I've just been catching up on the old sesons of Smallville and its too bad he got written out of the show. Clark has no close guy friends. He had Lex, but we all know what heppened there. He hangs around with Chloe, Lois, and I guess Lana is back in the picture now too.
He was just a good character all around.

He asked for his release because he felt he wasn't used enough, giving him that release was the best decision ever made on smallville.
Not only did he either ruin or nearly ruin every scene he was in, but he gave us the worst episode in smallville history aka Velocity before he left.
a Paper bag could have acted better than Sam Jones III could and would have made a better pete.
So to answer your question, no I am not sad he is gone I am very very glad he is gone and so should everyone else.

So should everyone else? Speak for yourself. He was a loyal and trustworthy friend. Of Course I miss him. And his acting wasn't bad either.

I definately miss Pete. I wish he would come back. He was a wonderful friend to Clark. As for the acting... I thought they were all pretty bad and awkward in the first couple of seasons. All of the characters have since grown. Who knows how much Sam would have improved if he had stayed on for seasons 4, 5 and 6.
I think Clark needs that true male friendship that he had with Pete again.

Johnny Luck.....is that copied and pasted from another thread? lol
I did like Pete on the show but at times it DID seem like Sam was Overacting a bit. But overall, I think it was a good riendship Pete and Clark had. I watched the episoe last week where he left. Clark literally begged him not to go, that was a good scene between the two of them. I would like to see Pete return though, atleast for some guest roles. Have him appear in a few episodes during some story arch. Id like to see what interaction between them would be like now and dialogue between Chloe and him could be hilarious

I would like to see Pete come back. However, I must agree Johnny Luck. Velocity was absolutely horrible and Sam Jones might have had something to do with that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was all him. The writing was too horrible. They didn't need a Fast and The Furious episode.

All of the actors/actresses have vastly improved since they started the show. There is no doubt in my mind that Sam would have improved as well.

I want Pete to come back AT LEAST for one episode.
I dont care if the story is any good it would just be nice to see him interact with Clark and Chloe once more.
They should bring him back. At least for the Series Finale.

True. It would be nice to see how he reacts to Clark's new power(s) and to everyone knowing Clark's secret.

I completely disagree. Velocity was a pretty good episode for a filler. It had a great non-freak villian (Jason Dante) and an interesting situation where Clark's friend starts hanging out with the wrong crowd and gets into a mess where Clark has to decide if he will compromise his morals to help his friend. A pretty important episode in the progression of Clark & the friendship of Clark & Pete if you ask me. Even though Clark was mad at Pete at the end of the episode, Pete remained a good friend, so good that he took a severe beating and almost died not to betray Clark's secret. Something another character besides his parents have yet to do.
Since Pete left, Clark has turned into a BDA and has been very down and despressed if you ask me. There was a huge change between Clark before & after Pete.

Nope.
They didn't develop his character at all, not one bit.
We saw one nod to his political interest, and that was in Drone, season one.
The rest, he was just filler. No, he shouldn't come back.

Nope. It was more like TPTB wanted him gone and Sam Jones had legitimate reason to leave-- his son was sick.

So you don't think it would work if they brought him back as someone got involved in politics in the last few years in Wichita & who's deeply into politics now? I think he would be the only character who could believably interface with Lex on a regular basis. It would be very interesting seeing him in such a role & forming the partnership with Lex that leads up to him becoming vice president in the future.

Maybe he can guess in season 7, just hope that the "kids" don't start with Pete is the real Jimmy .\

I miss Pete. I was sad when he left, cos apart from his parents, Pete was the only person he could trust. And now he has to like close guy friends to be there. Only girls.

I do miss Pete and I thought his acting was fine. Clark doesn't have anyone on the show that is a "buddy" anymore. People have talked about bringing him back for certain episodes, but I was really disspointed it didn't happen for Pa Kent's funeral. I'm holding out hope, possibly a naive hope, for a series finale return!

I don't think TPTB ever want him back.

I would be thrilled if they brought Pete back, but under a different context.
He would have to be involved in politics for it to work, and maybe there could be a Chloe/Pete/Lois correlation through the Daily Planet. I'd love to see those three building careers, plus now Martha's gone so theres a politics void in the show.
