How come when Peter was just about to explode he told this to Claire. Why, before she came, didn't he ask Nikki to kill him?

Because if he started to explode, Claire would have to be there to stop him. She's the only other one who can regenerate. Niki would die.

No it wasn't. Before Claire appeared he had a few seconds of 'panic'. He could have yelled Nikki then.

Maybe he meant Claire was the only one who could stop him because Claire knew exactly where to shoot him to kill him. The exact spot she pulled the glass out of Peter's head when he was dead before.

Ummm, everyone is over anylzing everything! He said that becuase she had the gun and they had already talked about it. She also knew the kill zone! The place in his head that would "drop him like hes hot".

peter died when the glass was in his brain (same as Claire when the stick was in her brain) because they cannot use their powers when the brain is damaged. Therefore if claire shoots him in the head, and the bullet goes into his brain, he will not be able to regenerate, i.e. he will die

I took it because it was in reference to the radiation he would be letting off. Anyone else would have died from radiation exposure. Like with Ted, Claire was the only one able to get close enough to do something.

Yea, if anyone stops to think for a second you will realize Peter and Nikki had never met so it would make no sense for him to approach her to blow his brains out. Also he didnt just sit and wait for Claire to show up, he asked Hiro to kill him too but then Sylar flung Hiro into ancient japan. lol
