Did you guys notice the mail truck that went by right when she was opening the door to her car???? I think that she went into the mail truck and that she never got into her own car so I think she's gonna be ok. what do you guys think??

Haha, many have already made that conspiracy, including myself.
It's definitely plausible, and I'm sure that's it!
But I guess we'll have to wait 'til September!

Yup...me too. I'm sure in the premier, we'll find out that she is alive and well on a truck somewhere. The question is, what is Lex going to do when he finds out that Lana is still alive. I'm sure that's a plot that Al/Miles are itching to play out in season 7.

I sure hope she is alive, I will be sure to re-watch that scene many times to check for any hints. Starting tomorrow I begin my investigating :)

yep right when I saw that, I knew that that was why that mail truck came, that was a really good idea to do that =]

And Clark will hear the rumor and we get to see 20 episodes of Clark searching for her.

>sigh<

She faked her own death. Yup!! The mail truck was a dead give-away.

Mr. Clark Kent27
05-17-2007, 07:53 PM
Ah HA! Yeah. It has to be. But then how did her car blow up by itself with out starting the engine? Maybe someone else got in there and died.

paolinki25
05-17-2007, 07:54 PM
It's just another moronic, lame explanation for a fake death. Same thing they did with Chloe back in season 3 finale.

WUHEMAN

I thought the exact same thing about Lana and the mail truck. :D

SteveS
05-17-2007, 07:54 PM
Two to one odds that Lana isn't dead but that she faked her own death as a way to get away from Lex.

The mail truck was beyond obvious

Yeh I noticed that too. They def left themselves an out to lana's "death"

Superbeard

That mail truck was a loophole. Lana can't die, that would go out of Superman canon. But Kristin Kreuk's contract was up, so she was written out of the show. The mail truck came by so the "possiblity" of her escaping the explosion is still there; Lana is implied to still be alive, but regardless she's still not coming back in the fall. And good riddance.

Whose idea was it to replace the iconic, spunky, red-haired Lana Lang with a Chinese-Dutch black-haired emotionally unstable sissy anyway? (For the record, that's not a racist comment. But she doesn't look a thing like that! Why don't we just make Clark blonde while we're at it?)

jimmyolsenblues
05-17-2007, 08:21 PM
bad news. lana is alive and well. that was too obvious. surprised lionel missed it.

elroyofkrypton
05-17-2007, 08:21 PM
The whole point of phoning Lionel is so someone can witness the explosion and confirm her death. However...a car explosion doesn't vaporize a body. Loose thread!

Now...do we get a Trial of Lex Luthor next season? Lana will be in a peck of trouble if she forces a capital trial over her "death."

LanaandPete
05-17-2007, 08:22 PM
Dont you guys know the rule for TV/Movie, haha

No body = No death

Plus, we never saw her enter the car. If she were dead, we would see it.

I said the same thing during the episode to my boyfriend.
Lana has totally impressed me.

I agree with you on that one.

Lionel was the only witness, and he saw just what she wanted him to see. If she can take Lex down for her murder than she'll be safe. She doesn't trust either Lex or Lionel and she is taking care of herself.
What a shock!

I don't know if Lana jumped in the truck but I do think that she's not dead and that she framed Lex and got him arrested for her death. She'll probably be back but not til mid-season next season.

I think that Clark didn't look too broken up about it because he knew Lana's plan or helped her out with it. You just never know.

well if it comes out next season that she did all of this on her own, without lionel's help then yea she impress me as well.

I think that Lana set Lex for her "death". The police arrested Lex for her death. So Lana has to stay hidden is she want's the charges to stick. She probably called the police expressing her concerns about Lex. About her Lex and probably told them that he was going to kill her.

She mentioned to Lex that the only way to get rid of her was to kill her. She said that as she was walking out

Money shot:

http://img175.imageshack.us/my.php?image=clarkri7.png

Watch this scene AGAIN. Pay special attention to the guy driving that truck.

If anyone remembers that picture of TOM WELLING on the set when the car exploding happens.... the guy who took the shot had a pic of Tom's back and he was wearing a BLUE shirt.

Clark in Phantom was a wearing a blue shirt the entire time under that red jacket.

Don't tell me that guy driving that truck doesn't resemble Clark.

Also, it's very possible that they had already shot all the scenes they need for next season's premiere to "re-tell" this part that way they save money having to have done all the shots already instead of re-doing them all over again.

The pic is really small. I can't click to make it bigger.

N/M, I can see the picture now.

Yeah, blue shirt, jeans. could defintely be Clark.

I fixed it.

But you have to watch it in motion. The still doesn't do much justice, you really have to watch it.

I just watched the scene frame by frame and yeah, the dude that's driving the truck has a blue shirt and jeans and it definitely could be Clark.

And since someone took a pic of TW wearing the exact same outfit while Lana's truck exploded........

Upon a closer look, the guy actually has grey hair driving the truck.. I just checked my cap

The now yearly Lana death scene is just another example of the writers trying to bait us with something we want to see, but dragging it out endlessly so that when it finally happens we'll truly be overjoyed. (Granted if we're still interested at that point, shame on us.)

This is very similar to the now no longer yearly Chlark kiss and the possibility of Chloe becoming Lois Lane in name only.

The writers slap us across the face with something interesting, but then shy back to the blandness that generally is Smallville.

I thought that part was so obvious! Just before she "gets in the car" the mail truck just so happens to drive by, and we don't see her actually getting in so obviously she's in the mail truck...i thought they should have made that a little better, imo

could've been Tom's stand in who actually drove the truck?

All I know is that there's a pic a dude took of TW wearing the exact blue t shirt and jeans the day that Lana's truck blew up.

I think it could be a reflection. You have to watch the scene itself. The guy has dark hair.

And besides... I would know those biceps anywhere :p

I don't think guys with grey hair would have THAT big of a bicep

Yes it was obvious that Lana faked her death. The big "good bye" scene with Clark would be enough to suspect her. I was surprised to find out that she faked her death independent (seemingly) of everyone else in SV. If so, this would be a real coming out of a mature, take charge Lana. This is a Lana that will be much more likeable and interesting.

So where do you think Lana will go?

I'm not so sure...just because it was so obvious. The writers weren't even trying! So who knows....maybe they are trying to trick us?? Make us think she's alive when she's not??? I just can't believe they would make it that easy for us.....

Brizzle
05-17-2007, 10:19 PM
Yeah i knew once the truck drove by, she got in it. Those arms definitely look like clarks. And remember after clark and Lana hugged they just cut out of the scene. And usually Lana walks away from clark and they show it. But this time they just cut out so they must have talked about something like faking her death.

I agree the mail truck was obvious, but I am hoping that if/when she resurfaces the way she escaped is more interesting than she jumped in the mail truck....but if that is the reason I will be glad she is ok, even though I wasn't so sure I liked where TPTB took her character this season, she made up for it towards the end and I never had anything against Lana.

Also, when you watch Lionel walking past the mail truck, it goes up and down like it hit a bump "or something" Hmmmmm.......

05-17-2007, 10:27 PM
And usually if an explosion or an accident happens, cars would STOP and help the people involved in the accident. But that truck just kept on going

Ditto! You had to know that they weren't REALLY going to kill Lana off. I don't think she will return right away. I think Clark will suffer through it for awhile.

Although I know that Lana had to fake her death, one thing still lingers in my mind. I just went back and slowed down that scene and in Lana's car something is in there. I wonder what was that.
