Jack Bauer tribute : Broken wings

Hello everybody,

Here's my new video. I used the song Broken Wings by Alter Bridge. It's a 24 video (24 is my other favorite show with Smallville, I love it :D !!) and it contains scenes from all the seasons. I hope you will like this new vid.

OK ,I have to be the only person who has never watched an episode of 24....
Im a big Keifer fan but the show just doesnt get me....
But I enjoyed your vid very much!!! Fantastic editing and vid quality as allways!!!

Your not the only one Lane...I haven't watched a single episode of 24 either. :lol:
But, I too am a big Keifer fan as well.
I know the basic premise about the show but it never really peaked my interest.
However, your video was superb lara.
I really liked your editing and matching the scenes up with the song.
Great song selection by the way, Broken Wings is one of my favorite songs by Alter Bridge.

You aren't the only ones Lane and Tom, I also haven't seen a single ep of 24.:lol: Lol I just don't enjoy the genre. On a related note I never watched a single ep of Alias either. I once tried to but it bored me... And I tried to get into 24 when it first started but it just couldn't keep my interest for an entire episode...lol. I guess I just don't like shows that try to be "real world"...lol I'm more into fantasy/sci-fi or anything with unrealistic premises like most comedies, lol. But your video was simply fantastic, Lara. In fact I'd say it's one of your very best. Beautiful PQ, brilliant scene selection and emotional story-telling as always. This is definitely one of my new favorites from you. Keep up the amazing work Lara, and hope to see you around on the boards more often.:)

24 is often as unrealistic as they come.

It was very difficult to find the scenes I needed. i liked opening clip,
and i liked your sequence from 1:16 - 1:28, i liked the split scenes
and i liked the flash @ 1:32 into the fire clip

Hey Chris, I highly recommend you to don't watch this video if you haven't seen the season 6 because there are many scenes from the new seasons :)

I never watched 24 so I have no clue what's going on in the vid but it's an awesome vid as usual. Here are some of my fav parts.....:D

The intro was cool to start it off. I liked that.
I liked the scenes of him getting ready to go out during the first instrumental before the lyrics began.
The "fight the fight alone" you matched well with the scenes of him there.
"Dims a faded light on our souls" at 3:33 was a good match with the scene of him in turmoil.
A lot of cool split screen scenes throughout the video I noticed were cool.
Wow! He's yelling on timing with the lyrics at 1:20.
Cool split screen FX at 1:43. Looks really cool!
Kicks the glass on beat. Loved that at 1:44
Cool beat matches with the gun fire at 1:55! That rocked!
Wow another beat match at 2:02 where he gets shot on the subway or train!
The car exploding on beat at 2:06 was perfect!
Jeez I could just go on and on with all the beat matches to the scenes with gun shots and stuff! Man! You rock girl!:lol:
You did great scene changes on beat too all throughout! Amazing timing and editing!
Great wind down to the end with instrumental at 2:46

Hey lara that was great. Y'know they say Superman wears Jack Bauer underwear :D (not sure if that makes sense in France--more of a US pop culture reference). But anyway, your vid was awesome. Everything came together nicely and even had a decent story flow. I wasn't a huge fan of the song, but y'know me...I'm picky that way.

Hey lara thanks for the link to your jack Bauer tribute vid. Very awesome job on this one! You really put it together in an impressive way. The song was a great fit for the show and your editing and scene selection matched up perfectly with the song/music. Awesome stuff on the split screens and effects as well. I've never watched 24 but I really enjoyed you vid. Very awesome job!

Cool start with the 24 intro that made a great introduction to the vid. Awesome stuff with the opening part of the vid. From 1-29 was well matched up with the slower intro music scene selection and your pacing were really smooth there. Also nice job transitioning into the lyrical part of the song at 29. And I really liked how you did the split screen at 20. The song lyrics of the first verse fit the character/show really well especially the "fight the fight alone when the world is full of victims" lines. Great scene selection and lyric matching there. I thought it was really effective how you showed the emotional impact his experiences have had on him in the section from 47 -1:16. Also very cool stuff druing that part with the effects at 53, 59 and 1:08.

Awesome job with the scene selection and editing from 1:17-1:46 Very cool effect at 1:42. 1:56-2:12 same thing with the next part really impressive job with the pacing and with the scene selection as well. The action scenes were a really great fit during that verse. Very cool editing to the beats at 2:33-2:40. And awesome job with the ending right after that, you matched the tone of the song perfectly with your scene selection and pacing at the end.

Well Nanette did give me some codecs so perhaps that helped me view your vid as you made it originally. I also seem to have better luck with some vids on my work PC even though it's a dinosaur.

I really liked this video. Finally you have found someone who has actually seen the show. :D I have been a fan since S1, and I continue to watch. Although I definately don't like the show as much as I used to. It is starting to get ridiculous. I don't know how much more they can come up with for Jack Bauer.. LOL Plus, from what I heard they just signed KS up for another 3 seasons?! What I find to be most funny is that back in S3 he was actually saying they should kill off his character. He was getting sick of the show and did not want to be typecast. Now all Kiefer can do is sing the show's praises. I guess more money will change anyone's attitude towards something.. :lol

The only thing I found distracting with this video is that the size of the scenes would keep changing. Look at the first clip with Kiefer and the gun. You will notice that the clip doesn't stretch all the way to fill the screen. Then the next clip has a widescreen that fills the whole screen. It would keep switching between different size widescreens for the whole video like that, which was a bit distracting to me.

Everything else was fantastic though.

- Great use of the 24 font and opening and the beginning. Definately made it feel like a legitimate 24 video.

- Broken Wings was a great song to use for a JB character study and 24 in general. It just fits really well. It is not one of my all time favorite songs, but it fits with theme and feel of the show really well.

- Your scene selection as a whole was just great in this video. I never realized how many times Jack has cried on the show until I saw your video.. LOL

- Loved the split @ .20 with Tony and Jack.

- Another sweet split @.38

- Loved seeing Nina Myers in your video @ .52. She is one of my all time favorite 24 characters.

- Another sweeti split @ .53/wChloe. Although I HATE Chloe. One of the most annoying characters in the history of television. She is such a BIT*H!

- The kiss between Jack and Audrey @ 1:15 was great because it fit really well with the slowing of the music.

- Kiefer's scream @ 1:20 was hilarious! Went really nicely with the music.

- Sweet effect @ 1:42 with Kiefer running through the flames like that. Looked awesome.

- Liked the scene you ended on. It felt nice with the music as it was coming to a close. Plus with the rollercoaster ride this video takes you on, it is nice to get a break from all the action.
