I dont see how any cliffhanger could top the season 3 finale. That was some crazy stuff.

ya season 3s cliffhanger was really powerful. plus you didnt really know what it was going to lead too. the last 2 was you knew clark was getting the fortress and knew he would some how escape the phantom zone. season 3 you knew he would get out and be ok but you had no idea where he was or what he was actually doing in there.

i really enjoyed the bizzaro cliffhanger. it was awesome and seems like something that can be worked with all next season. hopefully they dont make the same mistake with getting rid of zod last season.

i wondering whats going to happen with chloe. hope she lives.

lex going to jail was cool. i think that and bizzaro are the only cliffhanger scenes i really enjoyed and got me excited. they tease deaths every season it seems like so it seems kind of old.

I also enjoyed this cliffhanger but like any cliffhanger I have to shake my fist in the air and as 'WHY' because I want to know right now and don't want to wait for months to find out what happens.

There were so many open ends in this episode that it's just almost impossible to tell who is really dead and what is going to happen.

I do hope that Bizarro Clark stays around a bit and doesn't get beat down in the first episode. I don't think Lana is dead but I don't think we'll see her again until mid-season next season.

I thought it was awesome how I was a little upset at how Bizarro was just Clark in darker, inverted clothes until the epic scene where Bizarro feels free to take on the world after flying out of Reeves Dam and we get a glimpse of what becomes his true form. Hope they get a kick ass makeup artist to show Bizarro looking that way in the season opener.

Lex getting arrested and Bizarro...well actually looing like Bizarro lol was all that a seasonal cliffhanger on Smallville needed at this point!

As far as season finale goes, this one was alright but not as good as Covenant or Commencement...However, the ending in this finale left me more anticipated than all the rest.

It wasn't as epic or dire as past cliffhangers, but it was just as good as any cliffhanger Smallville has ever pulled off. The final second where Bizarro transforms had me screaming in fanboy ecstasy.

i love that, at the very end of the most season finales you just get those chills down your spine, then start screaming at the TV for more. I thought the Chlois cliffhanger was very anticlimatic and messy, Lionel just seems to be takin a dip, i don't even know that he is in danger, he will most likely help Chloe and Lois escape the dam. As for Lana, good, i hope you stay that way. Lex, I thought after all his misdeeds this season he deserved more of a cliffhanger than an arrest. Finally, wow, the last 2 minutes of the episode blew me away, i think i speak for eveyone when i say i was jumping up and down with excitement at the final screenshot, i cannot wait to see how it plays out.

I cant stand CLIFFHANGERS if I love the show.. Obviously I love this one.. but the good thing about it is that it lets you anticipate everything about next season and it lets your mind run wild....

Smallville is such a good show. I'm like welling up with love for it right now. I bash it all the time, and it's pathetic half of the time, but i really do love it. Finales always make me love it more for a few days, then I watch like... Drone and I bash it again. Such a lovely cycle.

I dont like Clana scenes a lot..neither Lana...but in this episode...Clark looked soo cute...when he said "I am sorry.....I know I should say so.but I am not" that was cute..!!!
And I liked Lana also in this episode..actualy felt sorry for the girl...anywaz....shhhh...

Oh, and Razta, about Bizarro's face: Bizarro's face, as far as I know, is always sort of grey and rocky like that in the comics (and cartoons, apparently).

Excellent, I loved the part when Clark shoved Lex away like he was a little punk.The Return of at least one extra superhero, the Martian was cool, and the possiblity he might die was made the episode worth watching. I really thought they might mess up the finale, since they WASTED a whole episode late in the season with noir, that they couldve used as a part of a 2 hour finale, which is what this season REALLy needs to wrap this up.
It really seemed like they left enough things resolved to cover themselves if Smallvile gets cancelled next season and doesnt have a season seven. I mean the Mom is going away to Washington, Lana says shes leaving Smallville, and its really unrealistic that she'd be safe living in the same town with Lex.

Most importantly, Clark finally told Lana his secret , and it wasn't a cheap plot device like a dream sequence and no lame time travel or amnesia(ugh) erased it.

On top of that Beeman came out of "retirement" to Direct an Episode I dont think he nor Marshall directed an episode since REckoning ep 100. It seems like if they were going to do a final episode, Beeman, Marshall , or al and Miles would direct it.

Yes. Some "Cliffhangers" really aren't because we all know they will be back next season. But HOW the cliffhangers are resolved is what leaves me wanting more.

I thought it was ok. It was entertaining but not the best finale of the SV gang...

While the spin of the recent incarnation of bizarro was interesting, he is nevertheless just a re-packaged spin on the "testorone uninhibited" clark we have seen in the past eg. red kryptonite clark or the Jor-El controlled clark.

We all know Lana can't be dead, since she is the leading lady and the fact her character is alive in the comics. Then again unless the writers decide to do something stupid like killing off important regular characters like they did on X-men 3 (god i hated that movie..lol). The only mystery for me is who was helping her. I hope it was Green Arrow and the league gang.

The only thing I want to know for next season is whether Chloe or Lionel is dead. Considering they are characters with no previous incarnations, their status quo remained to be seen.

My guess is Lionel would die (eventhough we will all dearly miss Mr. Glover godly performance). I don't think Chloe would die because there are rumors about DC comics incorporating her into the comics.

On the last note, I was dissappointed in Chloe's hidden power. I mean come on. Considering her mother has mental powers and the fact that Chloe had showed tremendous mental ability like searching for info on the internet, good hunches about stuff....it was a big dissappointment and it doesn't make sense.

I really thought Chloe should have the power to tap into alternate timeline or reality (which would be a type of mental ability) or at least have the power to change realities. This would tie in nicely with the series finale and it would greatly tie in later superman stories and explain why people don't recognize Clark as superman especially Lex, or why Chloe was never mentioned etc.

Then again, no one said Chloe should just be limited to one power only...

Again, no way to know that. He started out as a "bad Clark" but we also found out that he is fundamentally different then Clark when he absorbed the Kryptonite. He changed physically at the end and will likely change mentally as well.

the BEST cliffhanger was defiently Vessel. So perfect. We're like oh no. Lana's with the wrong guy! Metropolis is in casos. The whole world is. Clark has to do something...but he is trapped in the phantom zoner diamond trap thing.

I have not yet seen the finale as it hasn't screened here, but I jumped on Youtube just now to watch the death of Chloe because yes, I simply couldn't wait for the DVD release and just had to see it - Jesus Christ, the respect I have for Allison as an actor - just seeing Chloe completely crumbles as she took a "dead" Lois in her arms and pleading her to wake up - few moments in 'Smallville' history heave reduced me to tears, but this was one of them because AM's performance was just so powerful. And then for Chloe to die after saving Lois - to see Lois left the emotionally vulnerable and raw was rather upsetting too, and I must give major kudos to both AM and ED for moving and powerful performances - now I can't wait to get the DVD and watch it again... it'll go down in Smallville history as far as I'm concerned.
