I don't think Lex knew anything about Lana's death.
You can tell a difference between when he was lying about the baby and when Clark grabbed him. He seemed genuinely shocked. But that's just my take on it:)

i do not think lex was behind the car bomb.
i believe lana is on a mail truck someplace...as to quote someone else....she is with Newman from Seinfield.
Seriously I believe she jumped on the mail truck.

i got to admit , lionel has always been drawn super smart , super thinking ahead of everyone else.
that mail truck was over the top big interference.
i am surprised lionel did not look back to make sure she was okay.

Yes, the truck scene just before Lanas car exploded was very stange! Lex seemed to be shocked as Clark told him that Lana is dead. Maybe it was only a Lana Plan. 'Cause why does she call Lionel to tell him that she is leaving and cannot trust anyone anymore? Maybe Lana want that everybody think she id dead. And Clark can go on without her. Lana know that aslong Clark know she is there/alive, he will be a part of her life. And she wants him to be save.

I think Lionel and Lana had planned it together. Lex didn't seem to have time to set up anything like that. I could be wrong but that is just my opinion.

At first I thought Lex killed Lana. But when Clark confronted Lex and said Lana was dead, Lex's eyes glazed over and said,"NOOoO" and kind of almost collaped. I thought it wasn't him. Maybe Lex was lying to convince Clark, but I've seen Lex balatanly lie to people and this time he looked genuinely stunned.

Either Lex killed her, or she isn't dead.

Since he for once didn't seem to be lying when he said he didn't know what was going on to Clark, and he actually seemed stunned by the news (a phantom was coming to kill him, yet he actually let himself be stunned and pause for a second in the hall, if Lex killed her, the news wouldn't have been a suprise and he would have tried harder to fight Clark off and run instead of almost going limp).

I agree with you, brch2. We've all seen Lex lie so we know what it looks like. This time he actually seemed suprised and upset.

And Lana's way smarter then to get in her own car. I think she jumped into the mail truck to fool everyone. She didn't trust anyone, and a bomb in her car would be something she must have considered before confronting Lex.
