heyyy...thanks fr posting MacKdaddy!!!!!

welll..i found this piece while browsing..i think it would be nice to know more about Krypton...i hope a bit of trivia would be nice to fill up the gap of the hiatus....

Kryptonite wasn’t RADIOACTIVE before the planet exploded. When the uranium core of Krypton exploded, the most common elements of the planet (like silicon, on Earth) were transmuted into a radioactive element generally called Kryptonite.

If Superman wasn’t super powered, it would be only mildly harmful to him. (Luthor wore a ring made of Kryptonite, to keep Superman away from him-- until he got cancer and had to have his hand amputated!)

Somehow, the Kryptonite reacts with Superman’s body to give him a form of radiation poisoning that is very painful and can be quickly fatal. (Think of that Russian guy lately that died of polonium poisoning. Same idea.) It is like a sunburn all through his body, that affects his internal organs, too.

They had to come up with a weakness for Superman, because he was getting too powerful. (When there was a Superman radio serial program on the air, the actor that played the voices of Superman and Clark Kent [Bud Collyer] wanted some vacation time, so they had to have Superman out of commission for a couple weeks.)

But even before that, Siegel and Schuster (the boys who invented Superman) had come up with a story so that Superman himself could learn that he came from Krypton and what his limits were. The publishers would not publish the story, because he revealed his secret identity to Lois and they wanted to keep that. (I guess they didn’t want to have Superman turn into a romance strip.) So it was not until recently that they were able to publish the original story.

Go to the site Superman Through the Ages and read the story “K-Metal from Krypton”. It is absolutely incredible.

Besides Kryptonite, the only things that could harm Superman were magic (very rare) and Kryptonian diseases (also very rare.) But Kryptonite was being over used. They had all kinds of different colors of Kryptonite, some of which could do strange things to him, not just hurt him but make him act weird or change his body. And, back in the 1960’s, you could look out the window in Metropolis just about every week and see—and RECOGNIZE!!!!—a Kryptonite meteor landing out in the street.

They tried getting rid of Kryptonite in the 70’s and cutting Superman’s powers in half. But they forgot, that half of infinity is still infinity.

helllloooo...nybody...???:(

She was created specifically for the series, and was created by taking various aspects of the Lois and Lana character's through out the history of the comics. She has a lot in common with the Lana in in the Death of Superman story arc of the 1990's, i.e. Clark's best friend, keeper of his secret, and she 'settled' for Pete when she realized Clark only saw her as a friend ('Truth' showed that Pete has unrequited feelings for Chloe, and its been a running theme that Chloe loves Clark more than he loves her).

There is also a theory, quite popular before Lois joined the cast. Its still existing, only less so, that Chloe would eventually change her name to Lois when she becomes a professional journalist. one of the biggest clues cited by believers of this theory is in 'Lexmas' when Lex has a vision of a possible future, in which 'Chloe' appears on Clark's arm, but is never called by name, only as "Miss my book is about to be Published", and 'Lois' is no where to be seen.

there you go Mackdaddy.......

Chloe Sullivan is part of the story (from the Superboy comics) And, she does discover that Clark has super abilities. She is killed (by an explosion, I think) and Clark becomes dispondent that he is unable to save her.

Perhaps that's why we had the explosion at the end of season 3. :)

Lana and Pete were originally meant to be Superboy's answer to Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, respectively.

IMO......we can sorta say that SV is alternate UV...

they only brought in Lois Lane to placate the growing number of people who kept asking "Where's Lois" all the time during the first two seasons, and who never actually read any of the comics, only watched the films and TV series.

I will never understand why they brought her on:rolleyes:

Just because people wondered where she was at? Well I know there a lot of people who want Chlark but I don't see them making any moves to gives us that:rolleyes:

that again..because the producers of the show knew it was Smallville and NOT Superman......bUT here'z a thing......how many of those people who have not seen the show ever...refer to Tom as Clark Kent??? Everybody says "Thats the guy who plays Superman"...

the moment...Superman comes up, Lois Lane follows....therefore...in order to further enhance the ratings of the show, they had to bring in Lois Lane...especially...at the end of 3rd Season...because the ratings sucked that time...the show was at its all time low...!!!!!

Well they were getting less than 4 million viewers the last few episode this year and barely got to 4 million for Phantom. I don't think it can get any lower than that.

I do agree with you about nobody knowing who Tom is, as far as being Clark. I dunno I just really don't care for EDLois. She does apsolutely nothing for me. Just want Chlark:D

We could discuss anything super here, right?

.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ............................ DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THAT SUPES COSTUME IS THE DUMBEST THING EVER? I mean, the underwear and the cape and the bright primary colors, it's too much!

Glad I got that off my chest! :p

*raises hand*

I totallly agreeee...!!!!!!!!!!! Moreover....all these comics were written back in 19th century...and in those times, the wardrobe consisted of more capes sorta...and tights........I dunno about bright and primary colors..but probs thats the reason they have such costumes...

I would like if they atleast modify the costumes a bit....I mean..sticky leather tights and stufff....its not really very appealing ....atleast to me...!!!!

Thats why I wouldnt like to see Tom in the costume.he looks kool normally..

Ok.. here is my question.

The whole cave arch, were they a SV creation or are they mythos?

And can we assume that Kryptonian youth were often sent to earth to sow their wild oats so to speak?
