I've loved most of Nick Hornby's work. "About a Boy" was great and I can't stop recommending A Long Way Down. Everyone should read "A Long Way Down". Oh yeah, and Catherine Zeta-Jones was hot in the movie Version of High Fidelity ;)

So while browsing Barne's and Nobles I discovered "How to Be Good".

Anyone here read it yet? If any book warrants discussion then "How to Be Good" certainly does.

The protagonist isn't a bad person. Yes, she does spend the first half of the book having an affair while her husband takes care of the kids, but she's not a bad person. She does tries to sabatouge her husband's plan to have the neighbors adopt some street kids but she's not bad. Heck, one of the kids that gets adopted winds up stealing their foster family blind.

But that's the point. Things are never as simple or black and white as they seem. Doing good doesn't make things good, and sometimes make things worse.

If anyone has read this book, please post here, I'd really enjoy discussing it.
