Woah, what was up there?

I thought he might be dead, but they didn't cover up his face. Still...no one got in back with him, so that wasn't a good sign.

I gotta go with dead, and furthermore, I'm glad. Yesturday I would have been mad to hear it, but after the idiot went after Sylar alone, he deserved what he got...

I think it was left that he could miracously survive, or tragically die. Probably written that way so that if he wanted a "off" from the series he could easily have it.

His character already knew how powerful Sylar was. He already knew his telekinesis and how he eats other people's abilities. This being said, having him "rush at him" firing bullets, and getting them flung back at him was a little too forced and too convienant.....so it feels like it was most likely written that way to give him an out of the series.

i dont think so Greg gumberg seemed he really loved the show to just want an out like that and i think he would have went out with a little more bang or a line or something he just got shot and that was it trust me he isnt dead he might be paralyzed or something next season

I rarely use the term "owned" but it was so appopriate in this instance. I mean come on, I wanna be a mind reader and listen to what Parkman thought in that split second.

Sadly though, the only 2 written parts for him in the finale were to give Peter the hearing ability, and to save Molly......his "death" scene REALLY felt forced...it didn't distract Sylar like say Nikki did...it REALLY didn't feel right in that fight scene.

if i can recall, there were at least 4 or 5 bullets...especially with the force of Sylar's telekinesis...I mean come on some of those had to hit vital organs...not MANY ppl could live through multiple gun shot wounds or in this case telekinetic bullet wounds...

Yeah, he'll probably die between seasons.

Parkman seemd to always want to fit in with the rest, he wanted to be a detective, then when it came down to it, he just wanted to be a cop, to protect & serve, I feel he just wanted to do as much as he could no matter the consiquences, just like a police officer in real life, if you see something that must be done, you gotta step up to the plate and do what you can.

That's what I so much respected about him this episode. I'd pretty much hoped he'd bite the big one up until his last scene. He put it all the line, no matter the consequences.

Well, he got hit pretty hard, but not only did they not cover his face, they had him hooked to an IV, so he probably wasn't dead when they loaded him in the ambulance.

I don't know if he died after though.

It's easily possible that Sylar can't accelerate bullets to the same speed as one being fired, so Matt might not have been hit as hard as four real bullets.

Realistically, Matt should have killed Sylar. Sylar has NEVER been shown to have that kind of an attention span. When he first met Matt, he was busy using TK to lift the other officer's gun to her head when Matt jumped out and shot Sylar three times.

When Sylar was concentrated on Mrs. Bennett, Mr. Bennett slamed the door open and was able to shoot Sylar (the comics confirm he was hit and injured).

The only time Sylar was able to catch a bullet was when it was just him and Mohinder and he was expecting it.

This time around, Sylar was concentrated on choking Peter; Matt should have caught him by surprise and at least been able to hit him with the first bullet.

If Parkman is dead ( :( ), I hope someone at least tells his wife how he died. For all she knows, he went missing for a week and then turned up dead in Kirby Plaza.

What makes you think telekinetic bullets would be any worse than normal bullets? We've never seen Sylar accelerate anything to bullet speeds, so they might have hit much weaker.

ummm guy the amount of force is indirectly related to speed. You can still apply alot of force without much speed. But the idea was that they could have hit vital organs...so yeah

Here are a couple of close ups of the bullets & impact:

It looks like he has a vest on, but that may (probably was) have been for the SFX.

A vest !!
I don't think so. Those bullets entered clean through. 5 of them. I don't know how anyone would survive that. He must be dead.

Peter already had the ability to read minds.

Anyone else find it sorta funny that "reading" minds means "listening" to their thoughts?

^Not really!
