Why do you buy the DVD's??

I for one buy them for the extra content. If all they do is give us the episodes...we can record them ourselves..

I expect to get commentaries, features, interviews, gag reels for the price I pay..

when I dont get them...or they are very sparce on the set - i'm pissed...I feel gyped...the season 5 was very sparce on any extras....

I would also love to see the directors cut of the episodes...but they are rarely shown....

The only dvd set that i've seen come fully loaded are the Stargate Series...If you want to see what can be put on them...take a look and compare....Smallville dvd leave a lot to be desired....

because it better quailty im a big fan and it's just good to have the dvd's so when the show ends u can always go back and watch it all over

If you just want to watch them over and over...you can record them on dvd recorders....far cheaper than buying the sets....my question is..how important are the extras to you....

I have the first three seasons from my brother, but honestly find my recorded episodes much more special, because they are feel "real." I like seeing the outtakes -- Michael Rosenbaum is so MOD EDIT funny! I'd like to see Tom Welling cut loose more. I guess I haven't checked out the commentaries much. Mostly what I feel to be lacking is behind-the-scenes type stuff.

Even if the sets only included the shows, I'd still buy them. I'd much rather watch the shows in good dvd quality than in my own recordings with annoying graphics covering everything up. And with the sets, you don't have to skip over commercials. I just wish they'd bring back the gag reels.

the sets aren't that expensive...i got most of mine for around 20-25 bucks on ebay.

i get to watch them whenever i want, and can take them with me. i don't know how to go from tivo to pc, so the dvds are better.

but yeah, extra features...i'm a huuuuuuuge fan of the gag reel...and the commentary episodes are sweet too.

mostly, though, i get to get my chloe fix whenever i want.

I buy the dvds for the best quality episodes (though I also now watch re-runs in high definition which seems even better than just plain dvd). I also buy the dvds to show support for the show. I like extras, especially commentaries. I liked the actors commentaries from season 2 (please have the actors do some for season 6!) Also it is much easier to spot things on dvd that I might not notice otherwise, even though I record every episode on my digital cable box. Overall I just enjoy the dvds. I watch them when I'm bored or need my Smallville fix.

I buy them because I love to watch the episodes, themselves...see the little things I miss. But, my favorite part are the extras. The commentaries and the gag reels (although they haven't had those in a while). But, those are always fun to see. LOVE the commentaries with Tom and Michael, though. lol

I buy them because the picture quality is better on the dvd and I like the extras they give us like the commentaries and the chloe chronicles......I was very disappointed with my 5th season dvd because of the poor quality of the dvd packaging, I like season 1-4 packaging alot better.....season 5 is already falling apart....although so did the episodes.....I hope seaosn 6 will be better
