Wow, I'm surprised at the lack of response for this vid, I LOVED it! The music was an excellent choice, I got chills watching your vid. I'm pretty sure it helped that 300 was a great movie, huh? :D

Lane,
I finally got a chance to watch this video. All I can say is EPIC man. Your best video without a doubt. If only you would have sent me a link.. LOL The reason I say this is because the picture quality was BEAUTIFUL on IMEEM, so I can only imagine how good it looks in WMP. The cool thing about IMEEM is that it does not have a size limit, so you can upload completely uncompressed files.
Major props for using the whole song. I would have cut it down for sure. I was impressed by the fact that the video was over 6 minutes long and it didn't feel that way. That takes a lot to keep my attention for that long, especially since I always cut 90% of my vids under 3 minutes.
Scene selection was awesome and I loved the soundbyte that you threw in as well. I admit I was hoping to hear the "This is Sparta" or "Tonight we dine in hell". But the line you chose was great.
Great use of various color flashes, and very nice overlay work. You can do all the exact same overlay work with ghosting and regulars in Vegas though man. There are probably some unique effects that Premiere has. But overlays is not unique to Premiere. I just remember you telling Keith that one of the reasons you switched was due to Vegas' lack to true effects and you said this in tandom with mentioning the zooms/overlays. Anyways back on topic. They looked great in your video, and the ghosting was my favorite effect of the video. I especially loved seeing it on the scene where the army raises their arms in unison.
Just totally kick ass from beginning to end. Epic in ever sense of the word man.

Hey Ryan!!!
Thanx for leaving feedback on my vid. I dont get too much of it in the non Smallville group...
Its cool you thought it was my best...Ive gotten some really great compliments on it....
I didnt want to cut it down because I think this has to be one of the greatest songs to vid too...I had seen another vid done to it so I knew the song could carry it...I agree with you ,the vid doesnt seem like its that long...
I hadnt originally intended to use a vo but I wanted a change in pace for when the big battles started...I held back for the first half of the vid from unleashing the dogs of war!!! :)
Actually bro I did this vid in Vegas....Ive done 3 or 4 vids since this one...If you want to really see a difference ,check out my Pulse vid...Im just getting the good stuff down in premiere and it such a window of options....I really get frustrated when I cant do what I have in my head due to the lack of software abilities...I love Vegas, but I need to go in another direction now....
Thanx again for checking it out and leaving the awesome feedback!!! Ill have to remind myself to send out a few links when I post my vids...Im wishing that this section would become more active...

Lane :) :) :)
I go to this forum and wow !! I have seen your thread ! I have seen your link ! I have seen your vid (on IMEEM) The picture quality is outstanding, the best picture quality I have ever seen on the web. Awesome job on the quality.
The music you used is also one of my favorite music, I just love it. There is so much emotion. I enjoy both the slow and the fast part. Very good choice :D
About the scene selection it was fantastic  I have never seen this movie but I was stick to my screen so your video was beautiful :D The editing was so smooth. I also loved the black fade transitions between the scenes when the song was slow. You are good with the overlay effects too !! Have you used the slow effect on some scenes ? For example between 2'09 to 2'32 ? Because it's one of my favorite effect and your scenes are so slow, but smooth, and the song fits with the scenes, wow it was awesome. I also enjoyed the use of the voice at 3'01. The editing was perfect, there is nothing bad to say :D Perfect !!! Everything was perfect end to end.
OMG, I'm still shivering so it was awesome  :D I agree with Ryan, I think it's your best video !! Outstanding job Lane. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Just ran across this and watched your video, it was excellent. I haven't seen the movie but read Herodotus and know about the battle quite well. You obviously drew from the movie and they have done a good job arming the actors like hoplites (heavily armed infantry) except they don't appear to be wearing breast plates. Being a stickler for detail, that is a gross error.
Even so, after watching your video, I might rent the movie. Thanks.

Hi Lara!!!
Long time no talk.....
Yeah Im going to start sending out some links again...Just been being lazy as usual....
I wish I could take all the credit for that vid quality.. All I can say is it wasnt my rip... I did my best to maintain the quality though...
I love this song too....I first heard it in an amazing Constantine vid...This vid was inspired by that vid...
Im glad you liked the scene selection..I held back the real battle scenes till half way through to try to give it a build...
This was the second to last vid I did with Vegas and I used like 3 layers to pull off the overlays and to brighten out the screen at the same time...
All the slow motion effects except for maybe one scene( I cant remember which ) was like that in the movie...The movie uses alot of dramatic scenes...
I wanted a voiceover there to make a dramatic shift from the slow scenes to the pure battle scemes...There were actually more voiceovers but I cut them .....
Awww,,,thanx for saying it was perfect...Theres nothing I would change on that vid...
Thanx for the wonderful compliments Lara!!! LD
