It was too obvious that the truck happens to come by and we don't see her get in and then the car explodes...too freaking obvious. I think they are playing with us, and she really is dead, they just want us to think that she's not dead...but she really is!

Perhaps it was one of Lex's goons? Maybe one of them was instructed to kill anyone who knew too much, and maybe Lana had just stumbled onto enough evidence to get Lex arrested for sure, and then the goon killed her? I don't know. It seems very odd to me. I don't think Lex did it. I just think he genuinely was surprised when Clark said that she had died, and I think that Lex is not evil enough to kill Lana...yet.

Maybe, if he's NOT responsible, and if Clark knows it, he'll try to help Lex out and Lex will try to help Clark figure out who did this to Lana (although, with everything Lex has done, it's hard to imagine Clark trying to help, unless he thought, "The real killer's not Lex. This isn't justice," and Chloe maybe argues with him, "There's more than one brand of justice, Clark. This is karma. Lex deserves to be in jail," etc.)

I think she probably faked her owh death. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the military is connected, she found out, and the CIA took her out before it went public.

Considering that the truck was way too obivous I kinda wish the writers really did trick us and make us think she got on the truck but she actually died. I mean the writers need to realize most of us who watch the show have seen enough movies and shows to put two and two together. Hello writers we are not stupid. Definitely need to make things less predictable. So in light of that if she really did die I think it was Lex that arranged it but I seriously doubt it.

I think she faked her death too, b/c I can't think of a way that Lex could have had time to kill her. Or a reason for Lionel or anyone else to try and kill her. Plus, I think Lana tried to set up Lex.

It's obvious Lana set the whole thing up. Don't ask me how, but she did. Remember her saying 'What are you going to do...kill me?' to Lex earlier in the show. Most likely, she even made the call to the police that Lex killed her.

Maybe it was Pete on the mail truck that saved her!!!:D

I think it was more of a "Did she fake her death" kind of surprised look. Think about it...She gets blown up in her car the day she tells him she's leaving him.

All good theories, guys and gals:D keep them coming.....The obvious thing would probably be that she faked her death because it would mean that she could be free...(far away from Smallville..but still free from the luthors) Now I am wondering if they maybe really killed her off...that would be a really good twist..not because I HATE Lana ,,but because it would be unexpected..especially after all of those "Lana faking her death " rumors.....I guess we'll find out come september:rolleyes:
