Hi um.. i just joined this web site but i've been a Smallville fan ever since it aired. Anyways, How long is this show going to last for? Just wondering because if they end it in the next 2 seasons, they should at least make a Justice league spin-off or something. Can anyone here help me? Thanks.

Season 7 will very likely be the last. I heard that Tom signed up for an 8th season, but Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk, and Allison Mack won't be in it if there is one. Without Lex, I don't think this show would be the same. Sure they can have a supervillian, but I don't know how well that would work. Especially now that Kara has been announced for season 7. If they would have nixed the Kara idea and had Clark train in season 7, then season 8 could have been the one where Clark gets into journalism.

If you ask me, they desperately want to do a spinoff. But if they piss the fans off enough, which is what I expect will happen when fans see what they will really do with Kara, then forget about there being a spinoff.

I thought Kristin was signed on for an 8th season.

Yeah Michael's the only one definately not coming back after s7.

They really want a spin-off, they've tried two or three times, with this Supergirl one included. Though the show's almost over, I see a SG project as a sequel more or less

yeah the supergirl spinoff is the most likely...Tom has been playing this character for seven seasons soon...as an actor, im shure hes ready to move on....he may love his current job, but he cant play Clark forever...

yea, i've wondered if the reason they are bringing in SG next season is so they can do a spin off with her.

Who knows, Kara, Bizarro and other developments may give this great show a new lease of life and it might power into Season 8. The 2nd half of last season certainly showed there is still life in the old dog yet. But at this stage I think I am with many SV fans saying let the show end on a high while it is still going well, i.e. end of Season 7.

IMO, after season seven, if the supergirl thing does what they want it to do, which is take us back to basics, and in their eyes save the show, they will go for an eighth. This will be some of clark and his training, and some of supergirl's adventures in smallville. For that we really don't need lex. Then, hopefully, a metropolis spin off to follow superman, and a supergirl spin off to follow kara. I'm dreaming now, but one can hope!

Overall it's up to CW if Smallville has an 8th season, it doesn't matter what the producers, writers, actors, etc wants, if the CW says that's it than that's it.
