"Is Peter Dead?" Poll

I for one don't think he is, for three reasons:

1) He survived it in the alternate reality

2) They were major pushing the "Peter as a Christ figure" thing in this one. I mean the unconditional love, the supreme power, the yin yang, not to mention letting himself be killed (even though he is essentially immortal) by Claire or Nathan, to save all the others. He'll be back, it's necessary to complete the christ figure role.

3) Again, the yin yang. If Sylar lives, how can he not?

peter`s already been cleared as a main character for season 2. I dont think a main character would just show up in flashbacks.

Just my own opinion here - but I don't feel that Peter was being pushed as 'a Christ figure' in any way. He was a confused guy that had to step up and do what he could to prevent massive death in NY.

I think he's alive. He'll be back. A little wiser, more secure, and possibly with more control over his powers - or maybe even with a clean slate of powers.

I know me too :lol: That whole brother scene was great..here I was sitting there crying and my hubby was like What are you crying at? :rotfl: I think it was the wine talking too a bit but it was a hallmark moment :) I loved the part too when Nathan said about him saving the cheerleader and now saving the world..god that was great :lol: the whole ending was just epic :lol:

Unless they flew into space, which they didn't because the explosion was at cloud height, Peter would fall or fly to survive. Ted was never affected by his own exploding.

Actually - I was thinking more about my neighbors wife....hearing me yelling that out in the middle of the night lol.........

I do think that Peter will be back. He will be wiser, stronger, and more secure and will mourn the loss of his brother and forever turn against his mother.

And just when you think Nathan is really gone - he'll be back!!!!!

It is already explained that he cannot die from his own explosion, the energy or blast is released OUT from his body, he is the source or the "eye of the storm". Also, even when falling unconscious, I'm sure his regeneration would help there.

I agree with Ginx, I don't see Peter as a "Christ figure" as much as I see him as kind of the "Peter Parker" of the Heroes mythology. I think Peter Petrelli exemplifies the whole "with great power comes great responsibility" thing.

How's this for an idea? As Peter explodes, his time travel powers activate on their own and he gets thrown to 1671 Japan just like Hiro. In the future episode, Hiro and Pete seem like good friends. Maybe it's because they both got stuck in the past together.

LOL - I also had a thought that Peter ends up with Hiro but then it turned into more of a comedy thing mixed with a lot of fighting. Kung Fu Hustle in a way lol........ And this is where Peter and Hiro learn how to fight as a team - like they did in the future episode. Just a thought...........

And no - it wouldn't be like TNMT III with the time travel lol......

I don't think we'll see Peter coming back to Earth in the second season. We'll find Peter somewhere a little messed up, memory loss, or just taking a break away from it all. He might even have the scar on his face, but I doubt that. I think that the second volume won't pick up directly after. Maybe a few months after - so that the Heroes can get settled into their 'plans' of trying to move on and mama Petrelli can track down the not-dead-Linderman.

LOL - How funny would that be if Mrs. Petrelli is the person that Molly fears lol - I know I'd fear her. She'd sell out family in a second to achieve her goals.

um the explosion would not hurt peter ted or sylar. Ted has blown up a few times and he live without regeneration.

It's not the explosion that's the scary part for Peter - ITS THE FALL. Yes, Peter can fly but after he goes "boom", he'll likely be unconsious and not will himself to. He'll still survive though because he has Claire regeneration ability.

Poor Nathan though.... Hopefully Nathan just droped him once they got high enough and flew like hell away from Peter. Nathan does seem to move pretty freaking fast when he flies.
