Did anyone catch the Rick James sketch the other night? That was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time, no exaggeration. "What did the five fingers say to the face?" "What?" "SLAP!!!" ... "Cocaine's a helluva drug." The scene where Rick was grinding his shoes into Eddie Murphy's couch literally had me rolling.

Chappelle's Show is easily one of the funniest shows on TV.

Yeah, the John Mayer skit was great too. My favorite skits have been Rick James, the Real World parody (Mad Real World), Samuel Jackson's beer ("Mmm, mmm, b*tch!"), and the one about reparations ("I'm riiiich, beyotch!!!"). I guess most of his comedy hinges on the liberal use of the word "b*tch," but it's still pretty darn funny.

OMG That skit was a riot. My mother called me afterwards and well imagine how older african-americans about things but the fact that she thought the family was funny just goes to show that Dave and his writing partner are geniuses. I was highly amused at that one.

My only problem with Dave's show is that it passes so quickly, and every time you turnaround, he's saying "we gonna take a quick commercial break". It's frustrating.

I don't like when musical guests take up time at the end either.....

Yeah he needs to cut the music. It is usually awful and he takes loads of commercial breaks. They should give him a full hour.

Agreed! I don't think he's short on material. To me the show has only gotten funnier as it's gone on.

The only time that I enjoyed the music was when Dave sang those songs in the music experiment. I'm not a rap fan, so I usually turn it to something else.

Yeah i don't like the Rappers at the end singing either, Dave could feel that with another skit, to me its just a waste of time, and i like Rap music its just it seems pointless at the end of each show...

BUT it seems they only show the music cause they ran out of comedy, they really dont need it everyweek.

The Chappelle Show is the funniest show I have ever seen. The first time I saw this show, was when the DVD was released. I fell in love with it instantly. I am glad that I saw it for the first time on DVD because it is completely uncensored. I have always been a huge fan of Chappelle, and this show makes me like the guy even more. The skits that he comes up with are awesome. The funniest skit he ever did, was when he played the black white supremacist. Even my parents who are uptight and liberal minded folks were laughing their asses off at that one.

Since I never knew about the show until the DVD was released, I never had a chance to watch season 2. From what I have heard it is not as good. But I would still love to catch the DVD when it comes out to compare the two seasons.

I think the Chappelle Show is so funny because it manages to poke fun at racism and all of the stereotypes very effectively. Even the most uptight and liberal minded people find this show funny. I also like the show because Dave Chappelle really pushes the envelope with some of his skits. I have always been a huge fan of Dave Chappelle. No one can make me laugh like him. All of his characters are always entertaining.

The Clayton Bigsby skit continues to be my favorite. The idea of a blind and black white supremacist was pure genius.

I love the show for the same reasons Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles is so funny...because it makes jokes of things that just most people just go...oh my god! :eek:

Plus I don't see it done out of maliciousness, you should be able to enjoy it without worry whether it's P.C. or not!

I just finished watching the season one DVD. These are the top 5 skits in my opinion.

1) Dave playing Street Hoops against the kid with cancer. I have never laughed so hard in my life.

2) Clayton Bigsby "The Blind Supremacist".

3) The Real World skit.

4) The music video "Turn my Headphones Up"

5) The skit where Dave buys the video camera that shows all. Seeing Carson Daily as an old, fat, bald guy made me laugh so hard!!

The second season will probably be coming to DVD when the sales of the first season die down. The first season of the Chappelle Show has been on the top ten list of DVD sales ever since it came out. Now whether or not it is still there, is anybody's guess. But they are probably figuring that they want to milk season one for all its worth before they put out season two. Once season two is out, the sales for one would obviously go down.

They are running into the same situation with the book "The Da Vinnci Code". It has been number one the best seller list for 75 weeks and counting. They will not put the book out on paper back until the sales of the hardback goes down. I hate reading hardback books, and I am dying to get the paperback copy because everyone has been raving about it.

Unfortunately it all comes down to sales.

Now that Dave's back, hopefully he'll sit down with Comedy Central and work out a deal to finish the third season and continue on with the show. Doubtful, I know, but I'm still hoping.

I read in the interview with Oprah that Dave was open to coming back but only under certain circumstances.

"I want to restructure the deal, half of the DVD revenue, if we can make a deal where I have the control of that, that I like, and half the DVD revenue goes back to the people that we see fit, I think I'd be more than willing to finish with where we started, I'm not mad at anybody."

I think Comedy Central is suppose to air about 4 new episodes that they filmed before they stopped shooting sometime this spring. I've seen a few previews on their site, they were all hillarious.

Anyway, since no one else has started up a thread for it, I thought I would, seeing as this is one of my favorite TV shows.

I have both seasons, and I hope dave does come back for another season or two his show was the funniest show on TV period!

Still is I watch the dvd's alot, and the episodes are still hilarious.

Don't really think he will come back tho... :\
