what's the deal with flash

Ok in the eposide run that man hit flash from behind. I was wondering why the flash did'nt get up and throw super fast punches at that man. Instead he laid down. If i had flash speed i would have kick that guy arse but flash just let the dude hit him. When he pointed the gun at flash should'nt he been able to dodge the bullets of even garb caught them before they hit him. I mean he is faster then superman. I just thought that was strange.

that stuff always bothers me too. but if we were to ask "why didnt he just..." every episode, there'd be no show!

i also think it's interesting that smallville has consistently shown flash (aka impulse) as faster. there's always the conflict in comics about who's faster - flash or superman. they should make it a little more ambiguous.

It isn't ambiguous. The Flash has always been faster than Superman. When they race, Superman has to give it his all. The Flash is pretty much out for a leisurely jog.
