ok true. But take pride in that they actually made Bizarro's colors inverted AND darker (like he is in a few different comic revisions).

Also they teased us with Bizarro being able to fly ANNNNNND the chalky, cracked face!! omg how awesome was that!!

That was a HUGE payoff!! So even if he's not retarded (yet) they still paid homage to the comics more than not!

I love the "frozen" face at the end, plus you could tell Tom had a blast playing Bizarro. I am sincerely hoping they have that character around for a while next year, instead of killing him off like they did Zod. Plus, with the power-up from the Kryptonite (courtesy of dumbass Lionel), he's probably even more powerful than Clark at his maximum. I felt the power-up was a bit of an homage to Metallo, since he had a heart of "Green-K"...just a theory, though.

I thought it was awesome. With everything going on in the episode I forgot about Bizzaro Clark but then looked at the time and started to wonder where he was.

I was not disappointed - but I wish it was 2 hours long.

I agree. I don't want them to kill off Bizarro Clark - I hope they keep him alive and causing trouble through out the first half of the season.

And yeah - for Lionel knowing so much he really did the dumb thing by using the kryptonite. The kryptonite neutralized - I wonder if they'll explain that next season.

Seriously? I just know that in Superman TAS with Bizarro as a failed clone, Kryptonite has zero effect on him.

They BETTER keep Bizarro around. I thought they were going to do the typical Smallville thing and just have a Bizarro reference (by saying "I'm like you, just more 'Bizarre'") and have Bizarro Clark actually look the same except for the different clothes. I was sooo glad to see the normal white, fragmented face. Although I wish he was dumb too.

Bizarro's nature changes all the time, even in the comics. Smallville having taking a few creative liberties with him is fine by me. They even included the rocky, mishapen face!

Maybe Bizarro sucked all the stupid out of Clark. Wouldn't it be great if Clark stopped letting the little head think for the big head? Half the season Clark has been whining over Lana while the world goes to hell in a handbasket! Oy!

Well if Kryptonite is his power then the sunlight must be his weakness. His chalkey and cracked exterior is probably a reaction to the direct sunlight. I wonder (if that is indeed true) how that will pan out.... I really don't want this to be like the Zod fight where Clark takes a beating and then realizes a weakness then *ONE PUNCH* Clark saves the day!!!

This should be like the fight with Titan in my opinion! ^____^

Like some other posters on here. I enjoyed SV's version...and I also would like to see this character spread over some episodes next season. Heres an oppurtunity for SV to build on a character. Give him a reason for being there, besides ultimate power. Let Clark learn from Jor-El about the "Bizzaro's" How to defeat him etc.

:rotfl:

Heaven forbid Bizarro have higher self esteem!

Actually, if we're talking opposites here (green k strengthening him instead of weakening him), then the red k wouldn't necessarily calm him down, unless he was inherently calm. If it does the opposite effect of red k on Clark, which is letting go of his inhibitions, then wouldn't Bizarrio start suppressing his inhibitions more than usual? Then maybe he'll stop fighting because he's so depressed and self absorbed.

Or MAYBE Bizarro ON red k is like Clark NOT on red k...

And while I agree he'd be a cool character to keep around for awhile, if it's true Smallville pattern, Clark will find a way to defeat him by the end of the season premiere, whoop-de-%$^&ing-doo...

I also like smallville's take on bizarro. The comic version can be very annoying with his inverted speach. example: If he likes you he would say," You am bizarro's most hated enemy, me am glad you here!" Anyway, I hope we see him for more than just an ep, and get a full story arc. Let's remember though, this is not some souped up version of red k clark, this is a murderous phantom who must be stopped at all costs. So all the glee at his abilities can't mask the real danger he presents.

This Bizarro actually reminded me of the movies' closest thing to Bizarro in Superman 3 with evil drunk Superman. Both the fight scenes between good and evil even involved big machinery...

Maybe the bizarro in smallville needs something to keep himself strong, and as he weakens he gets retarded etc like in the comics? Maybe thats why his face cracked at the end cause he started to loose power? Then again we don't know enough of this one yet. I liked bizarro so far, he's cool.

The comics' Bizarro is a good idea gone bad. I have never liked the humorous take on the comics' Bizarro one bit. Smallville's will be better because he is a true villain. The comics' Bizarro is histroically more of a buffoon.

I dunno, I was a little disppointed the episode was only an hour, finale's should always be at least 2 hours! But it's cool they brought in Bizzaro, but isn't he like a zombie superman? the phantom clark ended up looking like mr.freeze-clark. from my recollection of what bizzaro's face looked like was almost a pale caveman-looking dude - slumpped brow, severe over (under?) bite where his bottom jaw is far out, crooked teeth and messy hair. i dunno, either way it's cool that they are starting to bring in actual enemies rather then just lex and a pile of nonamed-single appearenced guys. I was hoping they'd show MM as his martian form though, I guess we'll have to wait till season 7!

I dont know about the comics Bizzaro..I read on websites that he was a dumb guy and did a lot of stupid stuff...BUT was nice at heart and did do a lot of Superman helping all aorund Metropolis.!!!

ya perhaps if he doesnt get powered up he can get dumber but remember on this show the planet is filled with green k so bizzaro has lots of power to absorb lol. i dont think his face cracked i think it turned rock or metal and showed he has gotten more powerful.

I agree with someone who posted that they were worried that they were doing the fan-wink-nudge move when BizarreClark said "I'm like you, only more bizarre"...so naturally I was so excited when he turned into the crack-faced Bizarro I know and love.
I do wish he talk backwards like, "me am not like you, only not more bizarre" lol
But I was thinking if the sunlight weakened him enough to show his cracked face maybe it affects his metal capacity and we really will get "life goes on" Bizarro soon enough.

I'm going to need to see more of SV!Bizarro before I can compare him to the comics. I quite liked the comics version though there is definitely room for improvement.

I'm not sure I like that SV!Bizarro was a failed Kryptonian experiment. One of the updates that I enjoyed from the modern era is how Bizarro was reinvisioned as Lex's attempt at cloning Superman. He tied in so nicely with Lex's devious scheming that I thought SV would love to use him for that purpose. But I guess that story has already been told with Lionel and Adam?

Anyway, liked the iconic cracked face at the end but I'm not sure why he didn't wear it sooner.

I enjoy the comic Bizzaro much better.
Comic/Canon Bizzaro is a simple minded buffoon. Who really never meant harm , he just wanted a normal life and a normal family.
Clark creates a bizarro home for him in one comic and Bizzaro is happy.
So I 100% prefer the comic bizarro.

hmm...am I the only one that absolutely LOVED the little bit of Bizarro that we got!:D ...is it wrong that I am actually kinda rooting for him! *so ashamed*:)

from what i gather from the small scene, it seems like SV!Bizarro is almost like a less intense version of RedK!Clark and Kal-El combined...i like that.

For next season, I want Bizarro to not be the traditional buffoon like he is in the comics, but a very intelligent, sneaky version of Clark with bad intentions. I'm glad they didnt go the buffoon route because this is an opportunity to give Bizarro some depth to his character. I would actually be very intrigued if Bizarro were here to stay for a few episodes, and possibly took over Clark's life for a while, wreaking havoc with everyone in a subtle, yet malicious way, while Clark is captured somewhere else.

The only person who knows about the Clark double is Lionel, and he could conveniently be in the hospital for a bit, while everyone goes about thinking it's Clark.

And to make matters worse for Clark and better for Bizarro, there is greenK all over SV!..it's just a gold mine for him!

and correct me if I am wrong, but is it blueK that weakens him?..and if he is the opposite of Clark, shouldn't sunlight work against him?...it doesnt seem so since he came out of the dam into the light, and looked more like his Bizarro self than ever:D

damn...now I cant wait for season 7:cool:

Everyone kicks Clark's butt in season finales. I swear that if I was a superhero, I'd use my considerably greater familiarity with superpowers to give me an edge when one of these dolts who (have)

(1) never flown
(2) never experienced superspeed or strength
(3) don't know how to defend themsleves from heatvision

are on the other end of a hallway.

I'd be kickin' some serious butt myself. But then, I don't have a season opener to deal with in September...:D

I agree 100%, I wish at least one character in smallville would be as close as possible to comics.
Seems every character gets their Almiles spin.
I wish the smallville bizarro was close even exactly like the bizzaro from the comics.

Maybe krytonite empowers him and the sun weakens him or maybe both has no effect on him. In S7 Clark might just find out that the sun makes him more powerful. I don't think he knows that at all. And isn't blue krytonite his weakness.

pharaoh8
06-09-2007, 04:03 PM
actually clark realizes (somewhat) that the sun does give him energy after the episode where lex and clark are stuck in the tunnels. If you notice when clark finally sees the sun he gains his strength and clark seems to realize it.
