't your average 17 year old or something like that, I liked that they did that because it covers the super genius thing I'm complaining about so I can just shut up about it already and move on. I finished S1 recently and am on 2 now btw. Awesome end to the season, best ep of the season too imo. Season 2 didn't quite pick up where 1 ended, it sort of felt flat. I've seen the first 3 eps so far, so far nothing too impressive.

I didn't see that extra but I could definitely see her as Chloe, and AM as Veronica for that matter, sort of works both ways. I make it a point not to view extras until after I'm done a season as I've been spoiled before too. Especially with shows you've never seen before, it's best to stay away until season end, or even series end.

It wasn't an extra, it was an interview on the internet. I generally do wait to watch the extras until the end. But somehow, no matter how hard I try to avoid them, the spoilers attack me from hidden areas.

I think I heard somewhere that originaly Veronica Mars was going to be a Chloe Sullivan spinoff, with her leaving Smallville after her season 3 "death", but they decided to keep her in SM early in pre-production, and go ahead with the spinoff as an original.

That is so far from the truth though. Rob Thomas had the idea of doing a teen noir type show since i believe late 80's early 90's. It was orginally going to be about a boy though. Then he decided at some point to turn the teen into a girl. Then he heard about UPN wanting a show about a teenaged girl but different from what the normal teen girl show was like. So Rob pitched the idea to UPN and they liked it. So Veronica Mars was never conected to Smallville except how Chloe and Veronica are kind of a like. Also how Kristen and Allison look a tiny bit a like.

I'm into Veronica Mars' 2nd season on dvd now, and all of the sudden Kristen Bell ain't lookin' so cutesy teen anymore. lol

She's 27 now, and that means in the 2nd season which aired around 2005/06, she was around 25 playing an 18 year old. And it shows...

Anyway just thought I'd point that out, sort of reminds me of the whole Tom Welling/Clark Kent fiasco (but obviously to a lesser extent  ).

Pa Mars: Veronica...you're looking....OLD...how old are you again?
Veronica: What do you mean? I'm just a cutesy 18 year old, can't you tell by the way I act and dress? Tee hee!;)

Also, while your comment is true in a lot of cases, exceptions do exist. Hayden and her character Claire aren't that different in age on Heroes, for example.

You just reminded me of something from a S2 ep of VM I saw a short time back. There was this bit involving Wallace (I think that's his name, V's best friend) and his little brother, a little brother that to me came out of nowhere. (Did the kid even exist in the first season?? Lol must have completely slipped by me.) Anyway the mom was talking to Wallace about his new girlfriend, and his little bro, who looked like he was only 6 or 7, said "Did you hit that yet?" Wtf?? Lol a kid that young would never say something like that, he doesn't (or at least shouldn't) be emotionally or intellectually mature enough to come up with such a line or be able to use it so effectively dead-on in the right context like that. Ridiculous. Lol, but I guess that's just another day in the world of Veronica Mars, where everyone (that includes 6 yr olds) is way smarter (or more adult) than they should, and in some cases, possibly CAN be. lol

(Did the kid even exist in the first season?? ...Lol a kid that young would never say something like that, he doesn't (or at least shouldn't) be emotionally or intellectually mature enough to come up with such a line

I can say with certainty that he did not exist in the first season. Never shown, never mentioned. And that's seriously unforgivable, to throw in a character like that with no explanation.

Unfortunately, I can see a six or seven year old in today's culture spouting stuff like that. That kind of thought is slowly permeating younger and younger kids. They don't understand it, but in my experience some little kids do respond in that kind of manner.
(If the kid was intentionally joking, then yah, it's unrealistic for him to pull it off. I think the one suspension of disbelief on Veronica Mars is, besides the generic mystery trope of the-guy-who-was-introduced-barely-earlier-in-the-episode-but-either-not-much-was-revealed-about-him-or-it-was-heavily-suggested-that-he-couldn't/wouldn't-have-done-it-did-it, is that humans have a wit 10x that of us)

Lol I kept thinking I just missed a proper introduction or just completely forgot about it or something....but you've confirmed my suspicions. It is a TV show. What do you expect. It has to have little things like that.

Also yes Wallaces little brother was in season 1. He was in a couple episodes for season 1. But oddly enough in season 2 I don't think he was there when Wallace graduated from High School.

Also it's not that I am defensive about her. I just didn't see much of a change in her look from season 1 to season 2. Now Season 3 you can notice a differance.

So I've watched a few eps of Buffy. A love/hate relationship is forming between us. On the one hand, the characters are all great- on the other, the FoTW seems to be very corny.

It seems like Veronica Mars has the more believable delivery (of dialogue), Buffy has the more believable dialogue.

Season 3 is the best season imo, and it's also the first season where the cheapskates finally pony up the dough for better cameras (in other words, the PQ is finally decent by S3). Seasons 1 and 2 are marred by a lousy picture, a cheap soundtrack/score, cheap everything (especially the first season). Season 3 enjoyed a money injection in every department, and it really paid off. 3 and 4 were Buffy's very best for me, but it went downhill from there. But S1 is without a doubt the worst.

When Heroes returns for Volume Three, one of the actors who had a large fan base before coming onto the show might not be returning in a regular capacity.
