about the writers makeing syler too dame smart and peter in the words of
"lois and clark"
galacticly stupid !!!

it stared off with the fight scence where peter for some idiotic reason turn his back on his enemy just waiting for syler to kick his ass

and now with him leaving ted to the police and not even following him invisiabley
he know syler was around he heard is thoughts come on how stupid can you be

by all accounts peter is and should be more powerfull than syler
he can take anything syler dish out
he just need to use his head a little

the writers are making syler a god i mean he some how can survive long falls (without clare power i might add ,bulltes, torture, voice commands, unfreeze time and the list goes on and on

every one that he faces that should at list have a chance againest him
his shout down by mere stupidbility
look at ted and his worthless death
he could have scared away syler easly with his power

i understand he is the bad guy he
needs to survive but the writers need to show some class
dont make him last on the expence of the stupiedbility of other heroes

I feel your pain.
Sylar bored me a long time ago. He was given far too much power. But anyway the guy basically understands the powers he takes on unlike peter who is even afraid of his powers.

You know in peter's case if he takes on an unstable ability for instance he might have a hard time controlling. Sylar hardly has that problem.
I know it makes the show interesting with the whole learning curve that the likes of Peter and hiro have to go through but someone like ted who had mastered his power should have given Sylar the fight of his life. In my opinion that was really lazy on the writers part.

The show still rocks though. ;)

Not entirely true, he had to learn how to control Dales. He was really hurting after he got it and it has even been used against him.

Forgive me I'm a newb...but was that ever confirmed that that was her power, or was it just a coincidence?

It was confirmed at least in the novels! Sylar needed to learn to drive a Semi and said luckily he meet girl in Texas with the ability to remeber things. Or something along those lines.

O and welcome!

Thanks...I guess I should start reading the novels so I can get a better feeling for the backstory of the show.

People expect way too much way too fast. Keep in mind the time frame from Hiro's arrival in N.Y till the final episode is roughly three to four weeks. The powers are all new to the characters. Sylar takes very little time to adjust because his power was knowing how things work. He has given into it completely. The others are all holding out to being normal still. Also peter needs to tap into his emotions to use his power but when he loses control or gets too stressed he overloads. For him it will be a fine line. Sylar's weakness is his over confidence any time someone reacts not how he expects there is a moment that they can take advantage. Hiro TPing, Peter healing, Eden's power,
underestimating Mohinder all moments were Sylar has the proverbial brain fart. Or what I call the Scooby-Doo look from Zachary Quinto. The writers know what they are doing just enjoy the ride.

Sylar supposed to be smart. He's capable of being the President of the United States, and he's also just very crafty. Peter just happens to care about others, but he's not stupid.

Peter turned his back cause he was gettin outa dodge. If this guy who had almost killed me, haunted me in my dreams, and had just crucified someone on there ceiling with their mind before my eyes, I would be pretty scared too.

Peter probably let Ted go because he thought that Ted would be taken away quickly to a secret, secure, safe location far from the city. One less explosion to worry about.

It looked to me like ted's hands were shackled behind his back, and they seem to be the focus of his powers. The one problem I had with the scene, was if a bullet makes him go crazy, why doesnt he start exploding while his head is being cut open!?

And finally as to Sylar's survival of so much. It seems that his "knowing how things work" ability gives him extreme control over his body somehow. The writers said (and I forget if this was on CBR or on one of the commentaries) that Sylar was ably to escape Mohinder when he was hooked up to the IV because he was able to reverse the flow of his bodily fluids back up and into the tube, giving him access to his telekinis again.

Hope all that helps.:)

Sylar, probaply got his brain out before he time to explode.

He didnt reverse the flow of his bodily fluid, he was able to use TK to turn off the inhibitor. He told that to Mohinder.

What !!

So if he used TK to turn off the inhibitor what use was it. Why did Mohinder put him on an IV if it was useless. I believe the inhibitor was meant to supress his powers. Did Sylar simply resist the effects and use his Tk or does that belong in the land of the unexplained.

Peter isn't dumb, just misguided.

Yah, his TK was supressed by the Curare. I think, but am not sure, that it was on the commentary for the episode that they said that he reversed the Curare out of his body. Once it was out, he turned off the switch with his TK. And after Mohinder tried to shoot him, he showed him that it had been off.

That explanation about getting the brain out makes sense.

Sylar doesn't eat the brains he takes, does he? I always thought he studied them to see how they worked and once he know, he could harness that power???

I went back and watched and Sylar told Mohinder that he didnt even realized that he had turned off the drip.

But I will go back and watch the commentary now as well.

Commentary is down unfortunately. Does anyone know where to find transcripts?
